14 Escape

Jordan held a knife on Sophie´s throat and droplets of blood started to appear, the blood had an almost silver color and slowly began to stain her clothes.

Eric "let her go you bastard!" Upon hearing that Jordan chuckled and said. "you really are dumb as a monkey" When Eric heard that he almost ran at Jordan bur slightly more pressure on the knife at Sophie's throat stopped him.

Jordan "if you want her alive you better call Jack", it took several seconds before Marie nodded at one of the men that were here.

While they went for Jack Jordan slowly began to smell something awful, once again he felt the absolutely disgusting smell that overcame him the first time he met Jack but this time it came from Sophie. Jordan "You better stop whatever you are doing otherwise your pretty head will fly off"

Sophie hissed "you fucker, I will personally send you to hell" While she said that the smell stopped so Jordan assumed that she was indeed casting a spell and with his eternal smile said. "heh, you can try you bitch"

It took only a minute before Jack together with the other two people arrived, he looked around and helplessly shook his head. "please… let her go, we will let you safely leave… " Jordan "I don't think you can even do that, even though they told us we should kill one another it isn´t mandatory, and yet you as angels decided to kill me off without knowing anything about me"

Jack "you are right… we will let you go near the gate and then you will release her ok?" Jordan "give me what they gave you" Jack "what?" Jordan "don't play dumb and give me any crystals you got and also the books they gave you, I will be generous enough to leave you the teleporting crystal" ´it would be better not to push them too far as they might refuse, I hope my guess is right, otherwise I just told them what I have on me and what they gave to everybody like an idiot´

Jack was silent, slowly he pulled out a leather money-pack filled with crystals and two white books with leather cover. Jordan carefully took off his backpack while still holding the knife on Sophie's throat and then ordered her "put it in, try something funny and your head will roll"

Sophie carefully put everything in, while she did so, the air was so tense that if someone dropped a coin, everyone here will spur to action, with this done Jordan put back his backpack and very carefully began to move around the edge with Sophie, he was trying to be as close as possible to the gate. He already made up his mind, letting them take him to the gate is a suicide, if he wants to survive this is the only way.

While Jordan was moving, he began to speak "Jack, do you know what I think about this world?" Jack "-" Jordan, "I think, that for someone to be happy, someone must suffer, and I agree with the decision to kill me, after all, it was to ensure your future happiness, but you know... now that you failed, you must bear the consequences" Jack "Jordan we can resolve this peacefully!" Jordan looked at Jack and said "You know Jack I am really grateful that the mana came back, if it didn´t I would work in a dead-end job till the day I would kill myself but now I can almost see that life has meaning, I will be happy Jack, and I don't care how many people will suffer for it"

When Jordan finished, he together with Sophie jumped from the roof, while Sophie was screaming Jordan moved her under him and used her as a cushion to damp his fall, a few seconds later with loud bam and several cracking sounds they landed.

Jordan was slightly disoriented but mostly fine, Sophie, on the other hand, was quickly dying, her ribcage was crushed her face smashed.

Jordan wasn´t going to let this chance slip, he caught both of her wing, one to each hand, and put his foot on her spinal cord then with all his strength he pulled until he ripped her wings off. Sophie "AAGAGGAGHH"

When Jordan saw that even after the fall and losing her wings Sophie was still alive he too the knife that fell was near him, thrust it to her temple and twisted, leaving the knife in her head while taking the wings and with this taken care of Jordan began to sprint to the gate, this whole stunt took him about 10 seconds and that was more than enough for the people on the roof to react, two fireballs and one white arrow was flying at him.

Jordan didn't even bother to look at them as they didn't even fall near him, he quickly charged towards the gate, and when he was just a few meters before the gate a tall brawny man with brown hair and brown eyes blocked his path toward the gate.

From his confident stand and the minute amount of mana radiating around him Jordan could guess that he was one of the awakened, Jordan didn´t even slow down when he neared the man, he ducked and punched him in his stomach, the man could hardly react to Jordan speed and even though he blocked to some extend he was stunned for a second and that was all Jordan needed.

Jordan jumped over the gate and continued running, the men´s from the settlements run after him but they weren't a match for Jordan´s superior evolved body.

They tried to follow him but it was useless, it only took two streets for Jordan to get so ahead that they couldn't even see him.

When Jordan lost them, he ran into a randomly chosen tower block, kicked open one door of a random flat, found a sofa, and sat down.

It wasn't that he was tired or anything there was just too much information Jordan had to process.

After a while of silence Jordan began to loudly laugh, he couldn´t believe it worked, he got out and even gained one whole person's worth of crystals, also he gained everything the angels got to know.

But all that aside... Jordan never felt more alive. ´that was horrifying and amazing, I can´t believe that I am still alive´

It took a while before he calmed down and when he did it was already night outside, only when several hours passed did Jordan realized ´today I killed someone´, he waited but no guilt or remorse came, only satisfaction ´she tried to kill me and everyone that tries to go after me or stand in the way of my future is my enemy´ that was the conclusion he came to.

Now Jordan can finally begin his reign, first, he will pick up his hidden stash and the beasts that are already under his control, then he will find a safe location and tries visiting the platform on the averted side of the moon, after all, he has quite the number of crystals and maybe the wings can fetch him some more.

With his thoughts ordered up Jordan took the books he got from the demon army and browsed through them, it didn't bother him that there was no light as he could read just fine thanks to his evolved eyes.

Jordan tried to first read the book with basic information, but he ended on the first page, everything was in some gibberish that was supposed to be demon language, all the letters looked like runic letters that Celts and old Germanic used.

When he couldn´t read the basic information, he took the dictionary and started to learn this new strange language.
