I walk and walk on this tarnish road
filled with marbles and hopping toads
The sun scorched with a dazzling heat
making me red and sweat in hot darn breeze
I wore no sandals and walk barefoot
Blood and bruises with an aching tooth
But I cannot feel the pain that scorches me
For my mind was adrift somewhere, you see
I walked a few paces and saw others like me
Missing a few gadgets which we all can see
So we begin to trade with whatever we have
and fill our needs to continue ahead
A pair of sandals for a pound of rice
Or a compass with something would suffice
As we ask others when this road will end
We all nod and say, there's just one stop ahead
