3 Ikatlong Kabanata

And they all lived happily ever after!"

Hana exclaimed, the children looked at each other and then at Hana herself.

"What? You don't like the story?" Hana asked the kids, they looked at the morning sky outside.

"No, we were just bored." Diwa then looked at a painting of three women, each having a symbol. "Who are those women?" She points, Hana looks up at the painting.

"Those women are Hanan, Mayari and Tala,"

Hana looked at the children, "the three demigod daughters of Bathala."

The children let out a 'wow' until one raised his hand, "Miss Hana, are they gods as well?"

"Yes, they are. Si Hanan ay ang Diyosa ng Umaga, si Mayari ay ang Diyosa ng Buwan, at si Tala ay Diyosa ng mga Bitwin." Hana explained, the children looked at the painting in amazement.

"Miss Hana, do you have any stories about one of them?"

"Well, there's one story about Mayari and Apolaki, the God of the Sun. It's Pampangan."

"Tell us about it!" Diwa cheered, the others also cheered in agreement, Hana sighed and smiled.

"If you all will stay silent, I'll tell the story."

The children stayed silent, Hana then began to tell the story.

"One day, Bathala died."

"Well, that escalated quickly." Malia commented, Hana looked at her with the face of agreement and then continued.

"And in this myth,Apolaki was Bathala's son, and his sister was Mayari."

'It probably explains why I feel like He's my brother.' Hana thought,

"And when the tragic event happened, Bathala left no will. So, Apolaki wanted to rule the world himself."

'But that's impossible, considering the divisions of myths around the world.'

"But Mayari insisted that the ruling should be fair, thus, they both fought it out resulting to Mayari losing an eye."

"Poor Mayari." Hana broke out from her thoughts, and looked at Diwa, She continued.

"After seeing what He had done, Apolaki decided that they would take turns ruling the world. Him ruling at day, and Her ruling the night."

"Wow." Diwa whispered, Hana and the entire orphanage found Diwa and her antics cute, Hana smiled.

"But, Mayari's light would be dimmer since an eye of hers got taken out."

The children looked at her in amazement, "FINALLY! A STORY WHERE MISS HANA DOSEN'T SAY 'AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER'!" Diwa shouted, the whole orphanage laughed at the little girl's remark.

At last, Hana was able to feel light once again.
