8 Chapter 7: shortcomings

Lyr suffer a large pain but with a strong will he quickly move back regardless of the pain and put his knife in front,

the cat is very fast but Lyr is not a vegetarian, not giving the time for the cat to attack again Lyr quickly rush to counterattack,

slashing his knife as fast as he could towards the cat but every time the cat dodges it, as time goes by there are more and more wounds on his body but the cat is still easily dodging his slashes. hi

'this won't work, My current strength can not be used for a long fight' Lyr thought while feeling his diminishing strength in every seconds.

while slashing the cat, Lyr took a look at the surrounding things that can be used, his sight stop at the corner place with a limited space,

with a plan in his mind he quickly dash at the place, he is sure that the cat will follow so no need further anger it and sure enough the cat quickly follows,it thinks that the prey is running.

the space here is very short only enough for one person, Lyr plan to use this tight space to kill this mutated cat,

this limited space also limited his action so his plan has an advantage and disadvantage at the same time, but this is his only choice now so he got to take this risk, he just hopes that lady luck is in his side.

quickly shutting at the limited space, finding a comfortable space he then position his knife in a way that it can be used without problem in this limited space.

fortunately he moves fast, when he just completed his preparation with the fastest speed the cat arrives shortly after, it immediately growl and brandish its sharp claws at him,

knowing the difference in strength Lyr block it with all his strength and sway it to the side to dispel some force which makes the cat pause for a second.

taking advantage with this, Lyr immediately use his knife with all his hopes and strength, if this hits he can live if not then his dead,in this limited space he is basically a living target to a super agile type like the cat,

fortunately he succeeded, with its momentary pause and the limited space the cat ha no way to dodge the knife it can only watch the knife get on its head,

blood splashes, Lyr looked at the cat in his feet he sigh with relief, he was really betting, betting that the cat will immediately attack him and it did,

with its low IQ it thinks that when Lyr run he is only a lamb that can only be slaughtered so it immediately dash at him without thinking and that leads it to its demise, if only the cat would be smarter Lyr can only be buried in this corner, in this limited space Lyr can't really move arbitrarily.

"a 'first layer mid' only gives me a 0.5 number" Lyr can only sigh and said while looking at his number of BP(break points).

"well 10 BP has been collected so lets try to breakthrough, my current strength now really makes me insecure but before that..." he said and then look at his blooded figure, only now did he feel pain, adrenaline is really strange, with a life and death battle he even forgot the pain for a moment but now that its over he clearly feel the pain in every corner of his body,

he limply and vigilantly head to a door of a room since his was broken,

opening a door,finding that it didn't have problems, he quickly go to the bathroom to wash and patch his injuries,

Lyr with bandages(one of the supplies he bought) in his body he lay in his bed after arranging a blockade of the door.

he lay there thinking about the battle, he was really lucky to encounter a mutant animals with only a 'first layer mid' in strength otherwise his done for if he encounters a 'first layer high peak'(on the verge of breakthrough). most of the mutant animals has supernatural powers so he was really lucky, the battle of the 'first layer' of strength is mainly on the body so with his 10 years of experience he can basically take down most of the first layer but with the battle just he realize his shortcomings.

what if he encounters more powerful than this with a supernatural power or even an exceed what would he do then, even with his no limiter body to blow a planet with a punch so what of it, there were many strange powers that can restrict physical strength, like what he heard in his past life, an exceed with a power to control the spirit or the power to control the shadow of the others and even some strange power about curses.

even with super strong strength in the future he can't really be sure that he can beat the other party with strength alone so what he needs now is to have a superpower himself but how....

thinking for a long time he suddenly slap himself " right I have the limit breaking bead, it made to break any boundary right so it was also possible for me to have super power" Lyr said excitedly like he was the most brilliant man in the world.

with this thought he quickly contacted the bead, and its answer really make him jump in happiness, the bead tells him that it was possible.

"so how many points do I need" he asked immediately.

he looked at the number, it was 70 points in total it was not so hard to get now that zombies strength is still weak at this time but what made him hesitate is the term 'Reconstructing the soul' the soul is very mysterious and very dangerous to dealt with,

in his last life he heard one tragedies about this happen, the supposedly one of the 7 kings, the 'Ghost King' with his power concerning about the soul accidentally did something in his soul that lead his soul to collapse and he become mad that only knows how to kill and his body deformed in a horrible way proof that his body is adapting with his new soul( his superpower is about the soul so his body didn't blow up but adapted to it).From then on the 'Ghost king' became one of the most hunted/wanted exceed in humanity because of his mass killing of evolutionist and exceed. (the exceed and evolutionist form an alliance but that's another story)

so seeing this makes Lyr don't want to take risks unless he can't find another way or was desperate.

thinking this now is useless so he can only sigh and proceed to sleep to have sufficient power for tomorrow's hunting...
