8 Back To The Ruins!

Kurama bid farewell to Sirzechs and happily went to his room to prepare for tomorrow's training. He was so excited that he didn't notice Rias entering the room.

Seeing Kurama happy also brought her mood up. "Kuu-chan, what are you happy about?" Asked Rias.

"Oh? Nothing, it's just sensei accepted me as his student. He will teach me swordsmanship. Oh by the way, sensei is Ito-san." Kurama replied while finishing up his preparations for tomorrow.

Rias nodded but then remembered what she came here for. "Oh right Kuu-chan, can you come with me back to the ruins?"

"Huh? Why? Are you not afraid of being attacked again?"

"I already told Mama to come with us."

"Oh, okay. But why do you want to go back their?"

"I- I don't know. It's just that something seems to be calling me. And there's also that small red fox."

"Okay, I'll go with you Ricchan!

Rias smiled and nodded then pulled Kurama's hand. They went to their mother to tell her that they were ready. Kurama then left to find Ito and Sirzechs. He found them both outside the house and called out. "Senseiii! Nii-samaaa!"

Ito and Sirzechs both turned their head and saw Kurama running towards them. Ito then asked "What is it brat?"

"Ricchan, Mama and I will be going back to the ruins. Ricchan said that something seems to be calling her."

"Ho~? Interesting! I say why not. You up for it Sirzechs?"

"Sure, I was about to head out anyway."

Ito, Kurama and Sirzechs waited for a couple minutes before Rias and Venelana finally arrived. Seeing the both of them, Kurama waved and said, "Let's go Ricchan, Mama!"

Rias went over to where Kurama was and held his hand. She then said, "Let's go Kuu-chan!"

Kurama just nodded and started walking. The other three then followed after. Ito walked forward and led the way as he remembered where it was. The 5 of them walked for around 30 minutes before arriving at the said ruins.

A small crimson-red fox suddenly showed up in front of them stitting at a boulder. After seeing Rias, it dived straight into her bossom and whimpered a 'wuwuwu'.

Rias giggled as the small fox cuddled with her as it rubbed its small head with Rias' cheeks. The small fox sounded out a 'wuwu', telling Rias to follow it.

"It's saying that it wants me to follow it." Rias told the the others as though she understood what it was talking about.

"It's a ruin fox cub, though it still only has 1 tail." Ito said as he eyed the small fox.

Ruin fox is a rare beast that lives in the ruins. It was said that they will be attracted to the ruins where treasures lay. A ruin fox gradually grows more tail as they mature. Just like the Yokai 9-tails, they have their own fox fire, namely the {Ruin Fire}. It is dark crimson-red in color, a shade darker than their fur. They are super fast and agile which makes it super hard to capture them, even for ultimate-class Devils.

"Ria, you should make that fox your familiar. It can be of great help to you, it will also accompany you as you grow stronger. It will be a great companion." Sirzechs said as he saw the interaction between the fox and Rias.

Rias nodded at Sirzechs and looked at the fox as she asked, "Do you want to become my familiar fox-chan?"

The fox went silent for a moment as it stared at Rias with its cute eyes. Rias was staring to get anxious as several seconds passed by. Finally, the fox nodded its head to Rias which made her overjoyed. Kurama, Sirzechs and Venelana were also relieved after the fox agreed. They were nervous that if the fox disagreed, they can't do anything about it.

Venelana taught Rias for a couple of minutes on how to make a contract with a familiar. After Rias finally know how to make a contract, she immediately put the fox down and started chanting as a magic circle started forming under Rias and the fox.

The ritual went without a hitch as the fox became Rias' familiar.

What was surprising was that, after the ritual finished, the fox sprouted out 1 tail, which makes her tail count to 2. A part of Rias power was sent to the fox which made it sprout a tail. It was so happy that it was jumping up and down after gaining another tail. It then calmed down and stared at Rias as she picked it up.

"Now that you are my familiar and were gonna be together forever, I'm gonna name you 'Akami'." Rias said as she lifted Akami up to her face. (A/N: Aka for red and kami/gami for hair. I combined it = Akami.)

Akami let out a satisfied sound as she rather liked the name Rias gave her. She then jumped down and headed towards the ruins.

The group soon followed after. They walked for around 10 minutes before arriving at a dead end.

"Kuu-chan, why did Akami bring us here? There's nothing in here and we are already in a dead end." Voiced out Kurama as he was confused why they were brough here.

"Be patient brat. No ruin fox will ever stay at an empty ruin." Stated Ito as he reprimanded Kurama.

Kurama nodded and decided to be patient. They then saw Akami went over a wall and pushed something that triggered something in the hall.

A hidden door was opened and Akami immediately went inside.

"Well, this is surprising. Never knew there was this kind of hidden room near our residence." Sirzechs said as he looked through the door with interest.

Ito nodded as he said, "You sure are negligent for a Lucifer. If not for this little lass here, you wouldn't even know this hidden room existed. Hell, you wouldn't even bother investigating this kind of run-down place."

Venelana just sighed at Ito's words as she knew what kind of personalty he has.

Rias just ignored the adults speaking and pulled Kurama's hand and said, "Let's go Kuu-chan!" The other 3 soon went after them and went inside.

Kurama allowed Rias to pull his hand as they went inside followed by the others. They soon saw the interior of the room. It was relatively medium-sized and empty except for a stand which is holding up a sword that is sheathed in its black scabbard. Its sword gaurd is colored black with the grip covered in black cloth.

Akami jumped on Rias shoulder and urged her to go over. Rias nodded as she let go of her twin's hand. Rias was feeling as if the sword was calling out to her. She soon arrived at the spot near the stand which was holding the sword. She absentmindedly reached out her hand as she grabbed towards the hilt of the sword. Rias tried pulling out the sword from its scabbard but it wasn't budging at all.

Rias then tried putting more force pulling it out, but still didn't budge at all. She reinforced her hands with {Power of Destruction}, but the sword still won't move away form its scabbard.

Venelana started worrying about Rias hurting herself. She was about to call out to her but Sirzechs stopped her as he pointed at Rias. She saw a crimson-red glow atop Rias head. Venalana and Sirzechs was wondering what that was as it was the first time they saw something happening on Rias head. Ito was watching the crimson-red glow intently as it was his second time seeing it. He was wondering what it was as it gave him a familiar feeling.

Rias' head was glowing crimson-red, but she didn't notice it. The glow suddenly vanished as a silver tiara with a red ruby gem at the center of it was sitting above Rias' head. She finally pulled out the sword after the tiara appeared above her head.

Rias was in a dazed state as she muttered in her breath, "Sacred Gear {Ruin}."

"""What?! Sacred Gear?!"""

Venelana and Sirzechs were stunned as Rias' was a Devil but had a Sacred Gear while Kurama just stood there looking at Rias worriedly. Ito finally recognized the familiar feeling as it was a Sacred Gear. He looked at Rias deeply before turning towards Kurama suspicously as he also saw a crimson-red glow on his chest.

Rias then woke up from her daze and looked at the sword. Its blade is crimson-red with the sword edge having a black sheen. The sword spine have ancient word markings written over it that nobody can seem to understand the words. She was wondering why the sword felt so light now after unsheathing it. It was so heavy that she needed to put far more power in her hands. She then remembered about the power which appeared out of nowhere.

Rias then lifted her hand to touch the tiara atop her head where she felt all the power coming from. She was happy that she got a new friend, a new sword and a new kind of power. She picked up the scabbard of the sword and put the word back on its scabbard. A second later, the sword glowed for a moment before vanishing. Rias was stunned about the sword vanishing but then saw a marking on her right hand. She was confused and was about to ask what happened when she heard Ito saying, "A soulbound weapon."

Rias turned towards the other and saw the shock on their faces except for Kurama's worried expression. She then turned to Ito as she asked, "What is a soulbound weapon Ito-sensei?" Rias called her sensei as well because she respects who her twin brother respects.

"A soulbound weapon is a..." Ito then started telling Rias what a soulbound weapon was.

A soulbound weapon is attached directly to one's soul. It grows alongside its user and it can only be used by its user. A soulbound weapon can choose its own master but it can also be forcefully bound if one is strong enough to force the weapon in submission.

"... anyway, the real question here is, why do you have a sacred gear little girl?" Ito then changed the topic after having finished narrating what a soulbound weapon is.

"I-I don't know." Rias was also puzzled as to where her sacred gear came from.

Ito turned towards Venelana and Sirzechs and saw their surprise and disbelief so he knew that they knew nothing of this prior.

Venelana and Sirzechs went forward towards Rias as they inspected her body for any abnormalities. As Venelana saw nothing abnormal about Rias, she was relieved and said, "Rias, you should not let anybody know about you having a sacred gear, okay?"

"That's right Ria, we need to keep this a secret to protect you. Don't ever use your Sacred Gear unless the situation calls for it. We also need to have a bit more of an understanding towards your gear." Sirzechs added right after while Rias just nodded her head.

Sirzechs then turned towards Ito and asked if he could also keep this a secret. Ito just nodded as he didn't want to inconvenience his student's family. Ito hesitated for a moment to voice out his suspicions regarding Kurama but kept silent as it needed further evidence. Or maybe he just wanted to discover the secret regarding Kurama by himself.

Kurama was just happy for his twin sister for having her power boosted. He no longer needed to worry about her being bullied as she was now stronger than him. Well, that's what Kurama felt after Rias awakened her Sacred Gear.

The 5 of them then went out of the hidden room and started going back. Rias was stroking the mark on her right hand. She was curious on how to make the weapon appear again while the fox was hanging on her shoulder.

Kurama wanted to hold Akami but she wouldn't let her hold him.

Ito looked at Kurama and said, "Brat, I'm changing up the schedule. We're starting your training today after we arrive.
