As I saw Dohnaseek successfully thin down the zombie army, I gave a smirk that was reminiscent of a Ddraig's irritated voice and shrugged my shoulders.

"It's been less than thirty seconds since he assaulted me, and he's level fifty-seven, but I'm just level twenty-five myself. When my life was in danger from a Fallen Angel that was more than twice as powerful as I am, you cannot expect me to remember what you just told me, can you?"

I lowered my voice and used hyperbole so that my opponent wouldn't be able to hear what I was saying. I was able to talk mentally, but doing so always caused me to become slightly distracted, and I couldn't afford to let that happen during a battle to the death.

Ddraig scoffed. ~Please. This Fallen Angel is a wuss and a coward. It is not even going to be necessary for you to use Boosted Gear in order to defeat him.~

I showed my agreement with a nod of the head. "Indeed. On the other hand, I don't want to make an unhealthy habit out of being overconfident. You explained to me that this was one of the factors that led to your and Albion's deaths in the past, and I don't want the same thing to happen to me."

When I heard Ddraig's argumentative tone in my brain, I couldn't help but grin.

~Excuse me, all-powerful beings who journey through dimensions. As it appears that my presence is not required at this time, I shall resume my snoozing. Before you kill him, it is imperative that you obtain as much information as possible from him. You never know what the opponent might know, and given that he is directly after you, the information could prove to be quite useful.~

I nodded my head. "Of course," I replied without hesitation, as I watched as the logic and Ddraig's connection began to dissipate, and I concentrated all of my attention on Dohnaseek, who was just about done clearing the area of zombies.

Even though they were faster than regular humans, it would still take them a few minutes to get here, and besides, I already had everything I needed to successfully face off against and kill Dohnaseek.

The next horde was a few miles away.

I used Flash Step to sneak up behind him and then appeared in front of him just as the Fallen Angel was about to finish off the last zombie.

His eyes widened in apparent shock. I prepared to throw a punch at his chest and cocked my fist back before doing so.

My fist made contact with Dohnaseek's light shield, which resulted in an expanding wave of displaced air and a loud clang that filled the air.

Dohnaseek was able to successfully put his light shield between us. The sound caused Dohnaseek's eyes to become even more wide.

I noticed that a few of my DP points had decreased, but I didn't pay much attention to it because they were still rising thanks to the activated Iron Skin talent.

I didn't give him any time to recover before I surprised him with a Flash Step onto his flank while simultaneously throwing a reverse punch that was aimed at his temple.

Before I hit Dohnaseek and sent him flying into one of the many stores that surrounded the streets, he was able to do little more than see the attack that was being launched at him.

While he was flying into the structure, he caused a wall to be destroyed, and as a result, his appearance was concealed by the dust and falling debris.

I was able to keep an eye on his health bar, and I was aware of the amount of damage I inflicted on him. It was equal to two times the total of my strength and dexterity bonuses, plus the enhancement provided by my hand-to-hand combat skill.

I suppose momentum played a role as well in the amount of damage I inflicted, and considering as how I had just finished using Flash Step...

Dohnaseek was undoubtedly aware of the impact of that punch.

After a few seconds of clearly standing in the middle of the street and staring blankly into the destroyed store, I erupted into action when a volley of light spears came at me from within the stores.

These light spears were visibly larger and more powerful than the ones he had been using before.

I began dodging them all without altering the expressions on my face and without moving from the position I had taken on the street.

I twisted and bent my body in order to successfully avoid the oncoming attacks and let them pass by me while ignoring the explosion and damage that they were causing behind me. I was able to do this by successfully avoiding the oncoming attacks.

Finally, there was a brief moment of reprieve before another spear came flying at me, this one being twice as massive as the one I had been escaping, and I made the decision to further lower Dohnaseek's morale in the face of this threat.

My bare hand began to smoke as the light magic began to damage my Iron Skin. Points were being taken away from my DP bar, but since it was negligent, they quickly filled back up again. Just as the spear was about to hit me in the face, I stopped it with my bare hand.

I lowered my hand while still holding the spear, and with a wave of the other hand, I used Dragon Wind to generate a gust that cleared away the smoke, dust, and debris so that I could see Dohnaseek.

After that, I was able to see him. When he saw me carelessly holding onto his spear, seemingly ignoring the damage it was causing to him, his form began to tremble, which was exactly what I had anticipated would happen.

He was filled with terror, anger, and hatred. At least, that's how it appeared to me as I followed his gaze as it wandered towards the smouldering hand that was carrying his spear.

What exactly are you? He asked me with a quavering voice as he retreated until his back was against the wall. "What are you going to do?" I noticed that he had used up all of his MP, and then I noticed a bruise developing on the side of his face where I had hit him.

This was where I had hit him earlier. I noticed that some of his teeth were missing, and there was blood dripping down from the corner of his mouth. I also noticed that some of his teeth had been knocked out.

I didn't say a word as I activated Flash Step and suddenly appeared in front of him. My eyes narrowed into the shape of a snake's, and I gave him a brief moment to admire the sight before I thrust his light spear into his stomach.

[A critical hit!]

I watched as his Health Bar quickly decreased as he coughed up blood, and I noticed that the same liquid started to soak through the front of his garments.

Dohnaseek was left with a gaping wound in the middle of his abdomen after the light spear vanished suddenly.

The wound was roughly the size of a basketball.

When he fell to his knees, he was gasping for air, and his pupils were trembling. His stomach and spleen had fallen into the lower part of the hole, along with even more blood.

I grabbed him by the hair, and it was at that moment that I realised his fedora was nowhere to be found. I mentally shrugged my shoulders and compelled his gaze to be directed towards me.

"I really hope that you are aware of how silly it was of you to try to pick a fight with me. I seem to recall you mentioning that one of your responsibilities was to keep an eye on me. Taking all of this into consideration, I've made the decision to request any information you might have. Now to address the question that you had earlier..." After giving it some thought, I came to the conclusion that I should act like an idiot. "I am God."
