Chapter 24: Thunder Spear

My grin was illuminated by the light of the fire as I waved my hand, and the four constructs, for lack of a better term, began to burn towards the still confused Legion Zombie, leaving behind tongues of fire and oxygen that was still burning as they approached their target at even faster speeds than the technique they were based on.
As the strike reached my foe, it resulted in a loud grunt of surprise; nonetheless, it did not experience any pain, and my view of the Legion Zombie was obscured by four bursts of fire and smoke.
Critical hit! Critical hit!
I gave a quick nod in acknowledgement of the alerts, and then I dismissed them. The smoke is now concealing the evident damage that was caused to the Legion Zombie by the fact that two of the four fire twisters had impacted it in the chest and belly, while the other two had hit it on the head and neck.
Yet, I could still see that it was losing health, and it brought a smile to my face as I saw the numbers on its health bar gradually decrease until they stabilised once the sum of the damage I inflicted was taken into consideration.

Taking into consideration that it was the very first time I used the ability and that it was at its weakest point, it was an impressively high level of damage.
Over the course of time, I had no doubt that it would become so powerful that a single one of them would be more than sufficient to finish off a Legion Zombie with ease.
Nonetheless, for the time being, I intended to make the most of this chance by, more or less, experimenting and developing more fundamental abilities. In a purely technical sense, I had an infinite amount of time at my disposal to make this course of action seem less foolish.
I started concentrating mana into my right palm as the black smoke and tongues of fire continued to envelop the unmoving figure of the Legion Zombie.
I was able to effortlessly change the shape of my upper limb into that of a spear as more strength was absorbed from my core and into the end of my upper limb.
I exerted my mana until I felt a tiny strain, but not one that was severe enough to cause my power reserve to start depleting itself.
As I looked down at the spear in my hand, the overall structure of the spear brought to mind Ulquiorra Cifer's Lanza del Relampago, and I couldn't help but laugh since it provided me with the final inspiration I needed for my next method.
Using the new information about the elements that was given to me, I coerced the molecules of my mana to generate kinetic energy by forcing them to collide against each other.
After this, I was able to easily hold a literal thunderbolt in my hand, and a bright flash of light accompanied the sound of a thousand birds chirping in unison.

Because of Gamer's Mind, I was able to keep my composure while admiring the undisputed masterpiece that I had just produced. This was the second ability I developed, and it was significantly more powerful than Rasengan.
I planned to enhance Rasengan with elemental power, of course, but I decided to put that off for the time being because I was unsure whether or not I possessed sufficient strength to perform a technique of the level required to safely use Rasen-motherfucking shuriken. It would have to be put off until a later point in time.
I heard a roar that was filled with pain and hatred, and I turned my attention towards the Legion Zombie as the spear of lightning that I held in my hand let loose stray small arcs of lightning, a thousand birds crying out for blood as it brilliantly and arrogantly displayed the power that I could wield now.
My mouth curled up in a sneer as I saw the charred flesh in the areas where I had struck it with Fire Twister, and the putrid odour made its way to my nostrils despite the fact that I was protecting my nose with my shield.
It was imperative that I recall this information in the event that I ran against foes that used gas-based poisons.
The Legion zombie let out another scream and started moving towards me at an even quicker pace, although because to its enormous size, it was still excruciatingly slow.
I didn't want to throw away any mana, so I pulled the arm that was holding the Thunder Spear back, carefully aimed it, and then threw it at the target.
The attack reached the Legion Zombie and struck it in the upper part of its chest as well as its throat. The thousands of birds raised their voices in a crescendo as the spear screamed through the air at incredible speeds.

It was a demonstration of its strength that the bullet, rather than passing completely through the target, barely embedded itself halfway in between where the neck and the chest met.
The Legion Zombie attempted to scream, but no sound came out; all that could be heard was the chirping of a thousand birds as the spear dissipated, leaving thousands of thousands of volts of electricity running through the entire body of the first boss level monster I ever faced in this world, causing a significant amount of damage.
This was the first time I had ever come across a boss level monster in this world.

I realised that I needed to also take into account the fact that electrical damage was not just immediate, but it continued to do damage as long as the excess electricity was kept in the body.
The Thunder Spear would cause roughly three thousand points' worth of damage as I was now, but I realised that I needed to take this into account as well.
Meaning that damage would continue to be done until the body got rid of the excess electricity, which was the reason why I did more than four thousand points of damage. This was the reason why I did so much damage.
As I looked at the jerking Legion Zombie with a smirk on my face, my fingers began to crackle with electricity. I then looked at the zombie. "I am absolutely in love with this game."
In the aftermath of my assault, there was a perfectly circular hole with blackened and cauterised insides as well as branching lightning-like marks that could be seen on the victim's body.
This was a sight to behold. It was... quite lovely. In a dark and twisted kind of manner, of course, but it's still really beautiful.
And I was far from finished even at that point. As I concentrated on my mana, I was able to expand it outwards without causing any changes to my shields, and I was able to concentrate it on the air surrounding me.
I started to collect air and shape the air particles that made up the air into two twin blades of air particles that began grinding against each other, producing a high pitched humming sound that reminded me of the Rasenshuriken but was not as high pitched or strong as the Rasenshuriken.
A noticeable distortion in the form of a crescent moon appeared on the air itself in less than 10 seconds after the phenomenon began.
