Chapter 26 - The Tablet of Squeak

As Okita watched Koko probably read through the information his thoughts spun furiously. He knew Koneko's past, Sirzechs himself interfered after all, she had always had those hair clips and wore them when she was found amongst the remains of the Nebiros family's branch family, the Naberius' house.

When the soldiers of the Satans arrived after hearing suspicious explosions coming from the house, they found the mansion in rubbles and a nearly unresponsive Shirone now Koneko sitting on the ground.

The Naberius had already attracted alot of suspicion from the higher-ups of the underworld due to their research and when her sister supposedly went berserk and killed her master, Koneko was quickly sentenced for execution labeled as an unstable factor, which is when Sirzechs intervened and placed her in Rias' hands.

The Satans when they investigated also had some suspicions. Although most of it was destroyed, traces of what sort of experiments were going on were still left behind, however, without concrete evidence, accusing a noble house, a vassal of one of the vassals of the original Lucifer no less of a crime was something even the Satans couldn't do because of the backlash it would bring.

Not to mention how adamant Sirzechs was to keep the girl in Rias' peerage and they also didn't have alot of information about senjutsu in general other than it being possible for the users to go insane because of all of the negative influence they are taking in.

In the end Koneko's sister was branded a stray devil for supposedly going insane and killing her master before escaping the underworld using her illusions.

Okita emerged from his thoughts and looked up to see Koko excitedly tapping her feet on top of Beo making it's head nod repeatedly.

"Koko. Would it be possible to send me the infromation inside that hair clip?" Okita spoke up with a serious expression. With this it was possible to put up some actual evidence rather than just word of mouth against the Naberius house, it would also improve their relations with the Youkai faction however little, as solace for the fate of the nekomata that lived in the underworld.

Koko nodded absentmindedly as she sat down and started mumbling to herself, tapping Beo's head a few times making it start lumbering towards the exit of the room, Wolf following behind.

Okita blinked as he watched before he turned around feeling the confused gazes of Rias and her peerage staring into his back.

"The information on that hair clip may help shed some more light on what happened in Koneko's past. A few people were suspicious of what the Naberius were doing but didn't have any evidence to put forward at the time. We may be able to launch a closer investigation if it contains what I think it does." Okita nodded as he started walking towards Surtr, eventually dragging him out of the room by the leg.

Rias and her peerage were stunned by the sudden information before they looked to Koneko in concern. Koneko's body was slightly shaking, her fists clenched tightly to her sides as her face was set in a scowl.

"Koneko..." Rias started hesitantly before she sighed.

They eventually emerged from one of the scrap piles. Okita was looking down at a rectangular display screen Koko had given him skimming over the information as he ignored the squeaky noise it made everytime he touched it, dragging Surtr behind him having manifested a youkai arm out of his back.

Koko had stayed down in her base still mumbling to herself as she darted around picking up various small pieces of scrap and putting them on top of Beo who followed after her.

As he stepped out of the gate he brought a hand to his ear and activated a communication spell, a voice speaking up a few seconds later.

"Oh, Okita. How did it go?" Sirzechs asked in concern as he paced around his office.

"It went fine Sirzechs-sama, no one of value was hurt." Okita replied as he glanced at Surtr out of the corner of his eye.

"Good." Sirzechs breathed out a sigh of relief.

"However, we might have found some evidence as to what happened back then with the Naberius house." Okita said as he looked down at the tablet.

Sirzechs stopped as his face turned serious as he went into thought. In the aftermath of that incident, alot of devils had gone on a war path against all of the nekomata living in the underworld and exterminated them down to the last member which unsurprisingly made the Youkai faction turn extremely hostile towards devils in general.

The only reason that they didn't enter a war was because Serafall had somehow managed to placate them temporarily, however, that didn't mean that they had forgotten about what had happened and most devils that approached their territory were hunted down on sight.

Yasaka was generally peace loving, however this was one of the few times the two Youkai factions were in agreement which didn't help things. If they could give them something to direct that anger at rather than devilkind as a whole would be massive.

"Are you sure Okita?" Sirzechs asked as he emerged form his thoughts.

"Yes."

"I see, I'll call the other Satans for a meeting, Serafall has been trying to stave off the hostility but I don't know how long they will sit still." Sirzechs said as he started walking towards the exit of his office.

"Got it, I'll be there soon." Okita said as he cancelled the spell and turned towards the slumped group trailing behind him and looked towards Rias.

"I called your brother Rias, we'll have a look at what Koko found and get back when we're done."

Rias nodded as she continued sneaking glances at her rook worriedly.

"I see, please tell us if you find anything Okita-san."

Okita nodded and was about to activate a teleportation spell when a square of the scrapyard wall was moved to the side and a narrow barreled cannon popped out aiming at Surtr. Okita raised an eyebrow as he looked on, not feeling anything dangerous.

The cannon locked onto Surtr's forehead before it started shooting some pink substance and moved like a laser engraver as the kanji for weak quickly appeared. After it was done, it moved on lower starting to make round glasses on his face and finishing with a curly moustasche before it was done and receded back into the wall.

Okita looked down at Surtr as an amused smile appeared on his face.

"It sort of fits." Okita shrugged before he and Surtr was enveloped by the Gremory magic crest and disappeared from their place.

A while later three of the Four Great Satans sat gathered in a meeting room enveloped by a serious atmosphere.

Ajuka Beelzebub sat in his seat in silence with his fingers intertwined in front of him.

Falbium Asmodeus, a tall bald man with a black beard was leaning back into his chair with his arms crossed over his chest, nodding off occasionally.

Sirzechs was sitting upright in his seat as he waited for his knight with a serious expression.

Hearing the door opening, the three of them turned towards it as a beautiful girl in her late teens with black hair set up in twintails and blue eyes walked in wearing a magical girl outfit with an unusually serious expression on her often smiling face. Serafall Leviathan walked towards the round table in the middle of the room and sat down on her seat.

A few seconds later she started impatiently tapping on the table with her fingers as she looked at Sirzechs.

"Where is your knight Sirzechs?" She asked.

"He should be here any minute now." Sirzechs replied and just a few moments later the door was opened again and Okita walked in dragging Surtr behind him.

"Okita good tim-" Sirzechs paused mid greeting as he took another look at Surtr's very injured form before his eyes were drawn to his face and raised an eyebrow in slight amusement looking towards Okita.

"Surtr insulted one of Koko's... children? I suppose? She seems very protective of it at least and was probably feeling vindicative." Okita shrugged.

"So they fought, then? How did it play out?" Sirzechs asked in curiosity, it wasn't often he saw Surtr hurt to this degree and was a bit interested in what kind of weapon or magic she used.

"Well, it started with Surtr trying and failing to forcefully enter her scrapyard, got mad and started arguing with Koko leading to him insulting 'Beo' and Koko getting mad, thankfully we relocated to her training space before they started fighting, leading to Surtr getting out-muscled and thrown into a wall. She then deflected his punches, shrugged off his fire breath, and eventually pummed him into the ground." Okita narrated while he placed the tablet down on the table.

The four Satans' eyes widened slightly. As far as they knew Koko was a human and while it wouldn't be impossible for her to beat Surtr in a fight the chance of her doing so being very small, they were all aware of his strength. However, overpowering him and beating him down with physical strength was out of the question.

"Is she that strong?" Sirzechs asked as he tapped his chin, leaning back into his chair.

"Ouh, I also have a feeling that she won't stop growing anytime soon." Okita shrugged nonchalantly as he retreated to standing behind his king.

The Four Satans had their interest piqued to various degrees and made a mental note to look into 'Koko' later before they turned their gazes to the tablet Okita had put on the table.

"Is the information inside that tablet, Okita?" Sirzechs asked him over the shoulder as Ajuka picked it up.

"It i-" Okita's reply was interrupted by a loud squeaky noise ringing out through the quiet meeting room as everyone's eyes turned to Ajuka holding the tablet.

"..."
