5 Two Sides of the Same Coin
(A/N: Canis Lykaon will be different than the one present in the light novel as each Sacred Gear adapts differently to their hosts thoughts or desires. Or at least that's what I'm going for...)

(Kaya: Age 10, Time: 7:56 PM)
A few months have passed since Kaya first talked with her Sacred Gear, Canis Lykaon but he prefers the term 'Inugami.' Kaya reluctantly warmed up to the Sacred Gear after the first month. Kaya could be seen down the streets of Rome as she was skipping.
"Hey.. Inu?" Kaya asked while looking at her companion.
"Yes pup?" The tired ,yet playful, distorted voice of Inugami rang out inside her head.
"Can we go hunt some strays?" Kaya asked hopefully.
"YES!" Inugami's distorted voice underwent a drastic change as it turned battle-thirsty, prepared to rip an enemy to shreds.
"Ok!" Kaya said while not minding the personality switch of her partner-in-crime. Hugging the small ghost plushie close to her chest, Kaya's eyes glowed temporarily as the veiled secrets of the world became open to her.
She looked around as her eyes finally spotted her prey, a few strays conversing with some fallen angels. Their energy signatures were definitely not large, low-class at best.
Inugami whistled, "Hunt! Hunt! Hunt! RIP THEM TO PIECES!" He chanted as Kaya smiled at her partners antics.
"Let's depart then, ππ‘πππ¨π° ππ«ππ―ππ₯." She whispered as her body dissolved into shadows, an ability she learned curtesy of her Sacred Gear and Eyes of Providence. Materializing on one of the slanted roofs of Rome, Kaya continued to ππ‘πππ¨π° ππ«ππ―ππ₯ from rooftop to rooftop towards her targets.
Looking down at the conversing strays and fallen angels Kaya's nose scrunched in disgust. "Inu, summon your avatar." She asked her partner.
"HAHAHA!" Inugami laughed inside her head as a large wolfhound appeared behind her. "HUNT! HUNT!" He continued his chant as he was about to let out a bone-chilling howl.
Kaya slapped the back of his head playfully, "Don't. You'll give away our position like that!" She half-yelled half-whispered towards the clearly not listening wolfhound.
Inugami let out a fierce howl as Kaya rubbed the bridge of her nose in slight annoyance. Inugami charged as his signature blade formed inside of his maw. The clearly alerted group of strays and fallen angels looked at the charging dog with slight annoyance as they prepared to decimate the hound.
One of the fallen angels however, clearly recognized the being charging towards them. "FUCKING RUN!" He screamed as he began to abandon his group for the chance to stay alive.
Kaya stifled a giggle as she sighed, "We're going to need to work on your teamwork later Inu," she grumbled under her breath as earthen spikes and various weapons appeared behind her and from her shadow. "Strike" she commanded as her projectiles flew forth.
For extra measure, she commanded the earth around the 4 strays and 8 fallen angels to chain them to the ground. The world followed her will flawlessly as chains made purely of earth binded the 'filthy prey,' as Inugami would call them, to the ground.
A few managed to dodge the chains causing Kaya to pout and grumble upon the rooftop. The fallen angels and strays that managed to escape were then ran through by the projectiles Kaya sent towards them earlier, causing the perpetrator in question to smile. She left a few for Inugami however as she didn't want her partner to be bored for the rest of the day.
Inugami was pleased that Kaya left it some of the fallen/strays to eviscerate. Barking happily he ran his sword through multiple enemies before appearing next to the one who attempted to run away. Inugami quickly executed him while turning back to Kaya.
"That was fun!" his voice turned back to the original playful tone as he finished off the last fallen. Kaya nodded as she also somewhat enjoyed herself.
Kaya wasn't a good person, she knew that the first time she bisected multiple devils and felt.. relieved. Inugami also knew this but wasn't complaining, hunting is fun no matter who is the prey. Be it angels, devils, gods, or dragons.
Inugami dropped the sword from his maw causing it to dissolve as he appeared next to Kaya who patted his head and began to play with his fur. "Soft," Kaya whispered as she laid down on the wolfhound's back, ghost plushie in hand.
Inugami sighed as he felt Kaya fall asleep on his back. Using ππ‘πππ¨π° ππ«ππ―ππ₯ to their apartment he plopped her down on her bed. "Rest.. pup," Inugami said.
Kaya began to shake as soon as Inugami left her on the bed. "R-Raine," she softly cried out for her dead friend as she slept. Inugami, seeing no other choice, plopped down on the bed that was clearly too small for a wolfhound of his size and laid down next to Kaya.
...
"Breakfast time.. breakfast time!" Kaya sang cheerfully as she skipped down the streets. She ignored the odd looks of the cooing aunties as she made her way to a local breakfast diner.
Stepping into the diner the hyper-active girl stood in front of an old married couple that were running the diner.
The old woman smiled softly, "What would you like π€π’π³π’?" she asked.

Kaya read over some of the options before deciding, "Omelet please! With a side of bacon and sausages!" She asked as she ordered the sausages mainly for Inugami as he liked the taste.
The old lady smiled again as she wrote it down and walked into the kitchen. A few minutes later she walked back out of the kitchen, "Argent is making it right now π€π’π³π’," she informed Kaya, not touching the subject of how it is odd for a child of Kaya's age to eat alone.
Kaya nodded vigorously while drooling slightly from the aroma from the kitchen. After patiently waiting for a while, the old lady running the counter came back with the food she ordered.
"Thank you mrs..." Kaya trailed off.
"Venilia Pantheon young dear," the old lady said with a smile.
"Thank you Mrs. Pantheon!" Kaya said with a wide smile.
"Anytime."
As the old woman began to walk away, Inugami began to speak in Kaya's mind. "There's something different about that old hag," Inugami said with no respect towards the old couple.
"She was nice! Don't call her a hag.." Kaya pouted towards her partner.
"No. She was a hag. I will call her as such. Moving on, there's something.. different about her. Don't get too close pup." Inugami persuaded.
"Ok," Kaya said with no hesitation. She trusted Inugami way more than someone she only met a few times.
"We'll investigate her later.. now hand over those sausages," Inugami said as a floating wolf's head appeared on the seat next to her. Scraping the freshly made sausages off the plate, Inugami scarfed all of them down as Kaya began to eat her food.
