4 Chapter 4: Miyuki and Reunion

Miyuki's POV

My name is Shiba Miyuki or Yotsuba Miyuki, I am the elected successor of the Yotsuba clan, one of the Ten Clans. Well, I was, when my mother died my aunt, Yotsuba Maya, became head of the Yotsuba clan, my father abandoned me and left me in a church orphanage, my older brother, Tatsuya Shiba, is nowhere to be found.

I was enjoying my life ever since I came to the orphanage, the nuns are kind and caring, the priests provide us with accomodation and the children are friendly towards each other. Everyday, we older kids do chores assigned to us to at least help in maintaining the orphanage, my chore is to water the trees, vegetables and flowers. I'm used to this kind of environment even if I was once an heiress of a prestigious clan, actually this life is better, I have no need to attend lessons about management and magic, I wouldn't get spoiled and I can make decisions myself. My life has been great at least.

Everyday many people pass by in front of the church and whenever someone passes by I always greet them with a smile. I'd never have thought that this day would come.

One day, when I was finishing my chores of watering the flowers, a person or a boy stopped by in front of the church, maybe he was jogging as I saw him wearing exercise clothes. I bowed in greetings to him and raised my head but what I saw next shocked me that I even dropped the watering can I was holding.

'He' appeared looking at me quiet shocked, I was also looking at 'him' with a shocked face. I couldn't help but shout "O... Onii-sama!!?"

It was my missing older brother. I confirmed it when he said his next words.

"Miyuki!!?"

I was on the verge of tears, I never thought that I would see him again in my whole life.

Tatsuya's POV

Miyuki looked like she was about to cry so I hurriedly ran towards her and hugged her tightly patting the back of her head.

"Miyuki!? Are you alright? What are you doing here?"

I throw a barrage of questions at her, I can fell he trembling while she began crying in my arms. I realized my insensitivity and stopped asking question and instead began to sooth her.

"It's okay, I'm here now. It's okay, it's okay, I'm not going anywhere. Shuuush, it's okay..." (Tatsuya)

She continued crying for a few minutes while burying her head on my chest, after she stopped crying I separated myself from her and asked her again.

"Miyuki, why are you here? How did you get here?" (Tatsuya)

"I-I was left here, by father. Mother died and Aunt Maya became head of the clan and... and..." (Miyuki)

She was still trembling, it must have been hard for her. And that damned father of ours, he dared call himself a father! I'll never forgive him!

I swear on my mind. I looked at Miyuki and saw her looking at me with fear, the other children and the present number too are looking at me with fear in their eyes. I must have unconsciously released my aura. I retracted it quickly and explained to Miyuki.

"Sorry for scaring you, I was just angry at that damned man that call himself our father." (Tatsuya)

I said in an angry tone. I know I shouldn't be saying this kinds of words in front of Miyuki and the others but I just can't hold it in. While thinking of my anger, an ideas or should I say solution popped in my mind.

"Miyuki, would you like to live with me? I have my own house not far from here and I can take care of your accommodations." (Tatsuya)

Miyuki looked at me surprised that turned into a smile.

"Un, I would love to. Please take care of me Onii-sama." (Miyuki)

It's decided then, I released Miyuki and walk towards the present number and explained to her what happened, I also apologized for scaring her and the children. I introduced myself and my relationship with Miyuki.

"My name is Shiba Tatsuya, that girl, Miyuki's older brother. Nice to meet you."

I extended my hand forward and smiled. For some reason the number has a small flush on her face and the female children were blushing whispering to each other.

"M-My name is Ichinose Kei, a nun of this church orphanage. Pleasure to meet you too, Shiba-san." (Ichinose)

She said while shooking my hand.

"You have to speak with father and explain to him about this so we can release Miyuki-kun and then you can take her." (Ichinose)

"Can you lead me to father then? I would like to finish this as soon as possible so that I can take her home with me." (Tatsuya)

I said sounding serious. She also looked serious when she heard me, looks like she understood my words.

"Fortunately, father is currently inside and free to talk. Follow me I'll lead the way." (Ichinose)

I nodded then followed her inside. The interior of the church is simple but beautiful but that's not what I came for.

Ichinose-san walked to a room at the end of a corridor and knocked three times.

"Father, we have a guest that wants to take home a relative." (Ichinose)

"Oh, is that so? Let them in, let them in." (???)

A voice of an old man around 50 resounded inside the room. Ichinose-san opened the door and made way for me to walk inside. I bowed to Ichinose-san in gratitude then entered the room.

"Oya? It's a little boy, are the guest that Kei-kun is talking about?" (???)

I was surprised. What greeted me is an old man with a fair amount of. wrinkles on his face in priestly robe standing in front an altar, but that's not what surprised me. This priest has sacred power.

Yes, sacred power, meaning he is an exorcist. Fortunately I was suppressing my powers and he can't seem to feel it, but I can feel his.

"Good morning, father. I would like to talk to you about one of the children here, Shiba Miyuki. I would like to take her under my care, I hope you can forgive me for the suddenness but I hope you also understand that I am worried for her well-being. That is why I would like to ask you if I can take her out of the orphanage." (Tatsuya)

I said as politely as possible. I don't want to start trouble especially in front of an exorcist.

"What a polite child you are. Sure I don't mind. She was left here by here father and now that a new relative is here to pick her up I would be happy to release her. Take care of her boy, she is a good child." (Father)

"I appreciate your understanding, I will do my best in taking care of her, I can promise you that. If you'll excuse me I'll take my leave now." (Tatsuya)

I said as I started walking out the door.

But...

"Wait, boy." (Father)

Father stopped me. "Yes?" I answered.

"I can feel magic power inside both of you and Miyuki-kun. Do you by chance know magic?" (Father)

I was startled but did not show it on my face. I pretended to be oblivious.

"Magic? Do you mean the magic trick they do on TV? I'm sorry but I don't really know." (Tatsuya)

I said wanting to leave already.

"I can also feel sacred power in you..." (Father)

I stopped frozen in the spot. I'm pretty sure I'm suppressing my powers and not letting any leak out. But his next words reassured me.

"No, maybe it's just my imagination. Ah, right you can go now. Say my goodbye to Miyuki-kun." (Father)

"I will. Thank you." (Tatsuya)

I bowed and left. I told Miyuki that she can go home with me now and she bade farewell to the children in the orphanage.

We walked together back to my house when I felt someone looking at me, I looked around but saw no one so I continued walking.

"As I thought that boy has sacred power, not only that demonic and sacred dragonic too. He may become a problem in the future. I need to make my reports soon, should I tell them about this...?"

The exorcist that was in the orphanage mumble to himself as he watched the siblings leave.

"Things may get interesting."

He smiled as he thought of what might happen in the future.
