3 Chapter 3 Good to see you again

Issei hoped that his parents could ever forgive him for that. And explain why every month, nearly 10 000 USD, converted into yen, was planted on their account.

Then he drove to his place. A two stories flat with a luxurious living room and all modern accessories plus a garage. Opening the door, not with a magical seal, but with a key, he saw his Ford Thunderbird was delivered there.

He had chosen a white color that matched him.

"Good to see you again." He softly said as he parked his Yamaha next to it. It was Friday in a few hours and he could do some food shopping. The place wasn't suited to racing but he could use his bike to get around.

Closing the garage, he walked upstairs to see the place. He found the style was built after the style in Europe. He had spent a lot of nights in Germany, Scandinavia, and the Alps that he enjoyed the style of a cozy house.

The place had a living room that was converted into a kitchen. Nearly all utensils were inside and the place was cooking electricity. That worked for him. On missions, he had learned to cook.

Especially because Issei would never allow Xenovia near a stove again when he had the opening. That was just asking for a lot of trouble. After that, Issei walked upstairs. The bathroom proved to have a walk-in shower plus a sink to brush his teeth.

And after three days on the road, his shiny bones needed to get cleaned and after that, he went upstairs and laid on the roof. He watched the stars.

The song "A thousand miles" played in his head.

And I need you

And I miss you

And now I wonder

"Can I fall into the sky?" He was too tired to even think about that seriously but closed his eyes. When that was going on, he was sleeping on the rooftop. For the while, he was at peace.

Monday next week.

The weekend went by too fast. He drove around the city after he was done with shopping. There was some food that he liked and went out to eat at restaurants. He doubted that many of his elementary school friends would recognize him.

He had grown a lot of muscles and stood nearly a head taller than most.

In the morning, he would train after breakfast until noon. Then he would get to the school to get his transfer in order. His past was iron-clad. He lived in Kuoh until he had to live with an uncle in Hokkaido. He stayed there until his uncle passed.

The handy thing was that after one decade of this work, and with Issei's mindset, he made friends easily. It wasn't too hard to pull those off and get around on that.

As soon he walked into the school, he could feel the stars of the girls on him while the boys were glaring at him. He ignored them as he found no reason to interfere. He knew what it could bring on high school girls. In his bed, he preferred more mature girls.

Speaking of maturity.

"Excuse me." He was stopped by two Devils. He might hide his scent but they didn't. Too prideful. Too stubborn. Every guy with a trained mindset would be able to figure that out.

Two ladies stopped him dead in his tracks. Turning his face, he gave them a friendly smile. Not too forced.

"Yes."

"Issei Hyoudou." With a nod, he showed his proper respect.

"Correct. Now, sorry to ask but who are you two?"

The speaker was a young lady with a slim figure, her black hair in a bob cut and she had violet eyes. Those hid the strictest way to handle the place.

The other girl, next to her, was quiet. She wore glasses as the speaker did. Her hair was long and straight. That would have been a pain to handle if Issei were to guess. Her eyes were heterothermic and if Issei paid attention, he would have been taken by the figure. Nice one.

'[King] and [Queen ]' He wondered.

"I'm Sona Shitori. Student Council President of this school. Now, could you please follow us? We still need to get some details sorted before we can assign you to your class." Issei was drilled into with proper respect and unlike some, he saw no reason not to offer that.

One caught more bees with honey than with vinegar. And he wasn't going into a fight when that was not needed.

"Alright, lead the way." During the walk, they kept quiet and that suited him fine. He was keeping his eyes peeled when he looked around. He kept his nose open as well. He could smell the Devils. Sona and her Peerage were one thing but they didn't interest him that much. The other smell did. Oh, that was something else.

Different ones but he kept his mouth shut for the time being. There would be a time and place.

Besides that, he saw the girls outnumbering the boys. Turning this place coed? Really? Was that the best course of action?

He followed Sona around. Posh place he had to say. Turning the third stairs up, he found that girls were staring at him. Turning his head, he found that he saw the most beautiful red hair. But he missed it right passing.

"Something wrong?"

"Nope. Sorry, thought I saw someone I knew." That caused Sona to raise an eyebrow.

"You lived here?"

"You lived here? In this city?" Issei found that a white lie was good enough to tell her.

"Well, yep. Till my fifth. Wasn't that in my report." It would be rare to get the drop onto Sona. That made it all the sweeter when he saw her.

"Indeed. Did you live with your uncle in Hokkaido? What about your parents?"

"My folks. Ah, when I passed the house, they were on holiday. We kinda fell out of contact. It happens." Issei was bullshitting his way through her and he was glad that Sona believed him.

One of the ten commandments was not to lie but for Issei, he found that half-truths weren't on the same page. Besides, there was nothing wrong there.
