38 I am the Lancer now

Well, it looks like Gaia and Alaya know I'm here now, I guess bringing in a floating island and laughing maniacally would do that. This is concerning, mainly because there is a chance they might just try to YEET me out of this world or send someone to deal with me.

When I first entered the Nasuverse, I was undetected because of my truck's natural functions. But due to the events last night, they definitely know I'm here now. I think the main reason they haven't done anything to me is due to confusion about my connection to Rhongomyniad and the Gate of Babylon.

So I guess they're just going to observe me until they deem me as someone to get rid of. Which means I need to go find someone to fight soon, because I haven't even swung my lance since I got here! There is always a sort of charm to just looking down at the world as you carpet bomb everything in sight.

Back on topic with the war though, it looks like Tokiomi is still having Kirei pretend he's out of the fight after losing some Assassins last night. One of my atronachs that I'm using as my eyes just spotted him entering the church. Honestly I was a little worried that all my actions have destroyed any semblance of knowing what will happen, but it looks like you just can't change how stubborn magi will most likely act.

Pissing off the readers with the author not straying from canon due to laziness despite all my actions so far?

Check.

Since this is a thing, Kayneth might still send out Lancer to fight someone at the docks. If that's the case, this is the perfect chance to get some combat experience in!

"Teacher Gil! I know where they're gonna be tonight! Let's go wreck shit up!" I exclaimed with excitement as I was finally gonna smack somebody with my lance.

"Calm yourself apprentice, first we must make plans." Caster Gilgamesh said as he looked over some blueprints for something at the main table.

"Plans? We've been doing nothing but building roofs all day! Let's just cut loose and fight without getting completely stoned." As nice as it sounds to just chill and smoke an elder blunt, I'd rather be sober for this.

"Of course we must plan. Our entrance into the fray must be unforgettable, it must make a statement! Did you know that there is a saying of arriving 'Fashionably late'!?" He declared with his chest puffed out.

"I think we made enough of a statement last night though."

"That was last night, this is tonight! Besides, there is plenty of time, why are you in such a rush?" He asked with a raised brow.

"I just... I came here to fight." I responded hesitantly, now that I think about it. Saying that I just came here to fight is a bit weird.

"You do not have a wish for the cup?"

"No, you should know that it isn't usable anyway with your Sha Naqba Imuru. I came here because my experience with fighting with this lance is lacking." I said as I materialized Rhongomyniad into my hand. Unlike Archer Gilgamesh, I'm absolutely sure this version of him doesn't mind just using Sha Naqba Imuru whenever he wants.

"Hoh, an impressive weapon. A shame it's owner is currently lacking."

"You don't gotta rub it in."

"Very well, I will allow it. Let us enter abruptly into battle this night." He declared, putting away the blueprint.

"Were you planning on making something?" I asked, since I've noticed that he's been staring at blueprints for something for the past few hours.

"...No?"

Flaring out his magical energy, Lancer waited at the docks for any servants to come towards him. If he had to be honest, then he was a little excited about the prospects of getting to fight another hero in honorable combat. The unforseen attack last night caused pandemonium to him and his Master, but secretly it got his blood boiling for a fight.

"You did well to make it here." He voiced out once he noticed a blonde and a white haired girl enter the docks. His Master had seen them moving about during the day with his familiars. "While you paraded around town today, everyone else stayed within to fortify their defenses." He stepped out into the open before them.

"Only you had the valor to answer my challenge." He complimented as they silently turned their gazes to his spear. "Such a pure fighting spirit, am I right to assume that you are saber-"

*HONK* A loud horn cut him off as no amount of heroic instinct could save him from the truck as the impact forced Diarmuid Ua Duibhne flying into the night sky. The only reason he wasn't sent to another multiverse was because Gold wanted to fight him later as well.

"What!?"

For some reason, there was an unidentifiable voice that yelled out "LANCER GA SHINDA!" at the moment of impact but no one could figure out where it had come from.

Saber and Irisviel were reasonably on guard at the random truck that came out of nowhere and sent Lancer flying. The two watched as a single blonde exited the truck and stood where Lancer once was.

"Greetings Artoria Pendragon, I have been waiting for you!" Gold called out, shocking the two that he knew of Saber's identity.

"...Who are you?" Saber cautiously asked as it didn't make any sense for anyone to be able to identify her, especially by her real name.

"Who am I?! I am Lancer!" Gold declared bringing out his Lance that appeared from gold dust.

"No you're not, you aren't even a servant!" Irisviel couldn't help but call out his bullshit. Everyone had clearly seen him last night as the Master of Caster.

"Ah, but I have defeated Lancer. Which makes me the new lancer!" he declared as if it made perfect sense.

"That's not how it works!" she exclaimed back, being pulled into his insanity.

"Hey! Look at me." Gold pointed towards her eyes and back to his own.

"I am the Lancer now." He declared with a nod as if nothing could dispute his claims.

Irisviel remained silent at his absurdity, unable to find the energy to continue arguing with him. Saber who had been silent all this time raised her invisible sword towards Gold.

"Lancer." She called out as Irisviel facepalmed at the fact that Saber was going along with it. "What have you come here for?" She asked seriously, seemingly unperturbed by the prior absurdity.

"I have come here for you." He raised his lance towards her as a powerful chaotic storm engulfed his lance. Saber widened her eyes as the lance had become invisible like her own weapon.

"That wind..."

"So prepare yourself, because I'm not the only one excited about this." He grinned as two ethereal figures appeared behind him for a moment before fading away.

Before Saber could register what she just saw, a raging torrent of red and black wind blasted it's way towards her and Irisviel.

"STRIKE AIR!" She called out, summoning the hammer of the wind king.

The two hurricanes collided into eachother, canceling the other out in a showy explosion of wind. Saber was visibly perturbed as her internal thoughts was in chaos.

"Don't get distracted." Gold appeared above her, slamming his invisible lance down. The two invisible weapons clashed, causing the ground to surroundings to break apart.

"Don't think too much about it, for now let's just enjoy this fight." He spoke earnestly as he stared into her green eyes with the full on desire for a good fight.

For some odd reason, Saber felt a desire to respond to his words. A rush of magical energy bursted out from her, sending Gold flying back with a grin.

Currently, Gold was trying to fight without Rhongomyniad possessing his body. He could feel the chaotic storm from the darker Rhongomyniad flow through his body as it allowed him to match Saber's strength.

He didn't want to fight Saber while she was panicking, so he used his thuum to force her to calm down. Apparently it still worked on servants with dragon blood in them.

Gold was a little shocked at the sight of Saber immediately appearing in front of him in a burst of speed. Raising up his invisible lance, he tried to guard against an overhead slash.

*CLANG* Gold couldn't believe it as Saber had swung from below, sending his weapon flying. He knew he wasn't very good at head on fights, but he didn't expect to be this out classed.

"ZUN HAAL VIIK!" He shouted before the invisible sword could cut him while he was disarmed.

Saber was visibly confused as she was immediately disarmed, her invisible blade sent flying. Taking advantage of the moment of confusion, Gold struck first with chaotic winds engulfing his arm.

He dashed over to retrieve his weapon and directed it back towards Saber who had also re-armed herself. "Your skills are impressive for someone who isn't even a servant, Lancer." Saber smiled

"You're gonna make me blush at this rate." Gold cheekily responded with his own grin. In reality he was honestly surprised, he could barely keep up with her and she wasn't even serious yet. Granted he could just rely on all his other methods of fighting, but that wouldn't be very fun.

"Well, now that were done feeling each other out. Let's get serious." He declared as the invisible air around his lance dispelled itself.

Saber's expression hardened as Gold's entire aura seemed to change. An ethereal figure overlapped itself over him, his eyes began to shine golden light but Saber was more focused on the visible spirit that overlapped with him. She couldn't help but feel that she knew who that was.

Before the fight could continue, a booming lightning struck between them as a war chariot appeared between them. Somehow through the sound of thunder, a man's warcry could be heard clearly over it.

The ethereal figure disappeared as Gold returned to his normal appearance. He stared at the two bulls in interest and wondered if he should make himself a ride. While he had Vimana in the gate, he never really used it.

The red haired muscular man stood tall on his chariot as his shorter master was visibly panicked at the abrupt entrance into the fray. "Sheathe your swords! You are in the presence of royalty!"

"I am Iskander! King of Conquerors!" His declaration caused everyone to become visibly confused. "Brought forth to fight in this Holy Grail War as Rider!" Waver turned to his servant in disbelief that he would reveal himself like that.

"I like this guy." Gold commented as he wasn't mad about his fight getting interrupted.

Authors notes: Happy new years peoples. I finally got myself a pc that can run games that I wasn't able to in the past. As a guy who has owned a potato PC for years, I'm not used to all these clear graphics and frames!
