5 Chapter 5: Disappointed

Aureolus whines as he climbs up the stairs to his room and opens the door lazily getting inside.

His room was both cozy and warm, its walls a soft shade of blue that felt inviting and calming.

The room was simply furnished with a comfortable armchair, a small table, and a reading lamp, An array of soft pillows and throws were scattered on the floor, and the air was filled with the warm scent of cinnamon.

It was really small compared to the rest of the Gremory household but Aureolus liked it like this, He had a large black TV and all his toys here too, That was all he needed something much different than every other devil.

His nightstand and tables were filled with sweet candies that he pleaded with Sirzechs to get him, He had a huge sweet tooth, unlike his big brother who liked sour and salty things.

Dragging his tired body into the bed he almost every instantly fell asleep.

"He still hasn't awakened?" Venelana said softly the hand holding her fork trembling a bit in astonishment.

Zeoticus shook his head in a negative his eyes giving away his surprise and dissatisfaction by now he had already known that his son was just useless.

"He hasn't...I think we should consider the other possibility that he is…" he left the last part hanging in the air Venelana already knew what he meant.

"No there's no way…Zeoticus you must've made a mistake." Venelana shook her head violently denying it, She didn't believe she could give birth to something without even a trace of power.

Zeoticus signed he was more shocked than Venelana, Even more so he was extremely disgruntled.

With Sirzechs serving as Lucifer he couldn't take over as the family head, even more, so Sirzechs couldn't interfere with the family's politics.

He had hoped his second son could've taken over for him, leading the Gremory household to brand-new heights, yet how could a person with zero demonic energy even qualify as a servant much less the family head?

Venelana picked at her food with the fork in her hand lost in thought, Like her husband also very disappointed in her child she knew she shouldn't be so…or even feel this way.

But she couldn't help herself she was a mother second a devil first, And devils hated weakness regardless of how much they denied it and wished it wasn't so.

Though unlike Zeoticus she still held hope that Aureolus would one day grow powerful not by his power but by using others.

She shook her head breaking out of her dazed state "Darling I'm sure it's fine...surely Ajuka will figure something out besides maybe he will be able to still use the evil pieces."

"What if he can't Venelana?…what will we do then?" He questioned her not just for question's sake but to get an answer because he too needed an answer, he needed an heir.

"…i-i don't know…Maybe a third child?" Venelana said after some thought a tinge of embarrassment on her cheeks, it couldn't be helped…Aureolus was too disappointing even in her eyes.

Sirzechs sighed resting atop his desk a two-foot-tall pile of paperwork to the left of him, His blood-red hair sprawled across the table as he groaned in annoyance, No matter what he did the paperwork never decreased even an inch.

Grayfia stood to the left of him her hand covering her lips in a silent chuckle, She wasn't as cold as she let on being very warm and loving when alone with her husband.

Sirzechs sat up leaning back in his leather chair his eyes closed "Grayfia…This isn't funny…by Lucifur, this hasn't decreased in the past hours!"

"You are Lucifer don't swear to yourself, dear." She replied chuckling her eyes filled with mirth and amusement.

Sirzechs sighed rolling his eyes "touché…" his lips almost curled into a smile "Oh and Dear the Greek pantheon has given us an invitation to visit. They want to strengthen the relationship between us and them."

"THE WHAT PANTHEON?!" Sirzechs particularly yelled his eyes widening comically.

Out of all pantheons it had to be the one filled with a bunch of deranged perverted children with godlike powers.

"The Greek, wanted to invite you for a special occasion it'll only take a couple of days at most," Grayfia replied chuckling to which Sirzechs paled even more.

"Oh my me…do I have to? You know how they are…" Lucifer sighed in annoyance he'd rather visit any other group of gods than those gods.

"Well it is optional but I would go If I were you dear." Grayfia said softly.

Sirzechs groaned in response rubbing his temples he would much rather go anywhere else but that place for crying out loud Aureolus was more mature than Zeus.

Now that he thought of Aureolus he quickly fell into deep thought maybe he could take his baby brother with him.

Aureolus hadn't seen the world at all outside the Gremory mansion and it would do the kid some good to learn about the world around him.

'If things all go right…maybe I can force Heracles to train Aureolus.' Sirzechs was no fool and had noticed his younger brother's strong physical strengths.

While it wasn't completely overwhelming it was slightly stronger than average, if Aureolus had awakened Demonic energy along with proper training in physical strength he'd be strong enough.

He had considered making Surter second his rook to train Aureolus but decided against it, It'd be blatantly obvious Aureolus was his brother and it'd give it away.

Along with the evil pieces to help him, With all three regardless of how minimal his demonic energy was he'd still grow into a middle to high-tier devil in terms of power.

Though Sirzechs didn't account for the fact that all of this relied on whether Aureolus could awaken even a sliver of demonic energy, Anything less and this would be useless.

"Fine, I'll take them on the offer." He finally determined he would take Aureolus and Grayfia with him on this trip.

Sure he's parents may disapprove of him taking Aureolus considering that they wished to hide him till he fully awakened but a little bit of hair dye should be enough to convince them.

All that needed to be hidden was the fact that the Gremory household had a second child right?

Mc was born in 1991 seven years older than Rias who was born in 1998 currently 1997 because Mc is six.
