31 Unofficial Conference 2

Mike wondered about this 'DxD' when he was asked about it by Euclid. Nothing really came to his mind. Not even a woman's breasts because this guy is a little bit pure.

"Nothing. What does that mean?"

"Find about it yourself. Now, the next question, how strong are you? Are you at least on Archangel Michael's level?" Euclid instantly changed the topic.

"I think so. I am stronger than Onee-chan. But Michael Nii-chan and I never fought seriously. Even I don't know my full potential." Mike answered.

"Hmm... I see... Mike, you are saying that everything that is stopping peace will be solved with your actions but you do realize that it won't be that simple, right?" Euclid asked meaningfully.

Mike smiled. "Are you asking about how my actions could lead to a civil war?"

"So, you do understand." Euclid sighed.

"What's there to not understand? The old devils lost Zekram's backing. And they can't control rating games anymore. Of course, they won't just sit and see as the public views about reincarnated devils start to change and their influence gradually decreasing. Even if you have the information about the corrupt businesses they run, their pride will not allow them to sit and watch. Most of them will try to go for Old Satan Faction. And even if they did, their power won't be enough to go against Bael and the current Four Satans. Zekram Bael will be their greatest obstacle since the devils will follow Zekram due to his purer blood. This means there might be an assassination attempt on Zekram Bael. They might also try to kill the ones who are rising in Rating games. In the end, some kind of war might take place, either they attack directly or indirectly using cheap tricks." Mike explained the possible results of his actions.

"And you still decided to do what you did?" Euclid asked.

"Well, if a war directly happened, Heaven will also ally with you to stop it since if the Old Satan Faction won, their next target would be the world. And if they decided to attack indirectly, I can also help indirectly to stop it. Either way, that might give us another reason to work together, don't you think?" Mike kept smiling.

"Why do you look like you are rather prepared for a war than trying to achieve peace?"

"The one who isn't prepared for a war doesn't have the right to ask for peace." Mike conveyed his motto.

There was a moment of silence after that. It seems that every single Maou couldn't utter a word after seeing Mike's mentality. So, Mike is the one who broke that silence.

"I am mostly a human, Euclid Asmodeus. My time in the world might be limited. I can't just wait calmly for peace which didn't happen for centuries. I will do whatever I need to get the job done within my morality. And I don't mind taking the risks." Mike doesn't really mind if he has to become a villain for the sake of peace. In fact, if he let go of his morality, Mike will completely be a villain.

"But I really don't like war. So, we will try as much as we can to prevent war. I want you people to ensure Zekram Bael's safety. Oh, by the way, since I used Diehauser, I have the responsibility if anything happened to him or his family. So, I would be glad if you could ensure their safety too. If anything happened to them, I will have to act." Mike calmly presented his request to the Maous.

The Maous other than Euclid sighed. And Euclid started talking again, "Well, here's the most important question. Why do you trust me? After what I said yesterday about Rating games corruption and trying to stay in power, your best choice would be to invite just Sirzechs, Serafall, and Ajuka, right?"

"Who said I trust you? I don't trust you at all. You are here because you are the one who wanted to see me, right?" Mike said casually.

"Huh?"

"You used Diehauser as a bait for me, right? I already asked Diehauser about how he came to Kuoh. And I found it weird. Old devils aren't that careless. They would obviously keep an eye on Diehauser. Even if they didn't, someone will definitely know Diehauser is up to something with his actions. And yet I found it weird that he is the one who came easily to Kuoh."

Euclid just stayed silent at Mike's explanation. So, Mike continued.

"You see, a few days before meeting Diehauser, I captured a devil who came to spy on Kuoh. Unfortunately, that spy killed himself with poison in his mouth before I could interrogate him. And after that, I waited for another spy but no one ever came. Instead, Diehauser appeared. Don't you find it weird? The one who sent the spy didn't send another one and didn't even try to make some move when one of their spies is missing? And coincidentally, someone helped Diehauser without even Diehauser knowing about it. So, I couldn't help but think Diehauser is the move that they made. That someone is skillful at manipulating the Security system. They already know that something is going to happen in the underworld yet they did nothing but watch the show. This means that the person behind this is sure that whatever happens, they won't be at loss. I wonder who fits this description perfectly." Mike looked at a little bit shocked Euclid meaningfully.

"So, you really are the reason for yesterday's events," Sirzechs sent a little glare at Euclid.

Euclid sighed. "Haa... Cleria Belial's death case was weird. So, I sent a spy. Well, my spies kill themselves the moment they are caught. If I sent another spy, they might successfully capture him alive the second time. And coincidentally, I found Diehauser doing some suspicious activities. I admire the Champion, so I helped him and sent him where he wants. If Champion went missing, people will look into the case actively. Well, that won't happen since we already know about his power. If Champion came back and did some incident because of his sister's death, that will help me know more. And if he came back and did nothing, I can still contact him telling him that I am the one who helped him and know more. Even if he doesn't have some useful info, hey I will have Mr.Champion as my ally. It's a win-win in all the cases, don't you think?"

The whole room became silent at Euclid's confession. The three Maous glared at Euclid for a moment and sighed. Euclid let out a dry laugh and turned to Mike.

"So, you caught me. Is there anything you want to say to me since you summoned me here?"

"I am your fan, Euclid Asmodeus. I like the way you think. You managed to become a Maou even though you are weaker than both Grayfia Lucifuge and Falbium Glasya-Labolas. Well, you switched sides in the civil war saying that you prefer peace but in reality, you like to be on the side that wins. Even yesterday, you made that exact comment I expected about Rating Games corruption and using it to stay in power because you wanted the Old devils in your favor. So, if a war actually happened, you can easily betray the side which will lose. So, I am here to assure you that this side won't lose even without you. And also, your methods might irritate people, but I advise you to not irritate me too much. I am not patient like the other angels." Mike said with a smile. Mike had to meet this guy because if Euclid further continued his investigation, Shidou and Hyoudou's families might be in trouble. Mike can't be in Kuoh all the time, so Mike had to do this to ensure their safety.

Euclid smiled back, "A warning huh... Alright, I will make sure not to 'irritate' someone whose power level is unknown. I would like to have you as an ally in that case."

Euclid extended his hand. Mike shook it. "I hope we will have a 'healthy' relationship from now on."

Both of them were smiling. Sirzechs who looked at the scene couldn't help but sigh. "Haa... I thought one Euclid is already enough headache for me. Great, now there are two of them."

Mike and Euclid just smiled back at Sirzech's comment. And Euclid turned to Mike.

"Well, one final question, Mike. Why are you working so hard for the peace and well being of others? Is it because your "Michael Nii-chan" wants peace?"

Mike asked himself that question numerous times. So, to Euclid's question, Mike gave a bright smile and tilted his head a little "I don't really know why. I just know that I wanted to do it. That's all that matters, I guess."

That's all Mike could say.
