35 Peaceful times in Kyoto

A few days passed. Mike gathered the evidence he could. Yasaka spread the rumor with her men when the time was right according to Mike's plan.

The evidence collected by Mike wasn't that strong. But the rumor was enough to make people believe that it's the truth allowing Yasaka to take revenge on those who killed her husband.

And now, Yasaka and Mike are relaxing while having tea in a room. They are having herbal tea since Yasaka is pregnant.

"Thank You, Mike-chan," Yasaka said with a smile.

"Please don't mention it. It's a 'give and take' policy after all." Mike smiled back.

"Oh, about those Nekoshou, I will take them in and..."

"Well, thank you very much but since you are pregnant, it would be better if you took them in after you gave birth," Mike said before Yasaka could finish her sentence.

Yasaka smiled at his consideration. "You can stay here until then in your disguise. I will make sure your identity won't be revealed. Only my trusted servants would know that you existed."

"I don't think that's..."

"I insist. I would like to offer my gratitude." This time, Yasaka didn't allow Mike to complete his sentence.

"Well okay but there is a place I would like to visit in Kyoto."

"Where is it?" Yasaka asked.

"Your husband's grave," Mike answered.

Yasaka's expression became sad when heard it. But she nodded at Mike "I am also thinking of visiting it. Let us both go together."

And so, they visited the grave. Mike put some flowers on the grave. After that, Mike took out a box and gave it to Yasaka.

"This is..."

"The day that your husband died, before he was involved with the mess, he was trying to do some other work secretly, right? I investigated a bit more about it and found out that he went to get this present for you. I think this was supposed to be your birthday present."

Yasaka's eyes opened wide. She immediately opened the box and found a custom made hair ornament set.

"Belated Happy Birthday, Yasaka-san"

Yasaka touched the ornament. Tears that welled up in her eyes started flowing through her face and fell on the ornament. Mike stayed silent as Yasaka cried in front of her husband's grave.

Yasaka stopped crying after a while. "How... How did you find this?" She asked.

"Well, I am good at investigating. I followed the hints that your husband left and came across a shop and found out about this. So, I bought the ornament set and brought it to you."

"Thank you, Mike-chan... Thank you very much." Yasaka said while hugging the box.

Yasaka put on the ornament set in front of her husband's grave. Both of them said farewell to the grave and went back to Yasaka's room.

"Hmm... Catching a woman off-guard and making her cry. Mike-chan has some bad habits, I see..." Once they are back, Yasaka went back to her teasing mode.

"Don't make it sound like I did something terrible. Oh right, here you go, Yasaka-san." Mike took out another box and gave it to Yasaka.

"What is it this time?" Yasaka took the box and opened it. It was a hairpin.

"This is present from me. Belated Happy Birthday, Yasaka-san. Well, I am bad at choosing presents and didn't know what to choose. So, I chose the hairpin that would look good with the ornament set that your husband chose for you." Mike explained the reason for choosing that hairpin.

Yasaka looked dumbfounded for a moment. But she came out of it and smiled with a blush.

"Ara Ara~ It looks like Mike-chan will become a good lady killer when he grows up." She teased him again.

"Well, I am glad you liked it." Mike didn't care about the teasing and was happy that his 'present' didn't disappoint her.

Mike's kindness surprised Yasaka even more.

(A few days later) (September 9)

"AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!" Yasaka screamed as hard as she can. She was going through hell. She didn't expect that giving birth would hurt that much.

Meanwhile, Mike who was hiding nearby was getting more nervous while listening to those screams. He knew that it would hurt but hearing those screams in real life was terrifying for him. He wished for both Yasaka and the baby to be safe. He would be praying to God if he didn't know that God is dead.

A few moments later, Mike heard a baby crying. He could hear Yasaka talking too. Mike understood that delivery was a success. Mike gave out a sigh of relief.

After a while, Yasaka sent everyone except her and the baby out of the room and called Mike. Mike appeared in front of Yasaka who was holding the baby.

"Congratulations, Yasaka-san. It's a girl huh."

"Yes, don't you think she's cute?"

"She is," Mike said with a smile while looking at the baby's cute sleeping face.

"I agree. Our daughter is the cutest thing, right Papa?" Yasaka went back to her teasing mode.

"Why did I become the Papa now?" Mike didn't understand her.

"Well, being nervous while the wife is giving birth is the role of a husband. But you are the one who filled this role here. So, doesn't that make you the Papa?" Yasaka said with a smirk.

"Anyone would get nervous if you shout that much. I know it will hurt but listening to your cries was something else" Mike said.

"I underestimated the pain too. Your mother must have gone through the same pain too. So, make sure to thank her when you meet her." Yasaka said while laughing. She didn't know about Mike's past. Not even the fake info that Mike was adopted by Vasco. She just thought that Mike is his Vasco's blood-related grandson.

Mike's smile turned into a sad one. "Well, this is supposed to be secret but I don't have a mother, Yasaka-san. I can't say a lot about it but I was never born, to begin with. I am a being that came into existence due to unknown factors. I can't say more. Hope you will understand."

Yasaka stopped laughing when she heard that and gave a worried look. "Mike-chan, I am sorry. I didn't know..."

"Please don't apologize, Yasaka-san. It's not your fault. Well, to be honest, I am a bit glad that I don't have a mother. If I had one, that would mean she would go through the same pain to give birth to me. So, I am a little glad that no one went through the pain because of me" Mike confessed his honest feelings.

Yasaka hugged Mike the next moment and patted his head "You are too kind for your own sake, Mike-chan."

Mike didn't say anything back. After patting him for a while, Yasaka changed the topic to lighten the mood. "So, Papa, why don't you name our baby?"

"Stop calling me that. And me naming the baby? Please don't joke." Mike went with the flow and lightened the mood.

"I am not joking. I want you to be the one to name the baby, Mike-chan."

"I am warning you. My name was given to me by an old man with no naming sense at all. I don't want the baby to feel bad about her name in the future." Mike agreed that he isn't a fan of his name.

((Somewhere in the world, an old exorcist sneezed "Achoo! Is someone thinking about me? I wonder where Mike is... It's been a long time since he contacted."))

"Fufufu... Don't worry, just suggest a name. I will keep it only if it sounds good." Yasaka said.

Mike thought for a while and said "How about 'Kunou'?"

Yasaka was shocked for a second but started laughing the next moment. "Pfft! Hahaha! Kunou? You literally named her 'Nine Weights' just because she is a nine-tailed fox. Hahaha!"

"Please don't laugh. I warned you from the start!"

"Hahaha! My bad, my bad. I was just not expecting that. But Kunou isn't a bad name. Alright, Kunou it is." Yasaka agreed to that name.

"You are kidding, right?" Mike hoped that she was just teasing.

"Not at all. From now on, my child's name shall be Kunou!" Yasaka declared.

"I hope she won't hate me in the future because of that name," said Mike hopefully and apologized to the future Kunou in his mind.
