1 The Boy

Today was a day like any other for the two nekomata sisters, The eldest was experimented on while the youngest cried in her room. It was hell, they both hated it but couldn't do anything yet. As the older sister came back into the room and tenderly hugged her little sister their father, a human and the head scientist, came in with a group of guards carrying a 4 years old boy with black hair and white tips. Looking at the girls he told them to take care of the boy and told them should he die between experiments they would be punished, looking at the boy then their father the eldest with her black hair and golden eyes nodded before watching the him and the guards leave with her resentment clear on her face.

A few hours later the boy awoke with a start and looked around the room before seeing the girls watching him curiously, the older girl got up and approached trying to calm the boy and not make him panic, he however backed away with each step she took, he backed up until he felt the wall, as the girl continued to approach she saw his eye's, the right eye Red as Blood and the left eye as Blue as a Lapis Lazuli, she couldn't help but be drawn by his gaze where she noticed fear, anger and grief, she was now a metre away from him however he started to growl threateningly causing the younger sister to curl up into a ball scared, her white hair covering her knees as her silvery gold eyes looked at her sister with worry. "Big Sister." The older one looked at her little sister and decided to calm her down first, backing away from the boy she sat next to her sister hugging her while gently saying "shh it's OK Shirone... he's just scared and thought I might try to hurt him... he doesn't know us meaning he's gonna be like this for a little bit so I need you to help him feel better while I'm gone okay?" "Oh... but Kuroka... why is he sad too?" Shirone had seen his eyes as well and didn't understand, seeing Shirone curious Kuroka turned to the boy and asked gently "Did you lose someone close to you before coming here?"

The boy thought for a minute remembering what happened before he woke up, looking at the girls he sat down against the wall facing them and cried, Kuroka wanted to go comfort the boy but Shirone was already moving, she sat half a metre from the boy and started saying "it's OK" and the boy looked at her, tears pouring down his face, but when she tried to move closer he moved away, he realised that they were also prisoners here but remained wary, he didn't know where he was, the pain of watching his family die protecting him fresh in his mind, as young as he was he understood his current situation enough that despite his lack of strength, he wouldn't be caught off guard.
