3 Chapter 3: Kuoh Academy.

After getting off the monorail, Motohama continued on his way to his school. The fact that the city had a monorail was just one of the details that Motohama had noticed that were different from the original work. The city was much more technologically advanced than in the anime, manga, or novel. The city was also much larger, and the number of inhabitants was also very large. Perhaps the most interesting fact was that, even though there was a Kuoh Academy founded by Kuoh Saori, the academy that was previously only for girls was not located in a city called Kuoh City but on the artificial island of Akatsuki. Akatsuki Island was a completely man-made city (with the help of Luna), built from a linked series of giant floating buildings known as Gigafloats. Akatsuki Island is theoretically part of Japanese territory.

Motohama remembered in his past life as Alex having read a fanfic written by one of his friends in his teens, in his "Nerd Phase" as his sister called it in which the DXD story took place on Akatsuki Island and it looked a bit like the plot of Strike The Blood. It was unexpected that this friend turned the fanfic into a game made with the help of other fans. Sometimes in his adult phase he would play that game to relax and clear his mind of the strain caused by the work he inherited from his family - in fact he completed all the routes of the game in secret.

As someone who was actually born on that island, he was familiar with the location and way of life. For him, seeing some people walking on the street wearing silver bracelets was common, as they are normally worn by people with a health problems who cannot take certain medications. However, the truth was that, with access to the memories of his past life, he knew that the people in question did not have a health problem and were actually not human. Those bracelets were specially designed for supernatural beings who wanted to live a normal life on the island. In addition to monitoring the use of supernatural powers in a criminal way, the bracelet also helped them impersonate normal humans.

On his way to Motohama after spending some time admiring the female beauty (the curves of women...especially the butt he liked a lot) he stopped at a bookstore to buy a new magazine (unsuitable for minors). The clerk was a long-time acquaintance of Motohama and his... was an acquaintance of his who never asked the boy to show his identity. The clerk also wore a silver bracelet, and Motohama knew that the clerk was actually a pig-type orc who were known to be highly perverted. Maybe because the clerk was a pig-type orc he got along so well with Issei, Matsuda and Motohama.

Upon arriving in front of Kuoh Academy, Motohama saw that Sona Shitori and Tsubaki Shinra were positioned at the academy gate receiving students. As always, the sensation emitted by the presence of the two is incredibly uncomfortable for Motohama. He couldn't tell that what he was feeling was as sickening as the lost demon's presence from earlier, but it wasn't pleasant either. It was like being on a crowded bus, and someone was exhaling a strong smell of sweat after a day's work. It was unpleasant, but with a little effort it was still bearable.

By force of habit, Motohama used his assessment ability on the two, getting some information about them.

As expected, the result of the two had not changed much from the previous day to the current one. The Status Assessment allowed Motohama to target various information about his target. There were some rare cases where some symbols appeared next to certain pieces of information. For example, next to Tsubaki's Mirror Alice There was a question mark inside a card. By focusing on the question mark, he could receive a brief description of the Sacred Gear. Despite being a very useful skill, he already knew all that about them anyway. Perhaps the most useful would be if he met someone dishonest or something far more dangerous, like someone using magic to pretend to be an attractive woman but was actually a man.

Motohama walked past the two, ignoring their gaze and the sensation that their presence gave off. As he walked around the gym, Motohama used his ability on different girls, some of them being more special than most. In addition to having a third-year student named Kiyome Abe who was a beast tamer, there were a few girls who had contracts with weak elemental spirits. Unfortunately, or fortunately, some of them weren't flashy enough to attract the attention of the academy demons, or maybe they turned down their invitations to join them. On the boys Motohama used his ability rarely only when he felt they had some special ability... but he didn't really care much about the other boys – in fact he wanted them to disappear to lessen the competition.

Arriving at their classroom as expected, Issei and Matsuda still hadn't arrived, which was good. Things between the three of them had gone from bad to worse. If it had all ended in the fight, the three could have been friends again, but with the complaint and the lawsuit filed by Motohama, things would hardly go back to the way they were before. The fact that Motohama had benefited financially only made things worse. Motohama knew he was being constantly watched by one of the academy's demon familiars, which was somehow part of his plan. It was a way of keeping under the watch of both kings and an indirect means of protection. If anything happened to him, the main suspects would be the academy demons. So if he was in danger, even against their will, they would have to intervene to avoid trouble.

Apparently, since Matsuda had lost his position on the student council, he had been using the free time before classes to train. Issei, though he received some light training, spent most of his time admiring oppais in the street before class.

– Yo sensei – Aika Kiryuu said playfully when she saw Motohama approaching to sit in her place.

Motohama rolled her eyes for a moment in exasperation before looking around to make sure the others were ignoring their conversation. Motohama used her ability to check the data on Kiryuu. He knew this was the real Kiryuu, but he'd recently gotten into the habit of checking to see if the person he was talking to was the real one or a shapeshifter like the one who'd tried to hit him recently.

Name: Aika Kiryuu

Measurements:B81-W54-H81.

Age: 16 years.

Breed: human.

Genre: Feminine.

Rank: E.

Manna: 99/99.

Description: Aika Kiryuu is a first-year student who is in the same class as the now-disbanded perverted trio and some girls from the kendo club. She is currently learning magic with Motohama taking a special interest in him.

– You still asked me why I trusted you? – Motohama said after giving Kiryuu a look.

– Because our skills are similar, but I'm a better tracker than you – said Kiryuu with a small smug smile.

– On the other hand, he's worse in the theoretical study of magic than me - Motohama said with a slight smile when he saw that Kiryuu had been hit by an imaginary arrow - his grades are also worse than mine – Motohama said, hitting another imaginary arrow in Kiryuu – Also, I helped you increase certain attributes...

– OK! It's more than that and my heart won't take it – Kiryuu said theatrically with one hand raised and the other on his chest. Some boys had noticed that Kiryuu's breasts and butt had grown a little recently, but no one was complaining, quite the opposite.

Motohama had been forced to reveal to Kiryuu that he had been learning secret magic after she was the only one to notice that he had not only improved his appearance a little in the last few months but also become more mysterious. She demonstrated incredible investigative skills by gathering bits and pieces of information, doing research, and more before putting him up against the wall. As Motohama still didn't have the confidence in himself to use a memory spell, he preferred to make Kiryuu his ally. In return, Motohama helped her learn magic, and she had been using her skill of "Focused Appraisal" to help Motohama search for certain special spots in the city that would help him find a very special location he had been looking for for the past few months.

Due to their partnership, their relationship improved, and Motohama was sure she caught Kiryuu looking at him differently while teaching her basic magic more than once. Furthermore, after helping her strengthen her innate ability and awaken new traits, Kiryuu's ability became more akin to a spy's ability, allowing her to assess information, assess energy traits, assess clues, etc. Her skills had been very helpful in mapping the city and marking dangerous locations with possible stray demons or other dangerous beings. Using this map, Motohama more than once avoided going to places where she could fall into traps when making her sales, whether in the hands of city demons or any other threat.

Another point Motohama wouldn't admit to Kiryuu was that her talent for practical magic was much greater than his. He took advantage of her ability to help him learn magic, understand its formulas, and find his mistakes, but she had been learning very fast without the help of her skill which showed that she had a talent for magic. In addition, her magic power was growing at twice the speed of Motohama.

– Here – said Kiryuu, handing a notepad to Motohama.

– And what would that be Kiryuu? – Motohama asked arching an eyebrow.

– This is the data I collected recently. There are some clues to the points you asked me to look at – Kiryuu said proudly.

– I hope you didn't go to any dangerous places at night to collect this data... – He said taking the notepad and analyzing the information.

– After discovering what is hidden in the city, it is already a miracle that I leave my house. Of course, I could feel safer if someone taught me certain ways to attack – said Kiryuu crossing his arms.

– Huuum… I don't know many myself… – Motohama said, analyzing the information in the notebook before smiling – but as you did a good job I'll show you a special attack or two.

– At last. I was tired of having to study those formulas just to make a ball of light – said Kiryuu with relief.

– A ball of light can be very useful either to illuminate a dark place or to cause a distraction, causing it to explode, causing a blinding flash of light – Motohama said with a shrug.

– Are you talking about games again? – Murayama asked, arching an eyebrow and putting his hands on his hips.

Name: Sanae Murayama

Measurements: B83-W70-H80.

Age: 16 years.

Breed: human.

Genre: Feminine.

Rank: G

Manna: 3/3.

Equipment: Blade Blacksmith (Sacred gear) [+].

Description: Sanae Murayama is a first-year student who is in the same class as the now-disbanded perverted trio and Aika Kiryuu. She is currently in a friendship-benefit relationship with Keiko Katase, but is also interested in boys, especially Yuuto Kiba.

– Haven't you been playing too much these days? This could end up becoming an addiction – Katase said next to Murayama.

Name: Keiko Katase

Measurements: B78.5-W65-H79 cm.

Age: 16 years.

Breed: human.

Genre: Feminine.

Rank: G

Manna:3/3.

Equipment: Weapons Birth (Sacred gear) [+].

Description: Keiko Katase is a first-year student who is in the same class as the now-disbanded perverted trio and Aika Kiryuu. She is currently in a friendship-benefit relationship with Sanae Murayama, but is also interested in boys especially Yuuto Kiba.

– We haven't talked about games that much – said Kiryuu crossing her arms and looking away, annoyed that the conversation had been interrupted.

– Just before class – Murayama said.

– At the change of teachers – Katase said.

– In the break – Murayama said.

– At lunch – Katase said.

– And after school – Murayama said.

– Ham... maybe we're a little too focused on this game – said Motohama scratching his head, thinking about the time he spends outside school studying and practicing magic.

– I still have other hobbies like participating in the literature club, you know? And Motohama is in the painting club – said Kiryuu starting to sweat.

– That you missed a few times – said Murayama also being part of this literature club.

– And the pervert... Motohama was scolded for his paintings being... too explicit – Katase said, blushing, remembering Motohama's painting of two women having sex.

– That teacher doesn't know how to recognize my art – Motohama said, crossing her arms when remembering the teacher responsible for the club an old lady who liked to paint young boys.

– That, as well done as it was, was just… pornography – Katase muttered, still blushing, looking away.

– Thank you for saying it was well done – Motohama said, smiling as he fiddled with his glasses.

– Convinced – Katase muttered.

The conversation, as much as Murayama and Katase seemed to be getting on Kiryuu and Motohama's feet, was something fun in the group. Recently, Murayama and Katase have been making jokes about Kiryuu and Motohama's closeness and the affinity the two have shown. Motohama ignored the romantic involvement part, but enjoyed the jokes, which he considered better than the hostility the two had had towards him before. The two, as well as most of the students in the class, still had some hostility towards Issei and Matsuda. Apparently, hurting a childhood friend to supposedly try to impress two of the most popular girls in school wasn't very well regarded at the academy.

One point that Motohama found interesting was that he could perfectly sense that Issei had a Sacred Gear, but he almost didn't feel Murayama's or Katase's. In fact, most of the time, it was as if the presence of their Sacred Gear was greatly suppressed by Issei's Sacred Gear. If it wasn't for her skill, Motohama wouldn't have noticed either that the two of them had Sacred Gears. In fact, one of the reasons they still hadn't been noticed by the academy demons was Issei. The fact that they had a low level of magic power should also be taken into account, as their Sacred Gears were power consumers, not producers. The other reason was that I had just walked into the classroom looking exhausted.

Name:Matsuda Yoshida.

Age: 16 years.

Breed:Demon reincarnated (half human, half demon).

Genre: Male.

Rank: E.

Demonic Power: 159/159.

Equipment: Silver summoner (Sacred gear) [+].

Ask:Horse.

Description: Matsuda Yoshida is a first-year student who is in the same class as the girls at the kendo club. He is currently a reincarnated demon in the service of Sona Sitri. He's been running into trouble at the academy after a fight with an old friend generates big problems, causing him to lose his position on the student council and be disliked by the other students. He is currently banned from receiving training from his master and peers. He's been training alone, using the books in his king's library.

Matsuda's Sacred Gear was clearly different from what Murayama and Katase possessed. Motohama could feel a little bit of power coming from Motohama. It wasn't something that drew a lot of attention, but it still had a stronger presence than that of many special students at the academy.

Even though he couldn't find anything on the internet or in books about Matsuda's Sacred Gear, Motohama still knew a little bit thanks to his skill and memories of his past life. Sacred gear had interesting summoning abilities, but as it got stronger, the problems that could come with it also got bigger.

When Motohama and Matsuda's eyes met, they both looked away, making a "Tsk" sound. Motohama returned to his conversation with the girls as Matsuda went to his seat, looking sullen. Shortly after, Issei entered the room, which attracted Motohama's attention for a moment.

Name: Issei Hyoudou.

Age: 16 years.

Breed: Demon reincarnated (half human, half demon).

Genre: Male.

Rank: F

Demonic Power: 9/9.

Equipment:Boosted Gear (Twice Critical Form-unlocked) (Sacred gear) [+].

Ask:Pawn.

Description: Issei Hyoudou is a first-year student who is in the same class as the girls at the kendo club. He is currently a reincarnated demon in the service of Rias Gremory. He's been having trouble at the academy after a fight with an old friend generates big problems, making him look bad to the other students. He is currently banned from receiving training from his master and peers. He likes to spend his time looking at the breasts of city women at every possible moment.

Motohama didn't know what Rias was doing instead of training Issei. As strong as he was compared to a normal human, he was still ridiculously below what he should be doing after being a reincarnated demon for over three months. He knew that he had caused problems for both groups and that both the Gremory group and the Sitri group had received some form of punishment, but in those three months, the only improvement Issei had was moving from rank G to rank F and getting five points. power. As the time when Asia would arrive on the island was approaching, Motohama couldn't have faith in Issei's current strength to save the girl.

When Motohama and Issei's eyes met, they both looked away, making a "Tsk" sound. Luckily, the teacher arrived, which made Issei go to her place next to Matsuda. Motohama took the chance to send a quick message to a friend asking for a favor before class started. For a moment, Motohama looked at his own status.

Name: Motohama Kusanagi.

Title: Successor to Luna La Quarta, Fourth Monarch (Blocked).

Age: 16 years.

Breed: Human.

Genre:Male.

Rank: E.

Manna: 149/149 - ????/????(Blocked)

Equipment: Shin Hogyoku (lost artifact) [?].

family spirit: ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked), ???? (Blocked).

Description: Motohama Kusanagi is a first-year student who is in the same class as the girls at the kendo club. He is currently a virtually novice magician and keeper of one of the greatest treasures in his world. He is the successor of the fourth monarch, Luna La Quarta.

Seeing one's own status wasn't something Motohama was very excited about. He was supposedly the successor to one of the strongest people on the planet, but he couldn't access her powers. When he tried to get in touch with the familiar spirits he inherited from her at best he was ignored and at worst he got a headache so bad it made him pass out. The only power he apparently inherited was his healing factor, which was a very welcome thing. If it weren't for his healing factor, he might still be in a coma after hitting his head more than once when he rolled down the stairs months ago. Even that power had been getting stronger thanks to all the training he had been doing and his increased magical and spiritual power.

The date of Motohama's supposed death was coming, even though he didn't know the exact date. He didn't want to trust the powers he had inherited from Luna, so he had been training his body and learning magic, but a part of him wanted to awaken his fourth monarch powers to ensure his survival.

Motohama didn't have much to say about the current history teacher. The man was a fat, balding man, wearing a rather tight suit. Normally, he was a good teacher, but he was still very biased when it came to the three biblical factions.

– During the Great War, humanity learned about the supernatural world and the beings that exist in it. Many prefer to live their lives as ordinary people disguised as humans, but it is not uncommon for people of different races to be seen in the city being accepted by the majority of the population. Our city is seen by many supernatural beings as a refuge where they can live their lives in peace and coexist with human beings in harmony. However, unfortunately, there are many who prefer to remain disguised as humans to escape the ignorance and persecution of uninformed people. There are many who fear exposing themselves and being victims of intolerant people because of the crimes committed by criminals known as Lost Demons or by ancient stories full of prejudice against their people... – said the professor passionately, being a clear defender of demons and their society. This is probably why he was chosen to teach at a college that was secretly attended by demons.

The professor just forgot to mention that the stories weren't as baseless as he made them appear. In the past, demons seduced humans to form contracts with them in exchange for the souls of humans or to make sacrifices etc. Even though a lot has changed, it was a fact that the society of pure demons of the high class in the underworld had mostly questionable behavior from a human point of view. Furthermore, pure-blooded demons tended to look down on reincarnated demons, many considering them superior only to humans.

The point about the Lost Demons was something Motohama debated a lot inside. There are many reports of crimes around the world committed by lost demons. The number of people who were turned into reincarnated demons in the present day that the supernatural was exposed was very large. Unfortunately, some were people who let themselves be carried away by the promise of living thousands of years, power and wealth without taking into account the prison they would have to pay. Many of those who regretted their choices and tried to flee or kill their sires paid the price by becoming Lost Demons in many ways. It was said that the Lost Demons became monsters because they went mad before leaving their nobility or because they betrayed their masters,

Knowing that for those who chose to become reincarnated demons, the price for rebelling could be to go crazy and become monsters, Motohama wasn't sure if he felt sorry for them. After all, it was their own choices that made them so successful. Of course he could sympathize with those who were turned against his will – which the professor vehemently denied was happening. For those who were tempted by their greed and hunger for power and ended up regretting it, Motohama could also sympathize with those who didn't harm or kill innocent people. For those who reveled in the suffering and death of innocents, Motohama had no sympathy whatsoever, not caring if they had gone mad or not.

After class, Motohama discreetly left Kuoh Academy and started to walk away. He had plans for that day. He planned to visit the middleman who normally sold his talismans to negotiate better prices for his talismans in exchange for providing some new versions that he had developed. Unfortunately, other people had darker plans for him.
