66 Chapter 66

Crashing through dozens of buildings Rizevim eventually came to a stop, his body plummeting deep into the ground as Damian's foot obliterated his bones and a chilling energy permeated the spawn of Lucifer's body.

Twisting his body Damian powerfully dropped Euclid onto his leader's body, their bodies crashing into one another as the sound of bones cracking was drowned out under the bombardment of spells, holy fire, and all manner of attacks.

Stepping back for a moment Damian gazed at the mass of twisted limbs impassively. Even as a magic circle formed around them and a familiar power danced across their flesh he did nothing but watch.

"Just what I'd expect from the descendant of that fool. Naivety to the extremes." Rizevim spat out as he rose to his feet, his amused smile unchanging even as his cheek burned bright red and portions of his outfit crumbled to the ground by his feet.

"So you accepted Ophis' power." Damian spoke blandly, with no hint of worry in his tone even as destruction, bloodshed, and what could only be called a war occurred around him. Chuckling like a madman Rizevim didn't even bother responding, merely raising a hand toward Damian.

A magic circle danced into his being before his outstretched palm, the symbol of Lucifer replaced by the Ouroboros of the Infinite. The first spawn of Lucifer had betrayed his heritage for more power.

Immense power far beyond what Rizevim originally had gathered in his palm as the magic circle grew larger, its once palm size growing until it stood taller than any mountain. Underneath his feet, Euclid's body withered as though all the liquid was stolen from his body.

In response to the power gathering before him Damian merely raised his hand, his pointer finger stretched out and his thumb raised upward. No demonic energy, no magic circle, no threatening aura. It was no different from a child's finger guns. Yet Rizevim's instincts screamed.

"Bang." Damian chanted, his voice empty as the mountainous magic circle shattered into millions of pieces and the mountain behind Rizevim vanished. No, not just the mountain. The entire Astaroth territory that the mountain resided in vanished.

"You damn monster." Rizevim muttered angrily, tightly clenching his stump of an arm. He had heard rumors of Damian's power however what did that matter? He was the twelfth strongest being alive, why did he have to care about the descendant of a fraud not even a century old?

[Partner, your Dragon Heart cannot endure another one of those attacks.] Ddraig warned from within Damian's soul. In terms of completion, Damian's dragon heart would be at about 5%, it could handle the stress of that much energy only once before it became damaged.

"Am I the fraud?" Damian inquired emotionlessly, completely ignoring his inner dragon's concerns as they were insignificant. Time froze in Damian's eyes as all color vanished from the world, the signs of battle around him instantly freezing.

Calmly walking toward his opponent Damian paid him no mind even as his finger twitched ever so slightly, his blood enabling him the mere possibility of perceiving this world. Grasping his enemy by the wrist Damian lightly pulled.

Slowly his skin ripped apart revealing the flesh and muscle beneath straining to hold itself together. For dozens of agonizing seconds, Rizevim's flesh struggled endlessly to hold itself together but eventually, blood erupted from the wound as his flesh was torn apart and his bones detached from one another at the elbow.

"To me, it seems like you're the descendant of a fraud." Damian declared coldly as time returned to normal around him, Rizevim grunting in extreme pain as blood dripped from both of his arms yet the hatred he felt made him ignore all of it.

"Fraud?! FRAUD?! Just because my father stole the throne your ancestor possessed you dare call me a fraud?! He was a mere placeholder! My father was the true king!" Rizevim shouted angrily, his flesh wriggling and growing as though it had a mind of its own.

"Then he should have taken the throne himself." Damian retorted coldly, Rizevim's flesh falling limp as the spawn of Lucifer gained a pink glow in his eyes for a moment. The pink glow lasted only a second before it vanished entirely yet that moment changed everything for Rizevim.

Sweat appeared on his brow in an instant as a realization appeared in his mind. He could control his demonic energy. From the moment he was born, he always had an overwhelming amount of energy to help him but now it was gone. He felt… mortal.

"You were the one who told Moris Naberius about us weren't you?" Damian asked blandly, lazily swiping his blood soaked hands through his hair. Moris Naberius was smart but Ajuka was smarter so why could Moris figure out something Ajuka couldn't?

It wasn't because of his research with the dragon hearts, it wouldn't be possible to see that from a mere recording. Moris was told by somebody. Somebody who would know the truth, somebody who would want them gone. Somebody from the clan that stole their honor.

The alternate reality Rizevim had created was tainted crimson like blood dropped into a bowl of water, its boundaries shaking and shivering as the earth crumbled and blood red liquid rained from the sky.

An oppressive pressure surpassing anything Rizevim had felt from Ophis descended on the area, the splatter of blood echoing through the faux reality as all the mages of Nilrem, evil dragons, and forces from Khaos Brigade were crushed into an ocean of blood and flesh.

"You went out of your way to destroy my slice of heaven so… I'll destroy yours." Damian announced coldly, crimson rings held within his crimson eyes as Rizevim trembled from the fear born from the depths of his soul.

Why had Lucifer named himself a Satan? Why had Lucifer never denounced the devil who stole his birthright? In front of those eyes, those crimson and red eyes that seemed to shatter his soul with a mere glance, Rizevim understood.

Lucifer feared the devil named Satan.
