11 Chapter 11

"The goddess must be having a great laugh right now at my expense." Hannah was pacing back and forth, furious.

"Hey, it could be worse." She stopped dead in her tracks and looked me dead in the eyes.

"Okay, no need to kill me with your looks…" I put my hand up, waving an imaginary white flag.

"I'm sorry. I just thought my mate would be different." She sighed and dropped her head in defeat. She sat on the floor beside the door where her mate was sound asleep.

"I can hear her heartbeat, and it soothes me, her scent is intoxicating, the way the sparks electrified me when I carried her to the bedroom, she's beautiful. I feel betrayed, Lorie." She put her head into her hands. I sighed and put my hand on her shoulder.

"I get what you mean when you say you feel like you've been betrayed. You waited centuries for her, and she didn't, plus not even a week ago, she was naked in my mate's bed. My first impression of her is horrible, but maybe now that she found you, she's a different person. Also, Lorie?" She took a deep breath and wiped a tear, and lightly chuckled.

"Sorry, it just seems we are on a nickname basis now. But, yeah, don't remind me. The thought of her with someone else pisses me off." Hers flickered from her normal Hazel to white, then black, before returning to their natural color.

"Remind me to never get on your bad side. You are scary." I bumped my shoulder into hers, and we both laughed.

"Come on, let's go get some dessert and watch something while we wait for her to wake up." I got up and reached out my hand, offering to help pull her up. Smiled and grabbed my hand.

We made our way back downstairs to the kitchen to get dessert. After we grabbed what we wanted, we went up to my bedroom to watch something on the T.V. We settled on watching The Office. Finding out she was a huge Office fan was a huge bonus for me. I soon heard a knock on my door, and both Hannah and I called outcome in with our mouths full.

"Hey… Oh." In walked Noor. She looked amused.

"Hannah, could you please go down and answer some questions?" She looked at her and clenched her jaw. I could tell she has some ill feelings towards Noor, which I totally get; I still have some towards Naiomi. Well, more than some if I'm honest.

"Right away, your royal highness." She said with sarcasm and defiance. She walked out, and it seemed Noor picked up on the disrespect and was about to go after Hannah, but I stopped her.

"No, leave her be. She has every right to be upset with you. She did just find out that Naiomi is her mate and you two fucked for centuries." I shoveled more of my cheesecake into my mouth while she looked at me with her mouth agape.

"Well, more people have companions nowadays. I'm sure she understands." I rolled my eyes.

"Hold old, are you? And what about Naiomi?" She looked at me as if wondering if this is relevant.

"Four hundred and fifty-six and Naiomi is a few years younger than me; why?" I hummed.

"Well… Hannah is almost five hundred and thirty-two years old, and she's never taken on a companion. She has completely waited for her mate. So finding out she was naked in another woman's bed, who already has a mate, I might add, makes her feel like she's been betrayed." Noor looked at me, shocked.

"That's a very long time to wait." I shrugged my shoulders.

"I guess." She looked at me with her arms crossed.

"As if you're a virgin." I laughed at this.

"You're right; I'm not. I'm not going to be a hypocrite here. I don't really care if you slept with someone else; what I care about was that you couldn't choose between her or me." Her face fell, realizing that she still fucked up. I don't understand why she keeps thinking everything is perfectly fine and forgotten when it's not.

"Right. I'll spend the rest of my life, making it up to you." I just nodded my head. I'll believe it when I see it.

"I have a question. So your parents don't look a day over the mid to late thirties. When do supernatural creatures stop again, and when do they start again?" Made her way over, sitting beside me.

"We age very slowly. We stop aging around maybe twenty-two in human years; for us, that's around a hundred and fifty. We don't start aging again till we are a century in human years, and then it'll slow back down for another century. This is only for the fae, though; it's different for other species." Well then.

"Damn, that's crazy. What happens to us since I'm human?" She smiled.

"When we mate, you'll age like me. We will have a very long life together." I smiled at this. Regardless of how it started, I know we will get past it sooner or later. She's got lifetimes to make up for it.

"Sounds cool to me. So when are we mating?" She started coughing. I think she choked on her own spit.

"Not till later. I want to make you fall in love with me first and foremost and get to know you better. Plus, a lot of things will change once we do. I don't believe you're ready for it." I rolled my eyes and huffed.

"I'm a grown woman. What is so crazy that's going to happen that you don't believe I'm ready for?" She just shook her head.

"We'll discuss it later, not now." I was about to protest till Naiomi entered my room.

"Thank you for knocking…" I said sarcastically. "No manners…" I whispered under my breath. She rolled her eyes at me and continued her way into my room.

"Where is she?" I just rolled my eyes back at her.

"Not here." She hissed at me.

"You better calm down right now, Naiomi. If you hurt my mate or disrespect her, there will be severe consequences." Her eyes went back to her normal blue, and she took a deep breath.

"Please, just tell me." I was about to answer her when Hannah barged into my room; following behind her was Kelvin, Taro, and Romero.

"Why is everyone congregating in my room?" I threw my hands up. No one paid any mind to me.

"Love, why do you not let me touch you." Hannah had moved out of Naiomi's reach once again.

"I waited for you for almost five hundred and thirty-two years, and you couldn't wait for me. That and you were in another woman's bed laid out completely exposed, even after you knew she had found her mate! All I feel is betrayal." Naiomi looked completely defeated. I almost, almost, felt bad for her.

"Okay, we don't have time for a telenovela episode. Queen, your kingdom is in distress and demands answers and your attention with the escalation of the attacks." Noor nodded and got up off the bed.

"Okay, fetch Jason and Zelda; we will need their mood controlling powers to help promote calmness. We will have a meeting set up outside our gates in two hours." Taro nodded.

"Yes, your highness. Come on, let's go." Led Romero and Kelvin out the door. Right before Kelvin fully disappeared out of my bedroom, he waved and gave me a big smile that I returned.

"Okay, my love, I must go and get ready to tend to my people. Our people, won't you join me?" She held out her hand.

"I thought you didn't want me exposed?" She hummed.

"I believe the bad guys already know. Now it's time for the rest of our kingdom to know." I nodded.

"Okay, I'll do it." She smiled and kissed my forehead.

"I'll have some people sent in here soon to help you get ready." She kissed me on the forehead one more time before departing. The only people left in my room were Naiomi, Hannah, and me, and let me tell you, it is extremely awkward.

"Okay, if you both are going to continue this, whatever is going on between you two, it needs to be outside of my bedroom." Hannah looks at me, then Naiomi.

"I think you should leave. I'm going to help Lorie get ready; we can talk later." Naomi's face fell there for a second then peaked back up again when she heard that Hannah would talk to her later.

"I'll see you later, my beloved." She got up and grabbed Hannah's hand, and kissed it before Hannah could pull it away. Hannah's body tensed, and I swear if she wasn't dark-complected, you could see her blush.

Once Naiomi left, I looked over at Hannah, giving her a sly grin.

"Ow! You zapped me, you bitch." I rubbed my ass cheek that she hit with this bolt of static? I don't know what it was, but it hurt.

"Shut your mouth, or I'll zap you again." I put up my hands in defense.

"I didn't even say anything." She gave me a look with the zappy light things that looked like electricity, crackling at the ends of her fingertips.

"Okay, okay. Shit." She smiled and then patted my head.

"Good girl." I rolled my eyes at her.

Two ladies walked into my room; seriously, why is everyone just barging in here.

"Are you ready, my highness?" I cringed at this.

"Just call me Lareine, and yes, let's do this." Well, this should be interesting.
