10 Chapter 10

"You're a demon?" I looked over at Taro and was confused as to who she asked that too.

"Only half. My dad's a warlock." I looked at Hannah with a gasp.

"Don't worry; not all demons are bad. We get a bad wrap." I hummed and looked to Taro, who nodded in agreement. That made me feel better.

I felt an immense amount of relief wash over me as we pulled into the garage at the palace. As I got out of the car, I was pulled into a blanket of warmth and electricity. I just let myself melt in her comfort.

"I'm so glad you're okay."Her whole body went rigid. This made me snap my head up to see her eyes glowing like the galaxies. She was staring down, Hannah. She was about to stalk towards her, but I pulled her towards me.

"She's a friend, I promise. She saved us." She looked at Taro, Romero, and Kelvin.

"Is this true?" Taro took the lead.

"Yes. I can sense her spirit is pure, my queen." Taro replied with her head slightly bowed.

"I want to be debriefed now. Send agents to clean up this mess and find out what the hell happened. Now!" She roared. I could feel all of us shrink back. She looked down at me apologetically.

"Sorry. My love, please head inside with your friend for now." She gave me a small kiss, then looked up at Hannah.

"We will take your statement later; for now, stay with her and protect her. If you do anything to her, I will kill you and everyone you love." Noor growled out with her eyes glowing. I could see Hannah visibly gulp and anxiously nod her head.

"Yes, my queen." She got caught on some of her words. I lightly smacked Noor's arm.

"Stop that right now. She's a good person." Noor looked down at me and sighed.

"I could have lost you; you can't blame me for not fully trusting a stranger." I shook my head.

"She's a good one. Now go take care of your business." She nodded and kissed my cheek. Romero, Taro, and Kelvin made their ways with her out of the garage.

"Thank you for saving us." Hannah looked back at me and brought me in for a hug.

"I would give my life." I was shocked by hearing this.

"I'd gladly return the favor too. I don't know about you, but I am starving!" I tugged on Hannah's hand and led her to the kitchen. She looked absolutely awe-struck.

"Who's the sweet fanatic in a candy shop now?" She looked at me and rolled her eyes.

"Whatever. This place is huge and stunning." I hummed in agreement.

Once in the kitchen, we made ourselves some sandwiches and sat at the island, inhaling our food.

"So, tell me about yourself," I said with a mouthful. She laughed and shook her head at me.

"Well, five hundred and almost thirty-two years old. My birthday is actually next month!" I smiled at this.

"That's amazing. I just turned twenty-four." She just gave me a weird look.

"Are you not going to ask me about my age?" I just waved her off.

"No. There's no point. We are two different living beings, and I've learned that supernatural beings age differently. I've accepted it. Moving on, any siblings?" She beamed a smile at this.

"I have two younger siblings. They are fraternal twins. My little sister's name is Hadley, and my little brother's name is Hayden. My mom has a clear liking to names that start with the letter H." I laughed at this.

"What about you?" I sucked in a breath.

"I'm the oldest of seven." I thought her eyes were going to pop out of sockets.

"Dear Lord, your parents were busy!" I let out a loud, full-body laugh.

"I guess so. I'll work my way down from me to the youngest. Next would be Nina she's twenty-two, Brandon he's 21, Luke he's seventeen, Lilly she's fifteen, and then Gracie she's eight."Oh, I miss them so much.

"What about your parents?" Her eyes lit up.

"They are disgustingly adorable. My dad's name is Marcellus, and then my mom's name is Isla. What about you?" My face fell a little bit. I miss my dad.

"I hope I get to meet your family one day. My mom's name is Lena, and my father's name… Well, his name was Yakeru." She realized what I meant by was, and I could see the empathy wash over her facial features.

"I'm so sorry." I waved her off.

"No need. Now have you met your mate?" She shook her head, no.

"No, and I've been waiting centuries, but that's okay. I have no problem waiting many centuries more for them. So, the queen is your mate; she seems very charming." I snorted at this.

"We are on somewhat good terms. I actually almost left to go back to the human world." She leaned forward, giving me her full attention.

"She took in a companion while waiting for me." She gasped and covered her mouth.

"Yeah, I know. Anyways, her companion is still here, and she hesitated on choosing between the two of us. Her parents came home and got through her thick skull." She had a disapproving look on her face.

"It's still pretty frowned upon to take on a companion. I can't believe she hesitated between her companion and her soulmate." I crossed my arms.

"I know, right. The chick was stark fucking naked in her bed, and she didn't even come after me; she hesitated." Hannah tsked at this. She was about to say something when the harlot herself walked in.

"Speak of the devil, and she shall appear." There was a stare-off between Naiomi and Hannah, and it looked very intense. Hannah already has my back.

"Are you fucking kidding me?" Hannah looked up toward the ceiling. "You've got to be kidding me?" I am so confused now. I look back at Naiomi to see her eyes glowing red and walking toward us. She reached out for Hannah, but she flew out of her seat away from her.

"Don't touch me," Hannah said, seething. I raised my eyebrows at her behavior, not Hannah's but Naiomi's.

"Yo, stop trying to touch my friend. You really need to stop touching things that don't belong to you." Naiomi turned around and hissed in my face. Okay… I may be a little, tiny bit scared. Very minuscule, though.

"She does belong to me." Her fangs popped out and tried to bite me. Before she could, she was yanked back by Hannah, whose eyes were pitch black.

"Don't fucking hurt her. You need to calm down now." Naiomi was still looking at me wildly. Hannah's eyes then switched to pure white. A weird white bubble of energy moved its way around Naiomi's body. Soon Naiomi's body slumped over, and Hannah caught her.

"What the hell is going on?" I asked Hannah, getting up to help her with Naiomi.

"Really fucked up, but she's my beloved." My mouth completely dropped.

"Yeah, that is fucked up. I'm sorry." She just shook her head.

"It's whatever. The goddess obviously has some reason…" She then lifted her head up towards the ceiling. "No matter how fucked up, I think it may be." She scoffed and picked up Naiomi and flung her over her shoulder like she weighed nothing.

"Now, where are her sleeping chambers? And please tell me it's not your soulmates…" I huffed at that thought.

"No, her's is actually down a different hallway now." She nodded.

"Good. Lead the way." I led the way while Hannah followed close behind, whispering curses under her breath.
