1 the very beginning

Olivia's pov (thoughts)

At this point in life I'm ready to go out and see what out there and not what's in the pack because I hate it here. The constant yell at me I can't live like this anymore anyway I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Olivia Sophia Smith I'm 18 years old and my parents have always abused me in many ways. I have been living with it since my younger brother died when I was 9 years old. We are a lucky breed because we are shapeshifters

As I was thinking to myself, I snapped out when I heard my parents calling me.

"OLIVIAA" yelled my parents and I yelled back "coming" but I knew what was coming as soon as I got down there, I didn't need to guess I knew. I walked out of my room down to the living room to find my parents sitting there and I knew dad wanted a beer and mum wanted to plan dinner so that's what I did then dad says to me "make sure to cook a big meal because I'm hungry ok brat" and I just said "y-yes dad" afraid that he would start yelling at me.

Grayson's pov

I was going to have a few drinks at Alpha Logan's house with his Luna and his daughter. I have never really met his daughter they say that she is lovely unlike her parents, but I have never really seen her.

I pull up at their house and sat in the drive away and waited because I was early, I was told 2.30 and it was 1.30.

BACK INSIDE

With Olivia

Dad didn't like what I planned so he started yelling at me and he said "YOU NEED TO LEARN OTHER THINGS TO COOK BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO EAT THE SAME THING EVERY NIGHT" then he slapped me in the face and that was the first time in a long time he had hit me. I could tell buy the look in his eyes that he enjoyed it.

BACK OUTSIDE

Grayson's pov

I was sitting in my car when I started to hear yelling coming from inside the house. I looked up at the house form my phone and saw this blonde haired 18 year old woman run out the front door and sit at the step she was sitting there crying in her hands but didn't know I was there. So, I got out of my car and sat down next to her and put my hand on her back and started rubbing it. She removed her hands from her face and looked at me and I knew that she was the one for me. I asked her "what happened?"

She answered "m-my d-dad didn't like w-what I had planned f-for dinner, so he started yelling and s-slapped me in the face"

I could see the fear in her eyes and I pulled her into my arms and said "we can go in together" as I looked at the time and it was 2.29 and she nodded.

Olivia's pov

my dad scared me and I didn't want to go in all by myself when it was 2.29 in the afternoon it was beer hour for him and when this handsome young man that was my age said "we can go in together" I was relieved so we stood up and headed inside together he held my hand and squeezed it so that I knew I was ok.

We got into the lounge room and he looked like he was ready for round two, so I hid behind him and all my dad says is "Alpha Grayson?"

I thought to myself that's his name.

He said "yes Alpha Logan"

"How'd you meet my daughter?" said my dad

"She was sitting out the front when I pulled up" Grayson said as a reply.

I thought to myself oh crap he is going to know I was scared and I started shaking as I ran to my room and I heard my dad say "excuse me" I heard him coming up the stairs and came into my room and I started screaming out of fright and he put his hands on my bare thighs and started squeezing them which caused bruising and he said "let's go down stairs" I just nod we come down the stairs.

Grayson's pov

I see them walking down the stairs and all I see is the two black bruises on her thighs and she runs and hugs me. I ask her "what happened up there" and she just nods and says "I don't want to talk about it "but I knew and I said to her "go pack a bag your coming to stay with me" she nodded and went and he father didn't like the idea.

Alpha Logan said "no she can't she is needed here she is the one who cleans etc."

I give him a disguised look and said "NO she is not staying here all you do is abuse her" she come down and we left.

I could hear him yelling as we got in the car and left. She seemed to relax but I knew she was my mate because she smelt like roses and vanilla. I wasn't able to find my mate until a couple of months after my birthday. And then out of nowhere she says "y-you s-smell nice" and I ask her "what do I smell like?" she said "rain and oak wood" and I thought to myself she doesn't know what that means and I ask her "what is your name?" and she said "Olivia" as we got out the car at this big house.

Olivia's pov

We got out the car and I knew why he smelt that way, but I was too scared to admit it. It's only been the last couple of months my wolf Sophia was looking for our mate. It's only been a couple of months since my birthday. Anyway, we walked inside the house and OMG I was gomb smacked by how gorgeous it was. He smiled and laughed at me. I asked "what was so funny" and he replied with "your reaction to the pack house" next thing I know as I walk inside and turn around to look at Grayson, someone was standing behind me and I didn't like the feeling I turn around and screamed because he scared me but I ran behind Grayson as well. Next thing I know I hear a chuckle come out of Grayson's mouth. I asked him "what was so funny?" and he replied with "the fact that my younger brother Mason scared you".

Mason's pov

I saw this blondie walk through the front door and I liked her so I used my speed to sneak up behind her and the next moment she turned to face me and I scared her. She ran and hid behind my brother and he laughed and said "the fact that my younger brother Mason scared you" she stuck her head out and looked at me I knew she was my brothers mate but I couldn't help but like her. She stuck her hand and from behind my brother and said "n-nice t-to meet you M-mason."
