Chapter 7 Leaving Town

As I soaked in all this information an ad on the side of the screen caught my attention. It's title read 'Sanctuary', I can still remember what it said even now.

[The wrath of demonic forces are upon us as Demon Miasma spreads and infects everyone transforming them into thralls for their demonic army and if we don't come together and fight against it together then no one will survive. So we invite everyone to come and fight with us under the safe banner of sanctuary.]

The voice of the person sounded female and her voice had a sense of urgency in it. At first I thought it was some kind of religious thing but when she mentioned Demon Miasma I knew it wasn't since I wouldn't have known what the black mist was without the weird interface. I was intrigued since they probably knew more about what was happening than I did. After the prompt ended a few addresses were shown from all over the world but the closest one to me was in City B which was a couple kilometers away from K town. So a road trip I guess. With a destination in mind I realized I need a car and I had a wide selection to choose from. 

I walked to the back of the police station where the vehicles are kept. There was a wide range of vehicles in the garage from race cars to armoured trucks. I soon found the one that I wanted an armoured police car, the keys were kept in a padlocked container but I simply broke the lock and took the keys getting inside the car was comfortable and I also found two walkie - talkies inside. The reason I chose it despite not being unreasonably fast it's because it was tougher than other vehicles and I'm sure that I was going to find bigger, tougher and more evolved undeads. And how right I was. I drove out of the garage satisfied with my gains as I sped down the street. I could have left town immediately but decided to go back home first.

I went inside my house to grab some food, clothes and most importantly take a bath. I was covered in blood and reeked of death. I took a long bath knowing that I won't be able to do this again in a long time after my bath I got dressed. I wore a black pants, white shirt and a black hoodie, I also clipped the gun holsters around my waist and place the hand guns inside. Now I looked handsome and dangerous. Pleased with my new, clean appearance I left my house with a bag full of clothes, food and water. 

And just like that I left K town my home for many years now. I drove in the direction of City A since driving through it was the quickest way to City B but it was also the most perilous as well, I knew that a city was going to be inhabited by tons of undead thralls and maybe even more powerful monsters as well. But hey, that also means I could grow stronger as well giving me a higher chance of surviving this apocalypse. As I drove on the highway to City A, there were many abondoned cars and a few corpses as well but I simply dodged them with my superhuman reflexes and if I couldn't I simply rammed through them. And like that I reached City A and I have to say the place was a mess. There were abondoned vehicles everywhere and corpses everywhere with smoke rising from some places.

I activated my [Aura Vision] searching for any sign of living creatures or any undead ones. I continued driving around and soon I spotted a red aura and drove towards it and soon I spotted more and more until they started to number in the hundreds causing my face to grow pale. I turned off the car engine, grabbed my stuff and stepped out of the car and continued in the direction curious why so many were gathered in one place and soon I found out why. Getting closer I spotted a small cluster of light blue aura which I could only guess were humans. Deactivating the skill I saw that I was at the City A University and the undead thralls were prowling the campus grounds. It was currently summer so there shouldn't be many students on campus but if I had to guess the blue auras were students who stayed behind on campus.
