"Where am I? Mom? Dad?" He got up and sat down the bed. Apparently, his sister was fast asleep and was not awoken by him. He pat Lilia's head as he was relieved that his sister was safe.

He wondered about what happened. It felt that it was a dream. But it was not. He looked around the room to see if there are some clues as to where he is.

The room was a typical bedroom. Inside it was a bed and a study table with a running personal computer on top. The computer in this time also evolved. It has a size of a small matchbox but when you press a button it will generate a holographic screen and laser keyboard.

Dark walked towards the computer and sat at the chair next to the study table.

The screen showed a circle like button indicating that it was supposed to be pressed. Dark who was interested in the button pressed it. A video then appeared. It was his mom and dad in the screen.

"Dark, Lilia. If you are watching this video, then something must have happened to us..."

Dark cried as he watched the video. His parents explained to him what happened.

"351073" Dark pondered what it means. He recollected what his parents taught but he found no clue.

"Mommy? Where are you?" a sweet little voice asked. It was Lilia, Dark's sister who was rubbing her eyes to wipe her tears.

"Brother, where is mommy and daddy?" Dark hugged her as she asked.

Dark then showed her the video he just watched. Despite being young, they were able to understand and cope up with the things that happened. It was as if they were raised to survive these kinds of ordeals.

Dark let his sister cry. It was better to cry now instead of sulking about this always, he thought. After a while, the little girl's stomach grumbled.

"Brother, I'm hungry." She blushed as she told her big bro.

"Alright, how about we go outside this room and check if we got some food to cook and eat." He smiled back to his sister.

The house was a two-story house with 3 bedrooms, a living room, dining room that is connected to the kitchen, garage, and basement.

As they explored the house, Dark found fresh vegetables and fruits inside the refrigerator. It also has some meat. He then decided to cook a simple meal for his sister. "Lilia, just watch some television in the living room while I cook." His sister obeyed and watched a news show.

It may be weird for kids to watch news shows but they were educated to be updated of the news around them. They were also taught to watch documentary films to enhance their knowledge especially when it comes to this new era.

It was already night time when they finish eating their dinner. Dark used the computer to gather information. To enter the basement, he needs to become an S-class exceed.

But to be an exceed, one must enter an academy at the age of fifteen. After three years, he or she could decide to take one of the 4 routes. If one didn't become an exceed he or she can go work as collared-worker or proceed to study another 4 years to become a professional.

However, if one becomes an exceed he can either go join the military or become an independent exceed. Independent exceeds may join a guild to get missions to earn a living or work for a rich family.

Dark's goal is to become an independent exceed. One can get many benefits if he joined the military or work under a rich family but that was not a choice. He can't trust anyone especially now when his family is being sought after.

After an hour of searching, he finally found an academy that fits his requirements. First is that it should be near and second is that it must give him the best education that he could get.

Red Private Academy, a famous private school that raised the best elites in the Red Country. One can guarantee a good future when they graduate even if they were not an exceed.

The house Dark and his cute little sister are staying in is located at the residential district of First City. It was only a 30-minute ride away from the academy.

Dark noticed that it was already past midnight. He yawned as he looked at his sleeping sister. He was already tired after all the events that happened. He decided to go to the other bedroom to hit the sack.
