20 Sera's Party

A month had passed since Dark and Lilia went inside the tower and started their journey in the first floor. A day after they first came, followed the scouting forces of the government. These forces were greeted by the guards. They were on their guard upon meeting the strangers but placed them down when they were introduced to the guild. However, unlike the siblings, they were not fortunate enough to have someone like Cya to guide them step by step.

During this one month the siblings raised their levels and completed many quests. Dark reached level 15 while Lilia reached level 13. This was not the same with the others. The average level of those who came after the siblings was 5. Cya saying that it was hard to level up was true.

These rankers who are considered elites in Earth can only grind near the first city. The sibling's decision to go in first was correct. They did not have to share the resources since they are already far ahead.

This one month was the scouting month for the people of Earth. Now that this period is finished, they decided to open the tower to public. Public in a sense that rich families, guilds and other organizations are allowed to head inside the tower and venture through the area.

Sera and Tomo are included in the first wave of exceeds to go inside the tower. Using their families' connections, the government gave them slots which are limited. The two friends of Dark are included in a party composed of 5 exceeds. Each of them being sons and daughters of famous families. They are currently grinding monsters in the Woods of Beginnings.

Sera became a wind mage and was a support in their party while Tomo picked archer as her job and was tasked to scout. Their party can be called average. They were not that weak. But they are not that strong either. This was considered good for a party that consisted of beginner exceeds.

"I can see 2 slimes ahead of us." Tomo reported to their team leader.

A young man wearing glasses and was holding a wooden staff replied, "Good let's go and kill them before anyone else discovers them. Sera use your spell to attract its attention. Fred should be in the frontline." He instructed his team.

"Got it!"

"I understand."

Sera placed both of her hands in front of her and created small gusts of wind that later formed a ball of violent razor winds which she released unto the 2 slimes. The slimes were hit since they failed to notice. They were cut into pieces, spreading their gooey parts on the ground. However, the core was not destroyed and so the gooey parts started to stick together with the core and revived the slime.

The two slimes were angry and started to attack Sera. They rushed towards her but was immediately intercepted by a man with a huge build. This man defended her by blocking the slimes with his shield. The man with glasses immediately focused energy into his staff and released an ice bolt to the slime. At the same time, Tomo shoot three consecutive arrows to the other slime with one arrow hitting the core which destroyed it.

A young lady placed her hand in front of the shield bearer and healed him from injuries. "Are you okay?" She asked the man.

"I'm fine. Thanks Amanda." The shield bearer replied.

"No problem, this is my job anyway." She smiled and looked at her friends. "Do you guys need any healing?"

"Nope, Fred blocked the slimes' attack, so we are fine." The man wearing glasses replied.

Tomo with an excited look asked their leader, "James what did it drop?"

"Just a few coins. We are not lucky this time."

"At least we got experience." Sera looked at the positive side.

"You are right." Tomo agreed with Sera.

James gathered the loot into his card and commanded the party to return to the city.

In the First City, Dark and Lilia was currently roaming around the market district. Since they have been grinding for a whole month they decided to take a break. They were carefully not to be discovered during the whole month to avoid being questioned by other people. They also wore beginner equipment. It took them two days to discover that the equipment that are found inside the tower are more effective than the ones made from then outside. It was kind of an interference made by the gods. But Cya informed them later that their original equipment can be used in the dungeons. The silkie also forgot to inform them about other things but she brushed her head off.

Dark and Lilia were currently enjoying a cup of coffee in a coffee shop at the side of the street when Sera's party saw them.

Sera who saw the siblings first rubbed her eyes to see if it was true. "Hey Tomo, is that Dark and Lilia I am seeing?"

Tomo looked at the direction Sera was facing and saw the siblings. "Yes, it is the two of them. That's strange, I didn't see their names on the list of the first wave of participants."

"Indeed, maybe they got here using an alias?" Sera wondered.

"Oh? Is that someone you know?" Amanda interrupted their conversation. "Should we greet your friends?"

"Oh? You saw some friends? Should we go and see them? It would be nice to have a chat with them." The big guy said.

"Is it someone you know? Let's go maybe they have some information for us." James led his party to the siblings. But when they were near he immediately pushed Sera and Tomo forward so that the siblings will notice.

A very scheming leader indeed.

"Hi Dark! Long time, no see!" Sera greeted her friends who was leisurely drinking his afternoon coffee.

"Sera? Tomo?" Dark was surprised to see his two friends here. "Why are you guys here?"

"We should be the ones saying that. We didn't see your names in the list." Tomo interjected.

"Oh! About that, we asked our grandparents to keep our identities a secret." Dark immediately made a lie. "Anyways, your party?" He looked at the people behind the two.

"Yes, this is Fred, Amanda, and James, our leader." Sera introduced her partymates to Dark. The three bowed their heads as a greeting.

"The name is Dark. This is my sister Lilia."

"The name is Lilia. Nice to meet you." Lilia stood up and bowed unlike Dark who did not bother to stand and was busy enjoying his coffee.

"Since this is our first meeting let me treat your party some coffee. Come and sit here." Dark invited his friends down and started their conversation.
