200 years have passed since the great calamity. A lot of strange creatures appeared. Instead of creatures, saying that they are monsters would be precise. Most of these monsters attack other living creatures. May it be humans, animals, or even monsters themselves. Because of this, the population of human kind has significantly dropped.

Countries were under the state of calamity and others were forced to into anarchy. Religion has also been affected. Some major religions closed while there are also new ones being made. The great calamity was never predicted by the writings of their organizations.

The whole 200 years was full of struggles. People fought for their lives against the monsters. It was a disaster at the beginning. Even with humanity's advance technology, there are some monsters that cannot be exterminated. But they noticed that the changes were not only limited to their environment.

Youth born after the great calamity showed change. Change that became humanity's hope, The Exceeds!

Thanks to the previous generation's struggle, the following generation was able to adapt. Able to evolve their genes, exceeding their predecessors' abilities. Some received new abilities such as enhanced strength, while others obtained the manipulate certain elements. Not the elements that you normally find in the periodic table. But the elements that you normally read in fantasy.

This change made their lives stable. Stable in a sense that because of the evolution humanity has made bases and strongholds to have their families have peaceful lives.

There are 5 major powers in today's earth. The Chinese Empire, American States Alliance, Euro-CIS Powers, Middle East Kingdom, and the Asia Nations. These powers are responsible to unite the Exceeds.

Infants born have a 10% chance to become an Exceed. This chance may be higher or lower depending on their genes. Thus, making the Exceeds have a higher way of treatment. They are treated as VIPs wherever they go. But the child will only awaken their powers when they reach the age of 18.

Asia Nations is divided into 7 countries. Each country is named after the seven colors of the rainbow.

Red country is located at the southeast of the AN. It was an archipelago before the great calamity but now it was a huge island with a few small islands surrounding them.

In this country, a family lived in an isolated island. The family is composed with 4 people.

The father was a renowned blacksmith. Because of the calamity, humans were forced to go back in using cold weapons made from materials gathered from the monsters or evolved ores since these materials were effective against them. The mother was a famous chemist. Chemists study and develop medicine and other forms of drugs such as poison for the monsters.

Their children, a 10-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl are being home schooled by their parents. Dark, the son and Lilia, the daughter have always dreamed of going to school like other kids. Dark and Lilia were taught and trained hard by their parents. Grinding the knowledge deep into their minds. It was as if their parents were in a rush against time.

Every now and then they get visitors riding war choppers. Some are even flying on their own. These people where the customers of the blacksmith and chemist.

It was the night before Dark's fourteenth birthday, the rain poured hard and the thunders roared. A gun shot fired startling the family who was eating their dinner.

All of them crouched and hid beneath the table. Lilia who was frightened cried and covered her head.

"Dear, take the kids to the basement now!" the father told his wife as he slowly crawled to a small cabinet getting a weapon. The house's security system activated. The windows shut down and the doors locked.

The wife was flustered but it seemed that she was expecting that this was bound to happen. "I understand." She grabbed her kids and went to the basement carefully.

She locked the door of the basement. The room had 5 security locks and was covered with mutated earthworm scales.

"Relax, everything is gonna be okay." The mother knelt and comforted her daughter. She then looked at her son. "Dark, son stay here with Lily. I will go grab a few things." She stood up and went into the inner room of the basement.

A strange gas slowly filled the room. "What's happening? Mom? Dad?" Dark was flustered. A couple of minutes pass and the 2 children lost their consciousness.

Their mother then came back to the outer room. "Sorry Dark, Lilia. Mom and Dad needs to this." She then carried both her son and daughter to the inner room.

Inside the room was capsule. She then placed her son and daughter inside the capsule and closed it. "Remember that mom and dad love you both." Tears fell from her eyes as she pressed a red button labelled, "Teleport."

The capsule then shook, it made a strange noise and a few seconds later it calmed down.

The husband then entered the room panting. "Did you finish sending them away?" The wife then nodded. "Let's not leave any trace behind."
