4 Confidence

I checked my phone and opened it up to the home screen. It was one of those crappy flip phones with buttons and all. I'm surprised they're still around.

Well, at least it doesn't have a password. What information is there to steal from a flip phone anyways?

He's risking his life, yet he is still a poor man. Being a porter is certainly unfavorable.

I've already registered for another dungeon. The light blue gate swirled and shined as the people gathered around it, preparing for the next raid.

They chattered and gossiped. I could even hear some of them bad-mouth me.

This was another B-rank dungeon. Since I "completed" the last dungeon, I received a bountiful reward. Rewards scale with your level, so the bigger the level gap, the better the rewards.

Since then, I've gained 14 levels, a new skill, and a class change. I'm no longer trash, just fodder now. But that is better than nothing.

----------------------------------

Before I went to the Gate...

[Level 15 has been acquired!]

[Do you want to select your class now?]

I clicked on the 'yes' button. I wonder what I'll get this time.

In my previous body, I was a [Poison Master]. A cowardly class, which relied on strategy and status effects to eliminate enemies rather than facing them head-on. It was perfect for me!

[Analyzing...]

[Reccomended Classes:

What?

What is that last one?

My curiosity was piqued.

At first, I was going to choose [Poison Master] again.

But what was this? Why is it censored? That's odd.

I clicked on it. It was an impulsive decision, however, I have never seen, or even heard of something like this happening.

[Class [□□□□□□□□] Selected!]

A bright light enveloped my body, before fading away as if nothing happened.

Eh?

Why did I get another class?

I mean, the more the merrier.

...

-------------------------

I tried to check out my new passive skill, but it was futile. It would not show me anything, only a pile of censored text. I don't even know what it does...

Disappointing, but then again, what was I expecting?

However, my one and only active skill did rank up plenty. Your typical average joe would take a few years to get to this point. Then again, that is if they're starting from rock bottom.

[Active] skills require manual activation, while [Passive] skills are always active.

[Survivor's Tenacity] Makes me take less physical damage when feeling intense levels of pain. It's a useful skill, albeit also a pretty common one, especially amongst low-ranked people.

[Poisoned Blood D] is quite self-explanatory. It makes my blood make others feel really woozy. Big woop. A D rank isn't something I should be especially excited about, but everyone's gotta start from somewhere.

The ranks are F, D, C, B, A, S, and SS. While F ranks are the bottom of the barrel, SS ranks hold immense, almost transcendental power. Hah, I was so envious of those A and S rankers back then~

But, no matter how much I envied them, I could not change my fated rank. That was the harsh reality that I've grown accustomed to from my birth.

But now is not the time the brood. The raid is about to start!

"Here!"

A blondie scoffed at me, throwing a large bag in my direction.

"Ugh," I grunted.

I really get no respect.

I've already gotten, one, two, three, four...

9 bags of supplies, not to mention a huge backpack to carry all of those bags in. They're mostly filled with water and more of those damn calorie blocks. Well, at least they're compact.

"Ready up!"

The leader called out to his party.

"We're going to be entering!"

He had a confident look on his face. He looked ahead attentively, leading the way into the bright blue gate.

I was the last one to pass through the gate because I was the most useless.

My surroundings immediately changed. From the cold urban area to a dense, lush forest.

I can recognize this dungeon even without my dear Dungeon Mapper. This one's called [Forest of Instincts] due to its population density. Not in people, but rather in vicious beasts. I remember when I first came here. Good memories, good memories.

Unsurprisingly, everyone died. Everyone but me! I was the lucky birthday child who came out alive! The joys of Dungeon Scrapping know no bounds. However, I was not unscathed.

The bag behind my back felt like it was about to burst. However, I am much more tolerant now that I've leveled up.

At every level, you'll get 2 points which you can invest into any stat of your choosing. But of course, as a [Poison Master], specializing in agility and mana is more worthwhile than spending it on strength for a coward like me.

The forest's vines were draped over the trees and bushes, concealing any monsters that may be lurking within.

It smelled of everything that you'd expect from a place like this. Grassy and plant-like, but also kind of gross on account of all the manure lying around.

"Enemy ahead!" The team leader suddenly shouted out.

Everyone assembled to face them. Well, everyone except me, Some were newbies, so they were shaking, while others were confident.

I just sat in the back and got to enjoy the show.

What they were fighting right now was a C-ranked [Primal Sloth Bear]. It is huge, furry, and has a lot of stamina and strength. However, they lack any capability of pulling off ranged attacks, as they can only utilize mana in the most basic of ways- by enhancing a certain body part.

Warriors, swordsmen, brawlers, and anyone else who practices close-combat also utilize this.

"ROAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!"

It let out a loud, strong roar, and charged forwards toward the group.

However, their sheer power in numbers killed it instantly.

Sloth bears are known to be solitary creatures, and that applies even to their dungeon counterpart.

As soon as the monster was killed, I could see a change in their demeanors.

The once nervous and anxious people become confident, while those who were already confident became even more confident.

The moment a lamb plays wolf is the moment they become easy prey.

A/N

School has been pretty rough lately, so I haven't been able to get enough time to work on this while maintaining a steady upload schedule. Apologies for the delays.

Let me know if there are any mistakes.
