Chapter 1: dungeon ME

It was cold and dark.

Not a single spot of light came out to shine.

Yet he could sense every rock, mountain or mark.

Even though there was no sun or moon, he could 'see' just fine.

But even if there was, it would be the same, for he did not have a single eye.

As he woke from his long slumber, he could not help but ask himself, "where am I?"

"Who am I?"

"What... what am i!?"

Exclaimed loudly. Although there was no sound and his voice was all In his head, the world trembled with his voice.

He looked at himself and noticed a certain part of him missing. Or to be precise, his whole being was missing.

"Where is my body?"

He tried to move his limbs, but only the rattling that seemed like an small earthquake was heard.

He tried to to move his body, but a nearby stack of rocks collapsed.

"Calm down," he told himself.

The shaking stopped and the world returned to it's calm. He 'looked' around himself and was quite shocked.

Not by how he was able to see without light or an eye, but the clarity of his view.

Unlike with his eyes, he did not see through a direct and pointed view.

"I can see everything."

And when he says everything, he means everything. He sensed the world like never before. Different from taste, unlike sight, not at all like hearing, definitely not smell, but similar to to touch.

He felt like it was a combination of all his previous sense compiled to one.

You could not say he hears sounds, but say he feels the vibrations in the air. One can't say he tastes, but feels the different elements in the air. You can't say...

He felt like he was one with the world.

"As if I myself am the world."

Well, a very small world.

With his sense, he could feel the length of the world from beginning to end. The height from top to bottom. Every grain of soil was like his skin. Every atom in the air was like his tongue.

"I can't say for sure how big this palace is."

Well, it could not be helped. After all, he did not have a single object to base his measurements on. For all he knew, this place might not even be as big as a human finger.

This world was barren and without a single bit of life. From the beginning to end, all he could see was rock and soil. The world was like an enclosed cylinder. The bottom was made of rock and so was the top. This cylinder had a short length and a longer radius. He estimated that the ratio was 1:5.

Large pillars seemingly supported the top of the world. The pillars were of course also made of rock. There were many pillars, of which he did not care to count.

The only thing that seemed different was the little pond on that took one fith of the world. Although he was not sure how big this world truly was, he could say it was not too big. He came to this conclusions by seeing the viscosity of the water. After all, a sea of water and a pond of water were very much different.

As he was still musing over his situation, a plethora of knowledge flowed into his mind.

"Ahh~what... dungeon. Gods-life... origin. Energy?"

His word turned incoherent. His muttered multiple words that seeming did not fit together in the same sentence. After less than a second, the knowledge was fully sent. No other new knowledge can in his mind.

But although no new knowledge came in, mind was still in turmoil. Although the information that entered his mind did not hurt him, he was still shocked. Shocked so much that he had to take a whole hour to sort out the information in his head. There was so much that even when he was done sorting the information out, he had not full read or understood most of it. He only focused on the important parts of his knowledge and put them foward.

"I have died."

Yes, it was the classic death and reincarnation. He was a an earthling back in his past life, so he was very clear on these topics. In fact, he seemed to have a high amount of information about it.

He had a few novels that he had probably read before. The main character would die and be reincarnated with knowledge of his past life. Either reincarnated as a human child, a monster or even...

"A dungeon. But why don't i seem to remember a thing about myself?"

Although he was able to remember many things of his past life, he was unable to remember himself. The only memory he could remember that seemed to be his was of a young man sleeping In a hospital. He could not see his race or even body color. The only rememberable thing was that he was a male. He was not sure if this person was even him.

But this memory seemed different. When he thinks of it, He feels as though time accelerated. Slowly turning. Days going by and night passing thorough. Yet the young man sat on the hospital bed.

This memory seemed like it was alive.

If it was not for this memory, he might have simply believe that his memory of earth was not his. In fact, he might have doubted their credibility.

"So after I died, i reaincarnated as a dungeon."

He sensed his surroundings and slowly said, "So this is my body."

Yes, the small world he perceived was his body. The tall pillars, the sturdy ground. Everything was part of him.

He searched through his memory with the key word 'dungeon.' Wanting to see what he truly was. And without a hassle, he got his answer.

A dungeon was creature. A living creature that has the characteristics of a world. They have great if not perfect conditions inside them to nurture life. Unlike worlds, they exist and reside in the second dimension.

Their most prominent feature was their ability to create life itself. Using origin energy, they are able to create living beings that suit the dungeon's environment.

Dungeons eat mortal spirit consciousness as food. When a being dies inside a dungeon, the dungeon eats their spirit consciousness. This includes the spawned creatures. So not only do the creature the dungeon make its protectors, they are also its food.

Another one of the prominent abilities of a dungeon is its ability to open gates to the third dimension. Or better known as, the mortal world.

Not only do the dungeons have the ability to create life, they could also create many other things. With the wondrous energy known as origin energy, the dungeons are able to create many things. These things are used as lures to mortals in the mortal world to chase after. Only so that the dungeon could kill them and feed on their spirit consciousness.

But one must not be mistaken to believe dungeon need spirit consciousness to live. In actuality, dungeon are rightfully immortal. Unable to die unless killed.

"Wow... that changed fast. I died one moment, then immortal the next."

In his memory, he was able to get full information about dungeons. Everything from how they eat to how they create. All of it seemed simple to him. When he saw the full description of the dungeon life form, he was excited.

This of course interested him very much. From the way he sees it, a dungeon is a very powerful being. Near omnipresent, near omnipotent and near omniscient.

He was almost no different from a god.

And it was true. In his world, or to be exact, in him, he is god. His power reaches far and wide here. He could do anything and everything he so wishes.

Although he had no memory of his past self, he had many memories of his past world. Many parts were blurred and some could not be recovered. Many were so minuscule that he wondered if this was part of his memory at all. But among all these blurs and unclear thoughts, a cluster of memories or knowledge was clearer than the rest.

Manga.

Novels.

Anime.

Movies.

They were so clear that he wondered is that was all he had in his past life. Among all these, he was very interested in the fantasy genre. Although in his clear cluster of knowledge, there were other genres like sci-fi and others, fantasy seemed clearer and more abundant than the rest.

Now he has power, power to do. Power to make.

So what would he do when he has all the power in the world?

"I'll make a fantasy world. No, i will make myself become a fantasy world!"
