The Verdant King

Adrian stepped past the vines and was met with a set of stairs, oddly enough these stairs were made of the twisted roots of a tree, he looked around and noticed he was inside of a giant tree.

He walked up the stairs and out of a giant opening in the tree, the opening was about ten feet wide by fifteen feet tall, a giant opening for sure. He turned around to look at the tree he just stepped out of and noticed it was absolutely massive, it was hundreds of feet tall and tens of feet in diameter. Its lush green bark covered in moss to show it was still thriving.

Adrian looked away from the tree after marveling at its beauty to check his surroundings, he was inside of a massive lush and dense forest. The forest was so thick his vision was obscured after a couple hundred feet in each direction, he could not see any signs of civilization at all.

He sighed in disappointment before an idea struck him. He decided to climb the tree to see if he could see anything above the canopy. He looked up in dread at the massive tree before he grit his teeth and began his climb.

Step after step, hand over hand he slowly but surely dragged himself up the massive tree. Luckily enough the tree had plenty of branches he could use as gripping spots and places to rest on his journey.

After a few hours Adrian was thoroughly exhausted but he finally made his way to the top of the massive tree. Sitting on one of the tree's firm branches he overlooked the entirety of the forest in awe.

To the South of the giant tree was endless forests, stretching far to the east and west as far as his eye could see. But to the North of the tree he noticed a golden prairie that was just a few hundred meters from where the tree was positioned.

And in the prairie Adrian noticed very faintly that there seemed to be a dirt path that looked fairly well traveled. The path had a three way intersection at one point with the two ends going east and west off into the distance and the path in the middle leading to a very obvious gigantic column towering into the sky.

It was a few miles away but Adrian can still tell of its massive size, it was even bigger than the tree he was currently on. He could faintly see a small town at its base with people walking about.

His face lit up in joy, he had found civilization!

He would leave that for later though, as he was not able to leave the premises of his dungeon yet as the dungeon master, he did not have a high enough dungeon level. Even if he could leave though, he would not do so as he feared the dungeon core might get broken without his presence overseeing it.

He was able to climb this tree because oddly enough it was included in the area his Dungeon covered. If he wanted to increase the size of his dungeon he would naturally need to pay with DP making more rooms, traps, and monsters.

He looked at the tree beneath him and patted it before saying "Thank you for opening my eyes to this new world I am in". Without the tree he would not be able to find anything out about his surroundings with the restriction on his movement.

He sprawled out on the tree with his arms behind his head, closing his eyes as he felt the breeze caress his cheek. "Since you have helped me I shall give you a name, the protector of my dungeon. How about World, The Verdant King? The tallest tree in the forest, King of the Southern Vegetation!"

"World, The Verdant King! That sure does have a nice ring to it, very well since you will be called World, The Verdant King my dungeon shall be called The Verdant Depths!" Adrian shouted as excitement filled his face, the thoughts of the future beginning to creep into his mind.

The leaves behind him rustled in the wind as he shouted its new name, as if the tree itself was acknowledging its new name from its Master.

Adrian opened the Stats menu and clicked on the Dungeon before he changed the name with a smile on his face.

Dungeon: The Verdant Depths

Dungeon Level: Cave

Dungeon Points: 5 (+10)

Subordinates: 1

Looking at the new name for his dungeon Adrian smiled. He was going to like this new world, he was free and he could definitely make it to the top.

Adrian laughed in joy at this thought, the sorrow from forgetting his past long forgotten with the new prospects of this world beginning to surface for him. He looked out at the horizon, this new world that he had appeared in. He was going to grasp it in his hand, and live life to the fullest! He reached out his hand and clenched it as if this action of his solidified the thoughts he had and made them a reality.

He smiled to himself before closing his eyes, it was time for some sleep, climbing World was no easy feat after all, any work that he was going to accomplish was going to be saved for later.
