40 The Rose Garden

Adrian opened the dungeon map after he finished his meal thanking Dahlia.

He was going to use the rest of his DP in order to finish up the boss room. It was still undecorated. He made a path going from the entrance of the room to the exit door in the back.

He then placed six planters on each side of the path, and filled them with roses. Raushan loved roses, and taking care of roses was one of his favorite hobbies so Adrian made sure he had some to take care of in his room.

The easiest way to infuriate Raushan was to injure a rose in his presence. So adventurer parties who came to fight him would need to be wary of the roses when fighting him. He would enter an enraged state causing all his attacks to do more damage if one was injured near him. This however did not include Rosekin which he could summon.

Adrian aptly named this dungeon boss room the Rose Garden. He now had four areas of his dungeon, the first room (which included the smaller starter room) Little Garden. Little Garden was a smaller forest with a river flowing through it and defended by various plants and flowers. Its mascot monster was the Giant Violet Bee.

The next area which was at the far end of The Little Garden, was the Hedge Maze. It was a moving maze made of Porcupine Hedges, that would disorientate intruders. Its mascot monster was the Giant Herculean Beetle, whose horns and exoskeleton were good forging materials.

The area to the left side of Little Garden was the Mushroom Kingdom. It was the most recent contribution to Adrian's dungeon and was inhabited by mushroom people called myconids. They were used often in alchemical potions and other forms of magus experiments.

Satisfied Adrian left, leaving the last room behind the Rose Garden still empty as he needed to save DP. He didn't know when the flood dragon would come back after all.

A few days passed and Adrian continued to cultivate his magic power. He wanted to condense another rune to increase his attack power. He had been working on this since he condensed his last room and made quite a bit of progress. He has been progressing much faster than in his last life now that he has experience.

He also noticed that he has an affinity for nature based runes, and he is able to condense them faster. He was able to focus on nature based abilities much easier, and his power when using them was much stronger than the other alternatives.

He meditated for a few hours before he was awakened by an alert from one of his goblins. There were people coming to his dungeon.

He came down from his house and headed towards the inn. There were currently two people inside of the inn sitting at a table. A middle aged man with a beard and a burly body and a young boy around eight who was sitting with him.

"You see, a great adventurer always makes sure to eat a hearty meal!" The man said as he was tearing into some food that Dahlia made for him.

"Yes of course! A great meal indeed!" the boy agreed as he was devouring the delicacy in front of him.

They had purchased the food from the inn along with a room to stay for the night. They were adventurers who had taken a mission from the adventurer's guild. The father was a D rank adventurer and the son was an F rank adventurer.

The son who was named Kidd, had begged his father to go on an adventure with him and the father finally relented. The father, who was named Garret, had seen this dungeon as a good place for a starter adventurer like his son.

"Don't worry Kidd, with your old man here leading you as an adventurer you will become a hero one day!" Garret laughed as he continued to eat.

"Yep! One day I will become as strong as you!" the kid nodded

"Hey Dahlia! Your cooking is almost as good as my wives! Can you get us another serving!" Garret said as he handed her a handful of copper coins.

The menu for the inn right now was as follows.

Black Bread - 5 Coppers

White Bread - 10 Coppers

Steak - 25 Coppers

Steak Dinner - 1 Silver

Hearty Meal - 5 Silver

The menu was slightly overpriced, but when his customers had their first meal they would be coming back for more. Dahlia was an outstanding chef and once you tasted her food once you couldn't live without it.

A normal F rank adventurer made around 5 Copper for completing a quest, so one quest was equal to the cheapest food you could buy here at Root of the World inn. Depending on the quest they could also turn in materials they collected on the way to earn some more copper.

So Garret usually made around one silver when he completed a quest plus the materials he would sell gaining him extra. He was able to spend a bit lavishly because he had some money to spare. He also wanted to look cool in front of his son.

"Sure thing!" She said as she entered the kitchen. She came out a moment later with a steak on top of a plate.

She had a skill called [Cooking Takes Time] which literally halted time for her as long as she was cooking. This helped her to feed customers in a timely manner so they didn't have to wait long for food.
