1 Chapter 1: Wake up.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

An unfamiliar sound was heard in a long rocky corridor. A faceless man stood there, staring at the ground where a skeleton was lying on the ground.

"...It's time to wake up, little one."

The man said, addressing his words to the skeleton, but these words seemed to reach deaf ears. The skeleton didn't seem to even move, much less react to the skeleton's words.

"..."

The words didn't make sense to the skeleton, and the silence it presented couldn't be understood either.

"I have given you what you asked for. A new life... I must go now, and I am very sorry for your death, I hope this is the new beginning you were looking for."

The mysterious man said those last words, leaving without a trace, as if he had never been there. The skeleton did not seem to move or respond to anything, and a few moments later it began to move.

"...."

Standing up was not a problem. The surroundings were totally unfamiliar, but a strange sense of comfort the skeleton could feel at that moment, as if this had always been its home.

"Okay, okay. We'll go see what floor we can get to, but as soon as it gets ugly, we're out of here! Got it?"

Again an unfamiliar voice was heard in the long corridor, from a corner of the wall three unknown people with strange clothes and strange objects in their hands came forward.

"...."

The skeleton remained totally silent and immobile, something about them seemed and felt familiar, but I couldn't tell what it was.

The strange and empty basins of his skull slowly began to shine until they became like a pair of small blue flames, interpreting his eyes.

{The system has been successfully initiated}

{"System" keyword, has been determined}

"I tell you! The chimera on the 25th floor is REAL!"

One of the unknown people said, raising his voice once, but the other two present were not really paying attention or simply ignoring it.

"Yes, yes. That's what everyone says, but..."

"Be quiet and pay attention. Both of you. We've got company."

The strangely dressed man in front of the other two noticed the skeleton in front of them, but it showed confusion in his eyes.

"Charret. Are you serious? It's just a skeleton..."

"Shut up and pay attention. Look at his eyes... There are no skeletons with shiny sockets, much less on the first floor of the dungeon."

At that moment the other two realized. The skeleton in front of them was different. Its upright posture, its way of looking. This skeleton gave the feeling of being totally different from any other skeleton they had found on their dungeon expeditions.

"What do we do? You know we didn't bring extra potions to spend, let alone on the first floor."

"I have no idea. We don't know what this skeleton is capable of and besides you guys recently went up to level three and four, I won't risk getting us killed, we'd better go, but don't turn around and watch out. It might attack us when we get distracted."

"But, but we were going to get some extra Gnash to eat at night, what will we eat?!?"

"Listen to me and listen to me well! If that thing, turns out to be stronger and kills us. Neither you nor your sister will eat, not today nor tomorrow nor ever again, understood!?"

"Darriel. Come on, Charret's right, that skeleton's different from the others... let's not take any chances."

"Are you serious?!? A skeleton is going to make us back out!? I've already suffered from hunger once in my life and lost my parents because of it. I won't let that happen to my sister!"

The young man named Darriel at that moment stared at the skeleton. Wielding a strange object with his hands, the little light there was in that place. It reflected easily on what appeared to be a sheet of metal.

"Put down your sword. You bloody fool, you don't know what it's capable of!"

"Fuck this and fuck YOU, Charret. I'm tired of not being able to protect or help my sister!"

Without thinking for a moment, Darriel began to run. Closing the distance between him and the skeleton quickly, holding his sword in both hands, he made a downward attack. With the intention of hitting the skeleton's head, but he failed miserably, the skeleton at that moment simply stepped aside and let the weight of the young man's sword free him for an attack.

The skeleton watched without problem the young man who was now completely helpless at his side, his sword was heavy and the attack he had made had left him totally open to any attack.

The skeleton's footwork was as smooth and quick as if he were used to fighting. His fist felt like a rock on Darriel's jaw who, upon receiving the blow with his face, remained still for a couple of moments before collapsing because of the force of the punch.

"DARRIEL!!"

"BROTHER!"

The man and the woman screamed at the same time, as they watched their partner fall easily from the skeleton's hands. The skeleton remained motionless. Watching their enemy fall to the ground. motionless, he felt nothing at that moment, there was no remorse, nor anger, just an immense emptiness.

"Damn it, God damn it. Luka, use your magic, we have to save Darriel! QUICK!

Charret shouted to the young woman, but she did not respond. Fear had paralyzed her, the fear of losing her brother had made her paralyzed.

"Fuck, what do I... What do I do now?!"

Charret couldn't think straight. If he attacked the skeleton, it could easily kill Darriel and his death would completely destroy his sister. There was no way to do anything without resulting in Darriel's death.

"Damn it, damn it. I NEED HELP LUKA!"

"..."

It was useless to try to reason with her. Fear had completely paralyzed the poor young woman who was now lying on the ground, watching her fallen brother, not even knowing if he was dead or alive.

The skeleton took a step forward, ignoring completely the immobile body of Darriel, but he seemed to retract and turn back, at that moment an arrow flew over Charret's man, towards the skull of the skeleton, but this was totally useless. The skeleton seemed to have seen the trajectory of the projectile and with the back of his palm this deflected the arrow.

"Here they are! I FOUND THEM!"

Suddenly another group of four people appeared from the corridor. Two carrying swords and shields, one with a few daggers and the last, who attacked with a strange object with a thin rope.

"That damn thing just deflected my arrow!?"

"Concentrate, this is not a normal skeleton, in one blow it knocked Darriel out."

"...Rier, I need your arrows not to fail..."

"I never miss. Boss."

"Serrat, use your shield and make a charge against the skeleton, we have to get Darriel out of there, we won't fight safely until Darriel is out of range of that thing."

"Hmm."

The young woman carrying a sword and shield accent with her head. Raising her shield, preparing to charge her opponent.

"Rier, when she makes contact with the skeleton, use a hammer arrow and aims at his head."

"Got it, you got it, boss."

"Tremur, I need you to help luka come to her senses, the fear has paralyzed her, use a healing spell on her."

"Get ready, I'm afraid we won't get out of this fight safely."
