1 Prologue “The Purge”

It was May 7th, 2015. All over the world, giant unknown temples were reported to have emerged from the ground at the centre of every country. As the world questioned the mysterious temples, the government took action and decided to explore the temples to identify where they came from. After analyzing the area, they discovered a gigantic sinkhole at the centre of the temple that seems to hold mysterious properties, as no modern technologies seemed to be working near the sinkhole's premises.

A week after the temple's appearance, the sky turned red and a random gate appeared in every country. Unknown creatures emerged from the gates, massacring every individual they came across causing an international uproar all over the world. As many countries perished and disappeared, most countries were able to defend their people until the gates closed and disappeared.

After the world had gone through such a blood bathing event, one-third of the world population diminished bringing fear and worry to every country. May 12th, 2020, the day where billions were massacred was later called "The Purge".

As the world tried to rebuild its economy, multiple individuals were found to have acquired extraordinary abilities, as they were able to attain magic, super strength, and many other skills. As these people attracted the attention of the government, they were asked to explore the temple's sinkhole for clues related to the paranormal activities happening throughout the world. 100 of these selected individuals volunteered to explore the unknown sinkhole, but a few weeks later, only one-third of them successfully returned.

After their return, most of the returnees were questioned, as some individuals were mentally scarred after their exploration. According to the answers the selected few gave, the sinkhole seemed to be a massive dungeon with multiple different floors. Though the number of floors was still unknown, they reported that every floor had a never-ending amount of monsters with a boss waiting at the end of each floor. Though at start those monsters were easily defeated, they reported that the monsters gradually got more difficult and intelligent each floor they descended.

Many were killed during their expedition, but they returned with priceless information and unknown materials such as magic crystals which seemed to hold immense concentrated energy. The explorers explained they acquired those crystals by killing monsters, as they seemed to be embedded at the centre of their bodies.

After analyzing these crystals, the government discovered their concentrated clean energy very useful to modern technology, and thus bought those crystals from the explorers at a tremendous price.

News about those crystals spread throughout the world, and many individuals who had awoken their abilities entered the dungeon to profit off of those crystals. More and more people became interested in acquiring those crystals, and as time went by those people were soon called "Hunters".
