Only if I die

Tyler was experiencing an extremely important moment. Inside the sea of consciousness that resides on his forehead, he found a red star. It was gigantic but from his consciousness, it was small.

When the spiritual energy entered the gate, it changed. He didn't know what it turned into but when it changed, it moved toward the star. The star slowly came out of his consciousness with a thread that connected it.

This thread was made out of that special energy. The star moved down as it reached his foot and entered his sole.

Miao didn't see it exactly but he sensed an incredible power. At first, he only sensed it concentrated at a single point but after he put it inside his feet, he could feel it through his body.

Suddenly, he recognized this energy.

'It's star power. What the hell? How did he get the star powers? That should be impossible. The power of the stars is the hardest to get. No..no…no, he is not absorbing the star power.'

'He is producing it?' Miao's eyes widened when he saw him producing the star energy from his forehead. He didn't know how Brian was doing this but his eyes quickly burst with excitement.

'Amazing! This amazing. He actually managed to harness the power of the stars and use it to improve his strength. That means he doesn't need to reach the third level right now.'

Miao got even more excited as if he was the one doing it.

'Wait, is he emitting the power of a star outside his body?' Miao suddenly turned silent and sat crossed-legged. For a cat, it was quite an awkward position but it didn't mean much to him.

He closed his eyes and a cultivation technique appeared in his mind. At this moment, the star power released by Tyler moved toward him as he slowly absorbed them.

After two hours, Tyler slowly opened his eyes, and seeing Miao in front of him, cultivating like a human made him confused.

'Wait, I cultivated the power of a star and it seems like my surrounding has it. Does that mean he is absorbing my power of star?'

Tyler thought to himself and slowly moved out of the bed. He clenched his fist as he raised his hand. He could feel strength condensed in his arm. His progression had left himself stunned.

He released a deep breath and looked at the small branch and picked it up. He put it inside the void ring.

He knew this branch was extremely precious. Anything with God written on it would be precious. He didn't take it immediately because unless he touches it first, nobody can take it away from him. That's why he wasn't worried about Miao taking it.

He stretched out his hands and walked out of the room.

"Mom!"

Tyler called but he didn't get a response.

He frowned as he called out again.

"Mom!"

After he didn't get a response for the second time, he released his Spiritual Sense and covered the house. He didn't find her but he noticed some weird aura left in his house.

He instantly opened his eyes and looked throughout his house. When he was looking at the table, he saw a letter at the top. His heartbeat soared but he quickly took the letter and opened it.

[If you want to mother, come to the Forest in the southeast. If you don't arrive within two days, you will not get your mother.]

Tyler clenched his teeth.

"Miao!" He shouted with anger.

"What happened?" Miao rushed out of the room when he saw heard that angry voice. It's been a week and he has never seen Tyler so angry. When he came in front of Tyler, he asked.

"Why didn't you protect my mother? If you wanted the power of a star, I could've given you when I was awake." Tyler gritted his teeth and shouted.

"Boy, it's not my fault. I could've sensed it if the person had released a killing intent. But they didn't. They quietly came and took away your mother. And, I said I will protect her. I didn't say I will babysit her." Miao rolled his eyes and replied.

His tone was a bit cold. He didn't like Tyler's attitude. But, he didn't get mad either. After all, losing someone important to you makes anyone angry.

'Yes, they didn't attack her, or else Trigram Sword Array would've been activated. Damn it! They must have some other purpose.'

After Tyler realized the situation, he took a deep breath and calmed down.

"You can fight, right?" Tyler looked at Miao and asked.

"Well, I did promise to protect her so I will fight." Miao nodded as both of them quickly left the house.

Tyler left the city. He was sure that they wanted something else from him. If they wanted him dead, they didn't need to go out of the city. Although killing is prohibited inside the city, rules are only for the weak.

Sulen Family didn't need to follow the rules. They could just kill him and act as if nothing happened as long as they don't do it in front of the public.

Killing in front of the public would force the city lord to take action.

Tyler and Miao left the city and rushed toward the southeast part of the forest.

"Boy, we might be going directly now. What should we do after we reach there?" Miao asked.

"We need to find out what's their purpose first. If they are not Sulen Family, then it could be troublesome." Tyler replied.

Miao thought for a moment and said "I will do my best to keep her safe but I have to get her behind me or else I won't be able to make any moves."

"You need to hide. As soon as we reach there, you will hide your presence and watch everything. As soon as you get the chance, you will take mom and leave." Tyler spoke with a serious expression on his face.

"That could kill you." Miao seriously gazed at him and spoke.

"Only if I die."
