The visit part 1

"Any results? Did the old couple crack under the pressure?" Rachael was getting impatient with the progress of the situation.

When the plan to bring in the old couple had been formed, Rachael had been sure that she would be the one to handle this. Much to her surprise, Master Rise had banned her from the whole investigation.

It had been a huge blow to her and her reputation and Rachael had no idea what she had done to deserve this kind of treatment.

As far as she could tell, nothing had changed. She didn't even have any kind of contact with the healer afterwords.

"You are too close. Just the fact that you have already formed an opinion of that healer makes you a liability. Rose falls under the same category as well. While I can trust you, the head council does not" Master Rise was calm when she delivered this news.

It was not new for her but she knew this would be a big blow to the blond knight. She had worked hard for her position and had been loyal to the commission.

"But it was only one meeting. What can one meeting do?" the blond knight was already on the verge of shouting and it attracted a lot of eyes.

They were right in the middle of the commission's guildhall and the illusion had not been put up by Rise this time.

"Look girl, had it been up to me I would do something. But this is out of our hands. On the other hand, you should enjoy this opportunity being presented to you and find out something worthwhile. The couple had been let go already since there really was no connection between them"

Those words caused the anger to surge even more in the elf but even she knew there were some things not under her control.

"We are here. Let's go pay some lovebirds a house visit" Everyone heard that voice before they saw the bubbly redhead.

Rose had arrived at the right time, their guest behind walking behind them with an annoyed expression.

Somehow, this arrival caused Rachael to let her anger go and her mind to calm down. Getting angry would not achieve anything after all.

"We will discuss this later master. I'm sure you have a lot of work to do" it was almost time for maintenance of the holy jade after all.

"Come on, don't be such a killjoy. Your bad mood is slipping out of your aura" Rose, being the annoying friend she was, decided it was alright to cling to Rachael.

It was a hilarious picture as well, Rose's considerably smaller frame hanging on to Rachael's bigger form….

…which only indicated that she had lost control of her anger and let her emotions get the best of her. She needed to calm down and get back to her original form.

Although, the curious red eyes that looked at her from that fair face did look good.

"Lady Iris, please help me out here. I'm sure Rachael likes you far more than me at this moment and will listen to you" and of course, the Grand Officer had been unable to mask her thoughts from the other female.

She did not know how Rose did that, but she always seemed to know something extra. It could get scary sometimes.

Meanwhile, Iris could only shake her head in disbelief but not allow anything to show onto her face.

"Lady Iris? I was not aware you even knew my name?" Iris was sure she had not introduced herself yet.

But to her credit, no one had even asked her to do that.

"You didn't need to. I just took a little look inside your previous accommodation's logs. And before you ask Racheal, it was all through legal channels" Rose looked far too happy while announcing this face.

There must be a story there Iris was not privy to but it helped her as well. She would not have to introduce herself again.

"I see. Well, since you two are here already, we should get going. Master Rise, we would be going now" The blind warrior turned to the grandmaster and bowed.

The air was tense between them as well but it seemed to be clearing up.

"Sure child. Do as you are instructed. Rose, you know the other places you need to stop as well right?" the grandmaster asked and the redhead nodded.

"We will be sure to stop at the healing wing when we come back as well. Don't worry, I won't forget" the healer all but dragged the other two out of there.

This encounter seemed odd to Iris but she could not point out why that had seemed so. Maybe it was the look on the blond's face that made goosebumps appear on Iris's skin.

She looked pissed.

"When did master assign you the extra mission? Why was I not involved?" yup, there was something there that Iris was not aware of but she wanted to know.

"Master did not tell you because it was a small thing. We have some injured members and master wanted to see what Iris could do so she told me to swing by there as well. It's no big deal"

Those words finally seemed to calm Rachael down for real.

Iris could see why these two were assigned together. Rose was someone who could keep Rachael grounded with only her words. The other was already going back to her original size.

It did make Iris curious but she was not one to pry into such messy situations. She had no intention of getting involved in that dynamic.

"We are here. Let's go and greet our visitor" Rose did not wait for anyone else to be ready and she banged the front door of the couple.

"Why are you lot back? Were we not in the clear already? My wife still needs rest" the same woman who had asked Iris for help cried out.

So the commission had made good on their promise and investigated the couple as well. They really were ruthless.

"Don't worry Miss Diana, we are not here to interrogate you. We just thought that our guest would like to have a look at her recovering patient. I know I would want to" Iris knew it was her cue to move inside but she did not want to.

She did not want to be a part of Rose's shenanigans if she could help it.

But of course, Rose did not give her a chance at all. There was wind behind her that pushed her forward and caused her to step inside the house.

"Master. You are here as well?" Diana sounded worried but amazed as well. Whatever denial Iris wanted to present for her arrival fell to waste.

"I would like to have a look at your partner to see how well she is healing. It won't take long" Diana looked happy to see her but there was a worried edge to her expression as well.

"Is something wrong with Arya?" Diana sounded like she would break out into tears at any second.

"She's not in danger. This is just standard procedure I did not think I would get to do but since I am here, I should have a look anyway. Rose, can you and Rachael run an errand for me? Get me a few tools for me?" Iris asked.

"You don't have to be like that. Just say you want us out of the room and we will comply" Rachael seemed like she wanted to say something but Rose cut her off by stepping on her foot.

Rachael: Why doesn't the grandmaster tell me anything? Am I not good enough.

Rose: It might just be your temper that's in the way. You are pretty chill most of the time till you don't get your way.

Rachael: WHAT DID YOU SAY?

Rose: It's the grand master's fault. Her fault entirly.
