15 The old man

Noah

It was better than I predicted. I wasn't waiting for such skills from someone who stopped playing the piano for years. Sarah has the right ear for music since she could play this song on a keyboard from the computer at once without reading the sheet. It won't take more than this week for her to master this piece.

No one of us started a conversation with the other; it was only my instructions and her agreeing to them. I was thankful for that because I' de feel like a hypocrite after what I said to my friends. It's for the good of all of us. I took out my medical books and started revising from where I left it. I am a medical student for five years now. It's a major I followed for my dad, and I don't hate it. I just love music more. I still don't know how it'll be possible to do both, but I'll have to figure it out one day eventually.

My phone interrupted my work, and I sighed when I saw the I.D. of the caller.

"What he did today, uncle?" I asked. It's my dad's Buttler.

"He didn't flirt with any married woman this time, young master. He had a heart attack a while ago, young master," He apologetically spoke. "What? What happened? Is he okay?" He had a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) Surgery recently, so he should be fine after it.

"He's fine now, but he wants to see you. Can you come to the mansion now?" He asked. "I am on my way. Keep an eye on him for me, please." "For sure, sir."

I took my keys and run to my car, heading to his mansion. The second I reached the gate, I spotted him in a wheelchair that I don't know he agreed to sit in it, he's usually stubborn to show he's sick. His smile made me angry. I was frightened here, and he's smiling at me.

"You mad man, you should be on the bed now," I gritted, getting out of the car. "I wanted to greet my son, is that a crime?" He copied Liam's pout for god sake.

"You kidding me. Uncle Choi, from where this heart attack came? Last time I visited, he was as fine as a twenty years old man."

"Well, he acted like the twenty years old man. He drunk half of a wine bottle when I wasn't there to check on his behavior," He explained, glaring at the guy who supposed to know better. No one sane drinks while having heart problems. And he is a doctor.

"Hey, don't talk about me like I am not here. I am freezing, let's go inside," Dad said before he flew with his wheelchair. I swear that man is punishing me for being ungrateful when I was a teenager. All he did since he adopted me is to apologize to the parents of the kids that I kicked their asses at school. Now he's troubling me by not taking care of his health and yeah, flirting with any woman passed by him.

"Will you stop acting as a kid and take care of your heart?" I asked, following him to the living room.

"My heart is fine as it is. I am not going to live more than I am fated to live. So let me spend my last days happily. I was as boring as you are at your age, and I wasted all the fun in my youth. I don't advise you to be this serious. You'll get crazy as I am now. It won't be fair for your future wife. For me, I am a lonely one, so I don't want to count what's left for me to live," He said with a mixed voice. It has sadness and nostalgia in it. "Anyway, will you be able to play with your hand like that?" He asked with his eyes on my hand. He knows the condition of my hand, why is he asking? On the day of the accident, he got a full report from my doctor in his office desk. I bet he knows about Sarah helping me too. This man has radars anywhere but still wants to get answers from me.

"I can't play in the ball. I wrote the song, and it'll be arranged and played by a _frie_ ah someone," I was about to say a friend.

"So you can't play even as Noah from the F.A. group," The drama again! He always has to act dramatic about me not being able to attend as his son and heir and only play for him as a member of F.A. The guys participate with me to show that we're invited as a group. "But hey, I am lucky too to have a girl to play for me. Is she beautiful?" Suddenly his eyes lit up. Here we go!

"I bet in everything I have that you know her and all her background. So, why asking?"

"Oh, my boy is jealous of his old man is asking about his girlfriend. I am sorry, child. I just wanted to rest assured if my grandchildren were going to be beauties and handsome or not," H sang and put me in a dumbfounded state. Is this man for real?

"From where you're getting these ideas, old man? I don't know what's you're talking about, and she's Ethan's cousin, so please, be respectful to her when you meet her dad." I can't believe that I am begging but better to say it now, so he leaves his crazy ideas before he meets her.

"Oh, my son, I can rest in peace, knowing that you won't die a virgin." Oh my GOD!! I regret letting these words slipping in my ears and processing them in mind. You, older man, if you were someone else, I would've killed you a long time ago. He is lucky that I love him. I sometimes respect how outgoing and fun. He knows how to live his life without caring about anything that'll his mood.

We ate dinner, and I can't skip the part that he spent the entire dinner whining about the healthy food that doesn't suit his taste. We spent the night playing video games till dawn. I took him to his bedroom when he got sleepy and went out. I could've stayed, but I have to work with Sarah, and we're having school, so the schedule will be tight to practice all the time. I hate that I am the one who suggests the idea of going back to high school.

I parked the car next to a park, not so far from the dorm. I wanted to walk a bit since it helps me clear my mind before setting it in the mood of work.

During my troll, I saw a couple hugging, and it was a bit weird since it's a park full of kids and their parents. As I got closer, I recognized who they were, "What's going on here?" And I didn't know how these words slipped from my mouth.
