7 Chapter 7: The Evangelion System Pt. 3
"Foolish angel, die now from the pillars of the flame, I will teach you to be humble in the grace of this place!" The Sphynx commanded
[System Message]
[Your Health is running low! Use Chaos to regain your health]
"Wait! What am I saying? I've gotten this far with my own abilities! Maybe I should just use Chaos on all of these creatures and get my health back!" Lucius thought.
As he looked down at his blade, the dark red blade of chaos began to warp. It slowly bent around the sword in the shape of a mouth. It seemed insane, but for a moment it seemed like the sword was grinning at him.
"No... this time Im going think things out!" Lucius thought.
"Wait!" Lucius said to the sphynx.
"What is it."
Lucius withdrew his weapon, and performed a standing bow towards the great being.
"I… apologize for being so rude…" Lucius said. "My name is Lucius, I just reincarnated from Earth, I'm just trying to find my loved ones, I came to this tower to acheive that, what is your name great Sphynx?"
"Nefaliam, halt," The Sphynx commanded.
In moments, the catlike creatures withdrew back into the outskirts of the collesuem.
"My name is Neftali, Once a King of the realm of Cats, but I was summoned by the creator here to test and try those attempting to ascend."
"How long have you been doing that?" Lucius asked.
"Over 10,000 years" Neftali answered
"10,000," Lucius remarked "Thats older than most of human civilization"
"Humans are so arragant to think they are the only civilized ones." Neftali answered. "You are not the first to challenge this tower, nor the last, while I may seem old, this tower predates much further than even my existence"
"Neftali" Lucius said. "I'm ashamed to ask, but can you give me time to learn my Codex, I was arrogant and charged into here without reading it."
"This boy" Neftali thought, "His demeaner has completely changed... what is the meaning of this?"
"I thought this battle was easy for a genius such as yourself?" Neftali pried.
"I... I may be a genius, but I don't know everything, this is a new world, with different rules, and people, if I am to ascend in this world, I should first understand and respect those things. I apologize for earlier, I should have been more respectful," Lucius answered
"You will be allowed 60 seconds, and after that, the trial will resume." Neftali ordered
"Thank you Neftali!"
"Ok, I can't believe that worked" Lucius thought. "Now I've got to figure out what the hell happened!"
"Lets see, I'm guessing there should be info under weapon description. Here it is!"
[The blade Order cannot block attacks but only purge them, in other words the blade must fully penetrate the attack to subdue it or it will be recieved as damage.]
"I see!"
"What about Chaos."
[In order to gain information on Chaos, you must use it on an enemy!]
"Time is up!" Neftali said "Let the trial continue!"
The strange cats began to come at Lucius again as he drew out his sword. "If I get hit by even one attack" Lucius said. "I'll... I'll never see Evelynn again."
"Ok blade of chaos," Lucius said. "I'll use only a small amount of your power to regain a little health! I won't let your dark power consume me!"
As a giant cat ran at him he sliced it with the blade of darkness cutting off its right paw.

"Hehe alright!"
"Now all I need to do is attack some more enemies!" He said whirling chaos's edge he approached the next set of Neftalians ready to reap them.
"Uurrfff"
Lucius stopped in his tracks as he heard the cries of a Nefalian. It was a high pitch scream that sounded like it was in sever pain.
As he looked on at the pawless creature he had attacked, he watched as dark flames burnt its appendages. It leaned over crying in pain as the flames dug deeper and deeper into its arms slowly devouring it.

"What is this?" He said
The other Nefalians creatures ran over to the creature desperately trying to ail its pain.
"It is Ok, my child" Neftali said "That is the pain you must bear for the creator, for he has called you to bear it."
"What have I done?" Lucius said as he watched the creature suffer. Memories from his past mistakes began running through his mind.
"Lucius!" (Evelynn)
"Lucius... mother… I'm sorry..." *(Lucas)
"Once again, my ignorance has caused someone to suffer!" Lucius thought.
"I didn't mean to do that! I was just trying to do my-"
"Do not apologize" Neftali said. "That blade you have is Order and Chaos, it was designed as a balance of power. You alone must decide when to use darkness and when to use light, if you are unable to watch this creature suffer, you will not be able to wield that blade."
"But why does anyone have to suffer! Let me Purge-"
"Darkness cannot be purged, only destroyed" Neftali said. "The only thing you can do now for this one is to put it out of its misery, please for me, kill this child."
Lucius walked over to the whimpering cat, and placed the blade of light into its arms. The light did nothing to aid its suffering, as the creature continued to suffer in pain.
"Do not waste your time trying to stop the darkness. darkness cannot be purged because it constantly grows. Unlike light, once darkness touches something it spreads until it has consumed everything. When darkness apears you have but two options, consume the darkness with your blade, or release the being from their body turning them into light, I will let you choose."
"Return to light, Nefaliam" Lucius whispered.
Striking the creature in the abdomen, he released its soul back into the light.
"Neftali… You gave me time to learn, and now you have lost one of your children… I will not use Chaos like that again." Lucius said
"What if it is the only way you can win?"
"I do not care! I alone can decide when to use it right! I will not use it here!"
"Very well, if that is your choice, we will continue the test! Attack my Nefaliam!"
As Neftali instructed a dozen Nefaliam came flying at Lucius.
"Ok, so my first move will be to purge a Nefaliam!" Lucius cut through the first cat, freezing it in place. As he cut it he had 10 seconds before the next one could move.
"Ok, now by this point, a fireball should be coming!" Lucius said.
"Great fires that scorched the Earth, hear my cry! Fireball!" Neftali yelled
"Now! Blade of Chaos! Consume!"
Lucius used the dark edge of his blade on the fireball, completely consuming it with dark flames. As the fireball disappeared the remainder of his health fully restored.

"Impossible!" Neftali said "He can use the blade of chaos to consume my attacks?"
Lucius zipped around from Angel to angel, purging them with Order as Neftali stood amazed.
In a matter of a few minutes, Lucius had purged all of the Nefaliam, freezing them in place.
[Purge 100 enemies ]
[Mission complete! ]
"Impressive" Neftali said amazed. "I thought you would never use chaos again?"
"I promised not to use it to attack like that" Lucius said. "Not to seal it away forever"
"I see" Neftali said
"In order to climb this tower I will use light and darkness!" Lucius said. "If I use only light there may be times where I will suffer, if I use chaos there may be times where others will suffer. It's up to me to find the balance" He said
"And what if you cannot find that balance? What if you are unable to wield that blade?" Neftali asked.
"Anything is better, than being ignorant" Lucius said. "I'd much rather learn to wield this blade, then to ignorantly walk around with such power at my fingertips!"
"Well spoken, Lucius" Neftali said. "But are you ready for your greatest challenge yet?"
Jumping down from the top of the stadium, Neftali landed on a fallen pillar that was in front of Lucius, shaking the ground with his arrival.
ROOOOARRR!!!!
Neftali let out a ground shaking roar, blowing back Lucius's hair with its strength.
"Your a lot bigger up close," Lucius said. "But my goal is something greater than even you."
