5 Adopting and Steve's Death

It has been a rough couple of months for Lucifer. He didn't expect to keep Death from killing any humans that looked at her pervertedly was so hard!

But the bar was kind of fun to be in when Steve and James grabbed a couple of drinks. Lucifer was kind of getting attached to the two humans and thought, 'To hell with this! It's kind of good to know that both of them won't die but just be missing. Well, the bar will kind of get pretty lonely without James to keep it cheery with his stupidity.'

Lucifer felt a weird feeling in his chest when Steve said that he was getting signed up for the army. When he knew that he was joining, his mouth kept rambling about that Steve should be careful and whatnot.

Death wasn't getting any kind of attachment to any of the two but she was starting to get comfortable when the two were there. She was really irritated at James corny jokes but didn't try to kill him seeing that her husband was attached to the hairless ape.

She was more comfortable with the other human and wouldn't call him a hairless ape due to his kindness and his intellect. When she looked at the boy, she knew that he will have a bright future.

After two months since Steve got in the Military, he suddenly got buffed and he saw the kid running down the street chasing for a guy. After Steve got buff, he was spending lesser and lesser time in the bar, and that kind of saddened Lucifer.

James still kept coming to the bar and that lightened Lucifer's mood up a little. Death was really down these months due to Steve's lack of appearance in the bar. Seeing that the hairless ape was still coming to the bar without his better half, Death was even more irritated these past months.

Lucifer then remembered that James was supposed to be shipped out on June 14th and was puzzled. He then remembered that he was going to be shipped out today and that it was his last time being in the bar.

Lucifer thought, 'Why the hell am I being so attached to a human? The kid part of me must have changed a little of my perspective. But that kid part of me is already 225 million years old! Then why the hell am I being so attached?!'

Lucifer looked at James' disappearing back and said to Death, "We won't see that kid for a while now. So, how do you want to spend our time without both of them here?" Death smiled at him and dragged him in the bedroom. The two left the bar with one of Lucifer's employees and started to get freaky inside the room.

When Lucifer watched TV, he saw Steve wearing a ridiculous costume and started to laugh at him. Death also saw it and started to laugh with him. The two of them then went in one of his shows and when Steve saw them, he was so embarrassed that he started to run away. But Lucifer just grabbed the back of his clothes and handed him over to Death.

Death then started to make fun of his ridiculous clothes and laughed. Steve immediately struggled to get out of her grasp but couldn't seem to make her budge. He then gave Lucifer a "Help me!" look but Lucifer just cruelly smiled at him and walked towards Death's back.

Seeing that Lucifer wasn't helping him in the slightest, Steve gave an embarrassed look as he saw that all of the people were looking at them. Death then suddenly said, "If you weren't so silly wearing then I would have gladly adopted you in the family. Right Lucifer?"

Lucifer looked at her funnily and thought, 'You want to adopt a grown man!? Well, it would be kind of funny to have Steve call me father.' Lucifer smiled at her and said, "Of course Honey!" He then looked at Steve who had a horrified look on his face and smiled innocently.

Steve looked at Lucifer's "innocent look" and thought, 'Your face doesn't look anything close to innocent right now!! And why do you want to adopt me!? I'm a 25-year-old man! I don't want to get adopted!'

But looking at Death's happy face, Steve resolve faltered and seemed to think over it. He then remembered all the times that he was in the bar and how Death treated him like he was her son. He didn't know that Death doesn't have a clue on what she was doing but still was doing it due to her liking to him.

Death still embraced Steve in a tight hug that Lucifer was getting jealous now. He then pried Steve away from her grasp and said to the irritated Death, "Honey, we don't want you to kill Steve before you could adopt him would we?"

Death looked at Steve and noticed that he was heaving in a deep amount of oxygen due to the tightness of the embrace he felt earlier. She felt a little embarrassed and 'humphed' and turned away while saying, "I'm still going to adopt that little kid."

Lucifer and Steve looked at each other and sweatdropped. Steve looked at Lucifer in an exasperated manner and asked, "Are you really going to adopt me? But I'm already an adult!" Lucifer looked at the determined look on Death's face and said, "Well, tell that to your new mom first before asking that to me."

Steve then looked back at Death and saw her determined face and sweatdropped while thinking, 'Is this woman really the embodiment of Death!? And why does she seem so adamant about adopting me!?!?'

Seeing Steve's look, Lucifer wrapped his left arm around his shoulders and said, "Well kid, welcome to the family! Good thing that I'm somewhat attached to you or I would've thrown that idea out of the window."

Death was very happy hearing his words and thought, 'So, if he didn't like the person I was going to adopt then he wouldn't let them in the family?' Death was somewhat mad at the thought but wasn't going to deny the fact that he was the head of the family and had more say than her in the family.

Steve had even more sweatdrops dripping on the side of his face and thought, 'Don't I have a say in this matter!? Why are you guys deciding this without my agreement!?!'

Knowing what Steve was thinking, Lucifer smiled at him and whispered to him, "You wouldn't want the embodiment of Death going on a rampage, do you? And if she does, I wouldn't dare to stop her because you know, me being the Devil."

Steve looked at him in a horrified manner and looked back at Death and saw the determination in her eyes. Steve just let out a defeated sigh and asked Death, "You really aren't going to change your decision on this one?" Death then gave him a vigorous shake of her head.

Steve then looked at Lucifer who gave him an "innocent look" and asked, "Aren't you going to help me on this one?" Lucifer shook his head and whispered, "Kid, Death, and I have been trying to have a kid for millions of years but can't seem to make one. She seems to like you and I'm already a little attached to you so can you just let her be a little happy for once?"

Steve just let out an even deeper sigh and asked, "When do I sign the adoption papers?" Lucifer then produced the adoption papers out of thin air and gave it to him. When Steve looked at the papers, he gave a deadpanned and asked Lucifer in a monotone of voice, "What am I? A dog?"

Lucifer gave him a confused look and looked at the papers and saw that the papers were for dogs and received a glare from Death. He sheepishly smiled and disintegrated the papers and created a new one.

Steve looked at the paper again and saw that it was authentic this time. He then looked at Death one last time and sighed. But before he could even fill it up. he thought, 'It's a good thing that Death is a good person and kind of a good mom.'

When he finished filling it up, Death squealed and hugged him. Lucifer laughed at the bluing face of Steve and patted his shoulders and said, "Well Steve, it's nice to have another Morningstar in the family. But if you still want to use the Rogers name then just don't mention the Morningstar family name. You can just use the Rogers family name when you're introducing yourself to new people."

Death gave Steve a serious nod and continued, "Don't ever mention us to people that you don't trust." Steve was getting kind of nervous with all of the seriousness that was in the atmosphere and asked, "Why do you want me to hide the Morningstar family name? Do you guys have powerful enemies that I don't know of?"

Lucifer and Death then laughed and Lucifer said, "We don't have any of those and if we do then they would already be dead. We just think that you're still not comfortable with the Morningstar name and that you still want to use your original family name."

Steve then let out a sigh of relief and said, "Well, I'll keep that in mind. And can you let me go back now? The crew must be looking for me already? We've already been talking for two hours."

Lucifer and Death gave him a warm smile and Death said, "You go on son. Just be careful of the girls back there." Steve then hurriedly walked back to the backstage with a smile on his face while thinking, 'It's kind of nice to have a mother again. And to have a mother that's really caring is wonderful too.'

Death looked at Lucifer with excitement on her face and said, "Having a son is kind of filling up the void in my heart already, Lucy. But I still want to have a baby that's our flesh and blood." Death then had a sad look on her face when she was saying the last two words.

Lucifer just hugged her and stroked her head while saying, "It's going to be alright, honey. We just have to keep trying. And Steve is a kind and righteous man. He'll be the perfect son." 'Even though we only have him as a son for roughly two years.'

Death then gave him a teary-eyed smiled and said, "Really?" Lucifer smiled warmly at her and nodded his head. Death then excitedly says, "Then let's do that right now!" and proceeded to drag him towards their house.

When November happened to come around, Lucifer and Death heard Steve rescue nearly 400 soldiers from the German facilities. When Death found out that Steve was in the enemy territory alone, she almost started to go on a rampage in Germany. Good thing Steve got back before that happened and stopped her.

Steve then came back with James and other people to the bar and introduced them as the Howling Commandos. Death looked at James and scoffed while saying, "The hairless monkey is back," in an insulting way. James then replied, "Why don't you just hide in your bedroom, hag?"

It took Steve and Lucifer to hold back Death from killing James while the Howling Commandos had to get James away from Death, literally. After a few minutes, Death produced a knife out of nowhere and threw it at James and said, "Don't you dare call me a had again, understood?" James frantically nodded and almost passed out from fear.

The Howling Commandos looked at Steve's parents and thought, 'He has one hell of a mother.' Most of them just thought of Lucifer as the chill type kind of dad and got along with him.

Around this time, Lucifer and Death finally met Peggy Carter, and Lucifer had to say, "Well damn son, I'm so proud of being your father right now." Steve and Peggy blushed hard at his words while the Howling Commandos laughed boisterously at his words.

The Howling Commandos, Peggy, and Howard Stark seemed to like the drinks that he was making so they made his bar their official hang out place. Death seemed to be vigilant on Peggy but seeing Steve being so in love with her, she just had to sigh in defeat.

After a year and a couple of months had passed, The Howling Commandos, Peggy, and Howard came to the bar with a gloomy look on their faces. Lucifer noticed that James wasn't with them and knew that he was the reason they were like that. Death seemed to not react to anything they've said and just said, "It was his time." But she knew that he wasn't dead yet due to her not feeling him die.

A couple of weeks gone by and the Howling Commandos, Peggy, and Howard told them the sad news of Steve's death and Lucifer and Death just gave them calm looks and said, "We're prepared for this moment." But the real reason for them being okay was due to knowing that he wasn't really dead and that he was just inanimated. Well, Lucifer knew that he was frozen in ice while Death knew that he wasn't really dead due to her not feeling him enter her realm.

While the Howling Commandos, Peggy, and Howard were mourning for Steve in the bar, the whole United States of America was mourning for him. His parents weren't in the slightest bit of sad knowing that Steve wasn't dead and was just stuck in ice.

When Death knew that it was the Tesseract they were fighting over for, she widened her eyes and said, "So one of the Infinity Stones are here." Lucifer looked at her and cheerfully said, "Yep!" Death raised an eyebrow and said, "You knew of this and didn't tell me?"

Lucifer gave her a charming smile and said, "It would be beneath me to worry over a useless stone." Death just shook her head and said in an amused voice, "It's just useless to you because you know that the person who created those are weaker than you by a large margin." Lucifer smirked at her and pridefully said, "Of course! This Devil is one of the two beings in this Multiverse who is at the peak of power."

He then looked out of a window in their bar and said, "And I can't wait to mess with the heroes of the future and get away with it."
