15 Concerns of a Cultivator.

(My dear child, Kaylah just became a real cultivator, while she did not kill anyone yet, she has just been exposed to our world. We will have to set up a kill for her soon, but her expression recently is grim; was it right for me to bring her into this world so soon?)

This, used to be a world where killing was done out in the open, where millions died, because of an outdated idea called face. Now, however it has become a world where killings are done in the dark it would be a blessing if a family even knows who or why their heir was killed these days.

This has led to a golden age for cultivators as no longer are rare items wasted, in fact some items that were considered rare, are pretty common. It is highly uncommon for someone to be killed for such a thing anymore. It's even become a trend to kill arrogant young masters, and post their deaths online. Because of this, acting arrogant, has become a death wish.

There was even a case where a stage 10 master killed a stage 3 kid for hitting on a girl after clearly being rejected. It is unknown who did it, they used a common spell for the murder, it was mostly done just to show their cultivation level.

The only real disputes are over, certain areas that naturally collect magic to make magic stones, there is also the 5 divine items. That can help to stage 7, however those have been lost or destroyed. There was a rumor a long time ago that they can be combined to be useful to a stage 8 cultivator; this could be useful to an assassin, but it won't be world breaking any more like back in the day.

Recently there has been a trend of cultivator entertainers. They put on a show for some money or in more extreme cases magic stones. However, the most powerful cultivators are now merchants and appraisers, being able to identify an item is an art, and with the banking system the government has in place it tends to be safe, thier is some danger when buying items and moving them.

I wonder, how Kaylah feels about this? It's been a while sense I thought of these things; I wonder if the 10th stage wall will ever be broken again...

Meeting those cultivators, was scary that formation they set up was insanely complex, and it was done in an instant! I think my father would spend the better part of a year to do that, and father said that those two might even be weakened. The real powerhouses in the top sects and government must be insane! They could destroy our clan in a second! How did those smaller clans in the old days even live?

Thank God for the government, but it would be scary if there was a war, what if the government was weakened to the point of failure would my clan survive? I guess it's as the old books say to protect what one values one must be strong. Nowadays the only way to be 100% safe is to break the 10th stage wall, but that has not been done in 3000 years, and it's only been done by those legendary people, who flipped the world like it's a table.

Perhaps, I should go the path of an entertainer, or merchant? I can be an assassin on the side, the government does not care about them, as long as I target the dumb masters and hop on the trend, it feels like they are even supportive of it. Id, have to be careful as assassin killers are also becoming a thing, but I feel like this is the best path for now.

Joining a sect, could be a path, as they often provide training; in exchange for obtaining herbs, or becoming a strong fighter. The downside is I'd have to be loyal to the sect, which may not be a good idea. Joining as a nominal disciple, would not allow me access to the best teachings of the sect; However, learning from other sects, could allow me to created new more powerful spells and weapon arts.

The, best case would be to work with the government, as an assassin they often post missions, similar to the one my grandpa gave me earlier. It is also a good way to get noted for recruitment by the government, but you would have to be at least stage 8 or higher, in fact most of the issues are solved with money, I guess it could be considered the same as becoming a noble in the old days.

However, you have to treat mortal's properly, if a high-level cultivator kills a mortal without taking them to court, which even then a copy of the record has to be sent to the higher ups, would be cause for the cultivator to be hunted by the cultivator world, as such it really is not worth killing people.

After all who would decide to be hunted, then live comfortably.
