16 15th Quirk : Testing Abilities

Over the next few days Croc didn't run into Setsuna but he did send a good morning message everyday. His manga also released during this time and it has been doing really well. Croc also made an account on Flutter which is this worlds version of Twitter. He made it under the name Wani just like his book and uses it for promotion of his book and he also does quirky posts that make absolutely no sense. He got a few dozen followers so far because of his manga. He would also regularly reply to people who ask him questions about the manga. In this time he also went to the furniture store and bought a desk, side table, lamps, and whatever else he needed. He also bought kitchenware and towels from another store. He also bough a bunch of necessities like toilet paper toothbrushes/toothpaste, and more. Pretty much he made the house livable. Luckily it came with all the larger appliances already. The house is big but Croc really like cleaning so it was a bit fun for him. Currently Croc was leaving the apartment to go home for the day when he heard some people gossiping.

??? : Did you hear a hero is moving in on the second floor?

??? : Yea hes supposed to be some kind of bat hero.

Croc : 'Batman?'

??? : I think he was called Bat hero "Echo-Wing".

Croc : 'Not Batman.'

??? : Didn't that guy live in a sky scraper before or at least that's what I remember.

??? : yea he like high places for his quirk.

After they finished talking Croc left since there was no useful information and he only listened since he though it was Batman. Getting back home Croc went to bed shortly after eating dinner. When Croc woke up for school he realized he forgot his backpack at the apartment. He quickly told his grandparents and ran to the apartment so he won't be late to school. When he was also to the apartment he felt his instincts telling him he's being watched. Turning towards to feeling he sees a moderate sized bush. Although he feels hes being watched there is no danger from it so he approached the bush to try and see who or what it is. Combing through the bush he couldn't find anything and the feeling had went away. Croc decided that it isn't worth investigating and went get his backpack. When he was leaving the apartment he did run into Setsuna and greeted her.

Croc : Hey good morning again!

Setsuna : Good morning again too! I wasn't expecting to see you did you wait for me?

Setsuna asked with a mischievous smile.

Croc : No but maybe I should, but right now I'm gonna be late if I don't go. By the way you look a lot better now, Bye!

Setsuna just smiled and left for school as well.

On his way to school Croc once again felt the feeling of something watching him but this time he couldn't tell from where.

Croc : What the hell?

Croc looked around to try and find what it is since he could tell it was the same thing watching him. Croc looked around for over 5 minutes but still couldn't find anything. He then realized he was gonna be late if he doesn't run to school quickly.

Croc : I could get there in one and a half minutes but I'm not wearing clothing suitable for transforming. Guess I'll jump along the walls.

After 3 Minutes Croc got to school but he was late and had to stand in the hallway for first period.

Croc : This sucks... 'Since I got nothing to do... I'll just practice a bit of body manipulation!'

Croc decided to practice his quirk while no one is watching him since he is bored. Starting with his hand he tried to change his claws into normal fingernails. It was a slow process and after 2 minutes he could change them.

Croc : 'Why are these so hard to change compared to everything else? Must be due to my mutant body... I will have to practice manipulating then a lot'

Croc put it off and decided to try something else. This time he was imagining the eyes of a pit viper. Slowly Croc's Olive green eyes took a shade of bright yellow and his long pupil turned a dark black. Extremely small holes opened right to the side of the eyes and also on the side of his nose. Looking around Croc got a bit woozy.

Croc : 'Gaining a new sense really messes with your brain...'

The sense Croc is talking about is heat vision. He has been able to copy a pit vipers ability to sense heat but to do so he also has to lower his body heat. By lowering his heartbeat he is able to slow down his blood flow and in turn his body heat generation. He doesn't lower it to a dangerous degree but most doctor would be surprised by him being alive with only 12 beats per minute. He is able to do this by copying tortoises which can have a heart rate of less than 6 per minute. He isn't willing to go any lower though since 8 and below will be nearly definite death. Unlike tortoises though Croc doesn't lose speed due to a slow heart rate and keeps his normal speed even if his blood flow is slow. Croc can currently not see normal color and can only see through his heat vision similar to thermal goggles but with detail just as much as his normal eyes. So even though he can't see color normally he can see just as much detail. Looking down at his hand he notices something out of place on his backpack.

Croc : Is that a skink?

The thing on his backpack was a large two foot long skink. He noticed because it's releasing body heat strangely. He then went to pick it up. It seemed surprised and tried to run but Croc had it held securely.

Croc : 'How did I never notice this huge as* lizard on my backpack? Also why the f*** is it so big! Shouldn't these just grow to one and a half feet long?'

The skink seemed to calm down at this point and was just flicking its tongue every once in a while. Other than that it seemed to just slouch down in Croc's hand. Croc then changed his eyes back to normal to have a better look at the skink.

Croc : No wonder I couldn't see it its freaking invisible!

Croc said this out loud but luckily no one heard him. The skink in his hand was completely invisible even though he could feel it he couldn't see it at all.

Croc : 'No doubt, this is a quirk! No wonder it has body heat, one of the theories for animals gaining quirks is that they need to be warm blooded. I have heard of mammals gaining quirks and becoming cold blooded. But I never thought a cold blooded creature could gain a quirk and become warm blooded. Just how much isn't known about quirks...'

Croc getting out of his stupor put the large lizard on his arm and it held on. He then started petting it even though it was invisible.

Croc : I wish I could see you.

Croc muttered, but not long after the skink turned visible revealing its large pure white body with dark black stripes and spots scattered about it also had a long blue tail about 1 feet 3 inches long.

Croc : Pretty...

The skink then put its head up in the air and closed it's eyes with a smug look.

Croc : Are you showing off?

The skink then turned it's head away as if not willing to answer. Croc had his eyes wide open from this.

Croc : Can you understand me?

The skink turned back to Croc and nodded. Croc then noticed that the base of his tail had a bandage on it.

Croc : Were you hurt?

The skink just shook it's head and laid on Croc's arm looking a bit sad.

Croc : Did someone hurt you?

To this question the skink just nodded. Croc then proceeded to pet the skink to calm it down.

Croc : Want to come with me I always wanted a pet.

The skink looked at Croc in the eyes for a few seconds before it nodded.

Croc : Great! But I guess you have to go invisible you're a bit big.

The skink didn't go invisible but instead started to shrink at a quick pace it went from over 2 feet long to about 6 inches! Croc could also feel that the skink wasn't releasing as much heat.

Croc : You're full of surprises huh? Is this your actual size.

The skink just nodded and crawled to the collar of Croc and wrapped itself partially around his neck and turned invisible.

Croc : I wonder what species you are? You have a blue tongue and tail... I will also have to think of a name for you.

It wasn't long after that Croc was called back into class since his punishment was done.
