38 Granny

"Miss Yi Fei!" Owner Huo called out, his off-tone slightly changing. "Could you please explain the situation so I can understand?"

Before Yi Fei even had a chance to speak, the grumpy old lady pushed her off and screamed, "Your daughter dirtied my limited edition Guchansche bag! Pay me 3 million yuan before I sue you for 50 million!"

Owner Huo grunted, an unpleasant twist of his mouth. He whispered something suspicious to himself, causing Yi Fei to think that maybe calling Owner Huo was a bad idea.

"Cro-co-dile skin!!! Can you hear me?!" The old lady shrieked. "To repair just the outside of the bag will cost me 2.5 million yuan and it won't look as good as the original! Even then, who's gonna pay me for the time I wasted here and repairing?! Pay me 3 million yuan right now or else I will sue you for 50 million yuan!"

"Can you please provide your name?" Owner Huo politely asked. "I will let you talk to my lawyer."

"NO!! Just give me 3 million yuan right now!" The grandma unreasonably yelled. "What lawyer?! I'm gonna just sue you if you want lawyers involved!"

Owner Huo gently tried to talk to the old lady, passively agreeing and apologizing for Yi Fei. Yi Fei bit her lip, directing her gaze towards her burning hand. It felt like hell. She felt like hell. No, she was already in hell since she was born into this world. The grandma's overbearing voice filled her mind, causing her anxiety to submerge Yi Fei as if she was drowning in water.

"Granny!" A fruity, modulated voice shouted. "What are you doing in the middle of Beijing? We were waiting for you at the airport."

The old lady's convulsed face immediately softened, her brittle voice becoming cheerful and orotund. She ecstatically turned towards the man with her flashily long earrings jiggling around and gushed.

"Oo! My grandson!" The lady grinned. "You didn't need to look for me. I was just about to settle this matter!"

'Settle?' Yi Fei annoyingly questioned. 'That's the word she's gonna use?'

Owner Huo and Yi Fei became extremely quiet, their sole attention on the pair. Perhaps if they ran right now, they wouldn't need to deal with this anymore. Yi Fei meekly glanced towards the dark-haired man in a business suit. The first thing she noticed was his lofty height, reaching well over 190 centimeters. Even her brother wasn't that tall, she thought.

The grandma kept talking with the man as if Owner Huo and Yi Fei weren't there as they awkwardly stayed in place. Yi Fei worriedly gazed at the grandma whom she barely noticed as probably part of the top 1%. Yi Fei already knew that the bag she bloodied was a limited edition designer bag, but looking at her from head to toe... the granny only wore extremely high-quality goods. In other words, designer clothes. Would Yi Fei really need to pay that amount?

Yi Fei restlessly fiddled with her fingers, hastily glancing to the side. She had a weird habit of examing others from what they wore and how they talked, mostly because she worried about herself five times as much. Looking more closely, Yi Fei could tell his sleek navy suit were 100% natural fibers and his face was exceptionally handsome. A quiet smile lingered on his thin lips as his sea-green eyes glowered, and he faintly nodded as the grandma chattily babbled extensively.

Suddenly, his cat-like eyes caught Yi Fei in the act. Surprise swept over Yi Fei's face, her dried lips dropping a little. In the midst of the grandma still talking, the clean-cut man slightly smirked towards Yi Fei's direction.

"Granny, are these the people giving you trouble?" His low voice asked, causing Yi Fei to shudder.

"No no, she just dirtied my bag a bit. It's last season anyways," The grandma benevolently said. "My grandson is going to be the next president, why should I care about a bag some unimportant passersby ruined? Let's go before you get late for that meeting!"

"It's fine, grandma. My meeting can be delayed," He promised. "Family is more important."

"Aigh, my grandson!" The old lady laughed. "Let's not dilly-dally, I know your meeting is crucial for the family business. I'll go in the car first."

Yi Fei clumsily glanced at Owner Huo, quietly wondering when the situation would be over. Owner Huo wasn't blankly looking at them anymore, he was playing Tetris on his phone! While Yi Fei's mouth gaped at Owner Huo, the grandma hurriedly got in the black limo on the street. She was accompanied by a shady man in a black suit as her grandson followed after her.

But before entering, the attractive man gave Yi Fei a subtle glance. He abruptly began to laggardly approach Yi Fei.

"My name is Max," He casually pulled out his hand for Yi Fei to shake. "Seems like you angered my grandma."

Yi Fei instinctively squealed in her mind as she slowly shook the tall man's hand, "Yes..."

"Well, sorry for the trouble and don't worry about anything that she said. My grandma has a... bad temper sometimes," Max easily apologized. "That's all I wanted to say. Have a nice day."

Then he left.
