1 The secret of the Wei family

The Wei family was one of the five great families on the Xun continent, not only was it strong but it was also the oldest out of the five, having a rich history of more than ten thousand years. The Ancestor of the Wei family was an Immortal Level existence according to the legends. And today, this family is acknowledged as the 3rd strongest out of the five great families.

Publicly, there was only one Young Master in the family. Young master Wei Yun, the sole heir and most probably, the next Patriarch. His life has always been on the line ever since his birth. Their have been many assassination attempts, fortunately all of them failed. The Wei family's future would have been affected, if their young master was killed. Thus, he was always surrounded with bodyguards and masters. Wei Yun's cultivation was strongly supported by his family since birth by expensive pills and liquid baths. Wei Yun was currently walking towards a red house with hastened steps. This house was the smallest inside the Wei family territory, but the exterior of the house looked majestic and noble. Normally, there would be a strong guard beside the door, but today no guard could be seen. Actually, not only the guard, but everyone in the family were nowhere to be found.

Wei Yun entered the house and walked towards the bed in the center of the room. A young man could be seen sitting on a bed now and reading a book. His hair was very long, black and tied behind his head. His lean body was well maintained, yet he still seemed quite frail.

Wei Yun approached the youngster with a hesitant look on his face. This young man was none other than his older brother Wei Yuan. He was also the biggest secret of the Wei family. Why? This is why Wei Yun feared him. Wei Yuan was his older brother, but he didn't knew anything about him.

Wei Yuan closed the book and looked at Wei Yun with emotionless eyes. He liked his little brother and knew that he was the sole heir of the Wei clan, but the current appearance of this little brother is too timid.

"My little brother, why did you come this time?"

"I.. just want to take a walk with you."

Wei Yun always avoided his older brother and everyone knew this in the family, yet now he wanted to take a walk with him?

"Hmm? A walk with me? I will gladly take a walk with my little brother, but only if little brother can answer me two questions. How about it little brother?"

Wei Yun was in a hurry and he quickly accepted the offer. He knew that this is the only way to take a walk with his brother. Not to mention, this walk was extremely important.

"Okay, first question, you are the one who wants to take a walk with me? Or the family?"

Wei Yuan noticed this and knew that his little brother was trying very hard.

".... is it in danger?"

"N-no, Your life is not in danger."

It was obviously a lie. Wei Yuan revealed a sad face and stood up without reaction. He was still calm.

"Okay, let's go."

They started walking and Wei Yuan noticed the strange silence on the way. No guards, no servants. Now, he knows that his family wanted to do something to him. They continued on their way and soon left the family territory. Wei Yuan knew this direction. They were heading towards the Black Dragon Ravine. Everyone worked for the family and here only their status and talent mattered, even though no one seemed happy.

"I always knew that a day like this will come, but I never imagined that it would be this early. In my whole life, no one has ever helped me. And today I will be killed for the benefit of the family."

Wei Yuan walked forward with deep disappointment. He was disappointed in his parents, in the family, in the world. He stopped on the edge of the ravine for a second and jumped down without hesitation without ever turning back.
