"Okay. I'm completely lost." Colin said.

"Take it slow." Katrin advised. "This is a list of techniques that Shiro can use. They're sorted out by their source."

"Source?" Colin blinked.

"The first three use teeth. The Cat's paw uses his claws. Then there's tail techniques and lastly sonic techniques."

Colin saw. "Okay. So they're sorted out. They have different damage types too. Nice to know. But the rest…?"

Katrin laughed. "Basic MP cost, Basic Power, Mastery level, Percent To Next Level of Mastery, and Current Power."

Colin looked at her through narrowed eyes. "In simple language, please?"

Katrin smiled. "Look at Shiro's Bite technique. It has a basic cost of 1 MP."

"So every time Shiro bites something, he uses 1 MP." Colin figured. "Okay. What's this about Mastery?"

"Mastery is Shiro's experience in using that technique. The more he uses it, the better he gets at it. When he uses it enough, he'll reach the next level of mastery and it will be that much stronger."

Colin scratched his head.

"For example, his Bite is at level 5." Katrin explained. "And that's as high as it goes, so his %TNL is zero. Now, compare the Basic Power and the Current Power."

Colin frowned. "The Current Power is a lot higher."

"It's five times higher." Katrin said. "Multiply the base power by the mastery level, and you get current power. In other words, because Shiro's Bite is level 5, it's power is 5 times stronger than it was at first."

"And he'll still use 1 MP?" Colin stared.

"Yep." Katrin nodded.

"But his Sharp Fang has a higher Basic Power. Shouldn't he Master that one and use it instead?" Colin asked.

"He should." Katrin agreed. "But most of the time, for a Comrade to learn a stronger technique, he needs to master the weaker one first."

"Huh?" Colin blinked.

"Look at the second section."

Colin frowned.

"Those," Katrin explained, "are the techniques that Shiro can learn at his current growth stage. The reason why he hasn't learnt them is because he hasn't Mastered the easier versions of them. To learn Hypersonic Bolt, the last one, for example, he needs to master Sonic Bolt to level 5."

"It says here that his Sonic Howl is at level 1." Colin frowned. "I didn't even know he had such a Howl."

"I think it's newly learnt." Katrin said. "If he's anything like my Mandra, he'd need to Master Howl to level 5 and Sonic Bolt to level 4 to learn it."

"Oh." Colin said. He sighed. "And I'm going to have to learn the techniques of ALL my Comrades?!"

"If you want to command them well, yes." Katrin said.

Colin let out a groan.
