Waking Up....Again?

𝘣𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨.....𝘣𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨.....

"Ugh...."

My eyes slowly start to open as I turn towards my phone, shutting down the alarm. I stretch my arms and I look at the time.

*yawn* "...7 o'clock, huh?"

I blink and pause for a second as I begin to get up from my bed. 'Man, that dream was something else.' I try to remember the smaller details of the dream as it slowly fades from my memory. 'Oh well, it was just a dream.'

I do my daily morning routine and get clothed for school. 'Hmm, 7:30 huh...guess I can eat something real quick.' As I prep a piece of bread in the toaster, my mother steps inside the kitchen.

"Morning, Masato. Have you eaten yet?" she asks.

"Not yet mom, I'm just prepping a piece of toast right now. Is Dad still not up yet?" I asked.

"No, not yet" Mom says with a tinge of disappointment, "he was out last night drinking with his co-workers and got totally wasted." *sigh*

"Maybe it was mandatory, don't judge him too hard, Mom" I casually said, "there's a reason for everything."

'Yeah, everything indeed....'

"Oh well, nothing I can do about it now" she shrugged," don't you have to be at school soon?"

"Yeah" I said.

"Then get going alrea-" *ping!* The toaster sprung.

"I'm gonna be on time mom, don't worry about me" I said as I stuffed the toast into my mouth, "besides, don't you need to be somewhere right now?"

"Oh shoot! I completely forgot!" Mom said frantically, "get going now, be safe today okay? You've been having too many accidents with that bike recently"

"Yeah mom, I know. I'll be careful today. No promises though, yeah?" I grinned as I tied my shoelaces.

"Just be safe. I need to go ready up now" she said as she dashed into the bathroom.

'Yeah, I'll try to, Mom'

I stepped outside and breathed in the fresh air.

"Alright. Let's hope today is a better day"

And I set off for school.
