2 ITS HARD TO COME TO TERMS WITH THE FACT THAT WHAT YOU THINK IS REALITY MAY NOT BE THE TRUTH

It was Saturday so she didn't have school today. She could not sleep for a minute

and spent all night crying. Her eyes were red with tears. And her face was swollen.

She was crying more and more and thinking how she would face her parents now.

She mustered up a small strength and went downstairs.

Her parents were waiting for her at the breakfast table. Seeing her coming. They

both smiled and one of them said.

''Emily! Sweetie! Come here and eat'' It was her father.

It was hard for her to accept that how were they carrying on so casual as in case

nothing happened last night.

She sat quietly. Her mother looked into her eyes and spoke.

''Why are your eyes ruddy, didn't you rested well'' ''I told you to not ponder till

late at night'' ''You never listen to me'' Her mother was saying all that casually. It

was a portion of her everyday schedule but today, those words, for the first time,

sounded heavy to her. she felt something strange. She also wanted to act casually

like them but she couldn't.

''What about the competition in which you participated'' ''Its result was coming

out today, right?'' Her father addressed her while eating an omelet, she listened but

she was so much drenched in her thoughts that she did not answer.

''Emily! Darling'' ''Are you alright'' She felt a touch on her shoulder.

''Ah! Yeah! I got first at national level'' She answered with a forced grin. ''My

beautiful girl, I knew, you'll do it'' her Mom said and embraced her. Her parents praised her and they decided to cherish the moment but she denied

since she was not excited any longer, as she was last night when she surged into

their room to tell them this news but what she saw there, changed her completely

that she was not able to feel anything anymore.
