12 Status knowledge and races.

Pan came to me waving her arm. I didn't quite understand what she was shouting. Then I blacked out.

__________

"Sam! Sam, wake up!"

When I opened my eyes again I saw Pans face right in front of me. She had leaned my unconscious body against a tree.

"What was that?" I asked her finally.

"How would I know. I thought you don't know how to fight but that move was awesome!"

"I really don't know... That move - I did it without actually doing something."

"What do you mean? Like you just did it without thinking or what?"

"No, it's like my body wasn't my own for that moment, I was conscious. I knew what was going on, but I couldn't control anything."

"That doesn't really sound comfortable."

"It wasn't, believe me!"

We talked a little more until I could move. It was like my energy was drained to zero. I thought of something and called up my status. Like I thought, my MP went down a lot. It's now at 5/20 (+15). I wonder how this +15 is calculated. Maby I normally have only 5 maximum and the addition of 15 brings it to 20?

Now that I actively ponder over this, I remembered that I wanted to ask Pan about this whole status thingy.

"Pan... what is that status that was named in that room and the other one shown on the crystal?" I mean they're joint in my 'thought-status'.

"You mean that list of your attributes classes and skills?"

"Yup, that's it."

"Hmm. Well, you do know what Health, Mana and so on means, right?"

"Yeah, I just want to know how the average status is looking. And maybe some explanations about the classes and skills. Could you do me the favour Pan?"

"Of course, no problem."

Pan then bought out some paper from her backpack and a pen. Afterwards, she made a list of the normal stats and showed it to me.

"You see, this is the average status from a male adult with the rank of a disciple. The level maximum as a disciple is 20."

Wow. These stats are about the opposite of mine in regards to the distribution of values.

"Thank you... Can you also elaborate which races and classes exist?"

"Well, there are way too many different races that I could name them all, but I can tell you about the main ones."

Humans: Their speciality lies in the ability to learn almost everything. But they have nothing they alone - in comparison to the other races - excel at.

Demi-humans: They have a very robust body and concentrate on melee fighting. Some of them have very sharp senses and specialize in tracking, using traps and surprise attacks.

Elves: They are very complicated. There is the 'Tree-elf', the 'Waterelf', the 'Nightelf' and the most troublesome is the 'Lightelf'. Even I don't know the exact structure of their system. But I am a Tree-elf.

Dragonkin: They are like dragons; super strong. Don't offend them. Well, if you ever meet one.

Dwarves: They don't fight that often. They specialize in handwork.

"Do you need specific knowledge of one of the races?"

"I would like to know more about the elves. Tell me everything you know. And as a side note, the voice in that examination room said that I am a nightelf."

"Oh... Then I can tell you. If you weren't one of us I wouldn't do it even if you had begged me."

"Great!"
