11 Gruesome skill

The night was pretty harsh for me. Through I already slept outside with Pan when she got me out of the cave, it was a different situation. Now I have to make sure we are safe myself. Pan wouldn't give me tips on that topic. In the end, I didn't even get one second of sleep.

"Only two minutes more, kay?"

"Two minutes you said it, but I won't get you breakfast." It would be great if I can get myself one.

After I finished my sentence, Pan got up surprisingly fast. No one can defeat hunger.

"Come, I'll show you our next hunting place. I don't want you to fail this exam when I was the one who recommended you."

It seems Pan cares more about her dignity than the rules.

The field we came to, was huge. For a moment I forgot we were in a mountainous area. Even from the edge, one could see the different animals that were grazing.

"Do you see that Mallela right there?"

"Mallela?" What do you mean Pan?!

"The big fat brown Mallela there!"

"Oh, you mean the buffalo?"

"What is a buffalo?" ... Pan the same I want to ask concerning the Mallela!

"Forget it. So what up with the 'Mallela'?"

"Well, it is considered a beast too. But this one is a herbivore and just attacks if you harm it. So you can get near it and do a surprise attack. If you can hurt it severely it can't retaliate."

"Pan, I already said, I can't hurt an animal."

"You already fished one... No, two."

"..." You're mean! But right. "Ok, I'll try. But don't expect much. And please save me if I can't do it properly."

"Yeah yeah. Go go!"

And with that Pan shoved me into the field.

Sam, you can do it! I said to myself... wait, Pan said I should do a surprise attack, but how?!

I still went forward. 20 meters, 10 meters, 5 meters. I could practically pet the Mallela right now.

[SAM! You're an idiot, use >Shadowwaltz<! Why else would you have it?!]

What was that!!! This sounds like the voice in the exam room back in the guild, I think.

Even so, from where does it come?

I still don't really understand this. So apparently I'm good with short weapons and fast pace fighting? And why carving? Because I made that 'spear' yesterday?

I did as told and imagined something along the lines of stealth. Somehow my body moved on its own and I just remember stabbing the Mallela in the throat and killing it with one hit.

... I can't believe it. I killed this big animal just like that. Without even the slightest hesitation!!! Is this still me?

I was shocked at my own reaction to the skill. My body did this without me controlling anything. It was like a trance!

Horrific!
