3 The first encounter

After he started his journey to the town of floris, he started to go through the memory of the young thief. "Hmm....well, seems like he's from a not-so-good type of family. Although they are poor, they still managed to get this guy a good set of equipment which is commendable, but I still don't get why he would be a thief if they did so much for him?" as that question came to his mind a sudden flash flashed in his mind and somewhat movie like memory was shown to him. In it there was the father of the youth standing with someone clad in a cloak and they seemed like best buddies talking after a long reunion. Later, his dad introduced him to that mysterious guy and so, turns out that guy was a thief. Later, his dad asked him to teach 'void' the young lad the way and methods of a thief. Seeing this Saito was stunned for a moment and swear inwardly, "WTF!? Did his dad ask a guy to teach his son the way of the thief!? The f*ck is that? What kind of a stupid father is this guy? If he asked a warrior or a mage or some other class....well it wouldn't have end in the profit for me but...why a thief? Does he want his son to be a social scumbag? So confusing" although it was a bit confusing he let it slide for the time being and started to see the gift given to this guy by that 'master' thief named Roland. "This dagger awfully feels familiar to me, but I don't know why, I can't pin point where I saw this" he emerged in deep thinking about this dagger and this master thief guy. Then suddenenly, he remembered something. There was a hint of disbelief in his face, "this.....this guy....no way! NO F*CKING WAY! this guy is 'that' Roland!? He can't be....that guy is a f*cking boss of a f*cking instance! If that's so, then he should also be a bad guy not a friendly ol pal of dad from the neighborhood kinda guy!" his mind was in chaos as he thought back the times when he was killed 10 times over and over when he tried to solo that guy but everything went in vain. At last, with the help of his friends he ganged up on that guy and killed him. His friends all mocked him for getting killed. He burned inside because of embarrassment, later on he always goes to that instance dungeon to vent his anger. Now that he found the link between this master thief Roland and the instance boss called 'Master Rouge' he understood that this pair of daggers are not but the boss drop which is very useful for low lvl thieves, he shifted his gaze to the pendent.

"This pendent gives out similar feel that on par with the dagger and also feels a bit different feel from the daggers" then he started to dig about the pendent and when he saw the series of memory he almost wanted to weep for the poor guy. From the moment he saw the memory of this young thief, his heart was filled with sympathy for the unfortunate guy. After a 'sigh' he mumbled, "dude, you really should have made a move on her before you left you village. Losing your chance to confess to you childhood friend and crush is the worst thing to happen". "She must have really liked you to present a magic grade item as a parting gift and a pendent in that! Your luck is really sh*t for you to leave such a beautiful and lovely girl just to die.....I feel sorry for you pal".

After feeling sorry for the poor guy, he started examining the pendent, "its not a normal pendent that's for sure. But why does it have only one effect if its a magic grade item? Surely it should have more than one, weapons and accessories are totally different as the former have one or two effect with high damage for its lvl, while the later has more effects and less or no damage" he pondered into it for a while before coming to a conclusion why this has only one effect, "I think this pendent should have hidden effect that is yet to be activated just like the daggers! Although its only a wild guess if it turns out that way then I'm really way too f*cking lucky!". "Alright, since I came to this world and possessed this guy's body, I guess I should do what all the guys in those webnovels and anime do! I should adapt and accept this character and see what kind of adventure waits for me!" He went of his path through the forest of half heart to town of floris but he never thought that he would have to get in action before even covering halfway to the town.

In the forest of half heart

Aisha, a mage who came to explore the forest and gather some herbal fruits for a quest announced in the adventures guild. She thought about asking her friend to go for gathering some but she never expected to see that her friend was flirting with a women in the dragon corn pub. She never thought he would a guy like that who plays with women, so she was too disgusted at such a sight and decided to go alone for the quest. After all, it was only a gathering some herbal fruits for some reason that she would never know, she went on her way to get those fruits. But, she would have never expected that those fruits would grow deep in the forest of half heart. So, she then made her way through deep in the forest and finally found that fruit and took 30 of them then went on her way to the town. On the way everything was peaceful, the birds chirping, the cool forest breeze blowing and the cool sensation of the wind which it touches the face, she felt like she was in the most beautiful and wonderful place compared to the pub she visted earlier. When she was admiring the beauty of the nature, suddenly six lvl 6 silver wild wolves appeared out of nowhere and stared at her with pure killing intent. When she felt like some danger was upon her she picked herself up and composed herself in a battle stance with her wand.

She never thought that she would encounter five lvl 6 wild wolves just because she came her to gather some fruits for a pretty easy quest. "Oh god! Why do I have to encounter these wolves today? Exactly when I'm all alone in a forest with no one to help me!? I'm only a lvl 4 mage for crying out loud!" Her mind was in disarray as she was frightened at the scene of six lvl 6 wild wolves. "They should not be her at all! Or did I accidentally entered the middle zone of the forest of half heart? Damn it!" She swear in her mind and got back to reality and started to channel her mana and recited a spell for half a second and shouted.

"Frost shards!"

Frost shards : level 3 elemental spell

Effects : forms frozen shards with sharp tip and launch at the direction of the opponent dealing damage to multiple targets. (AOE attack)

The moment the spell formed, she directed those shards towards the wolves. When the wolves saw that the opposite side had chosen to attack them, they gradually evaded the shards using their superior agility compared to the mage in front of them. When the shards darted towards them, four of the wolves escaped easily while two of them got caught in the spell and wounded themselves. Seeing their companions get hurt other wolves got angry and went on rampage. "Oh no, this is not good! They got pissed and went rage on that attack! Damn it!" She started to regret not using a low lvl spell to divert them and kill one by one than to use a high lvl spell she knows. "If this carries on I'll soon be dead! I should have asked someone else to be a tank, it was a mistake to come here alone!" As she was complaining about her situation the four wolves launched themselves at her. Seeing that the remaining four wolves launch at her she panicked at first but calmed herself in a second and casted defence spell.

"Earth wall!"

Earth wall : level 3 elemental spell

Effects : summons an earth wall to defend the caster.

When the wall rose the wolves were caught of guard and she used that time to caste the powerful spell she knows to wipeout the pack of wolves in one go. It took her 3 seconds to cast it.

"Hailstorm!"

Hailstorm : level 4 storm spell

Effect : summons a hailstorm with ice crystals to deal heavy damage to the targets in radius of the spell. (AOE attack)

When the spell took effect all of her MP has been drained. She tried to keep her consciousness when the hailstorm engulfed the wolves. "Haha...guess I can make it alive today huh?" As she said the storm ended and 4 dead wolves with ice crystals pierced into their body lay there without moving. "What! Only four!? There should be six wolves!" Her mind was in disbelief as she watched the scene in front of her as two of the wolves were missing among then.

Suddenly, two silver wolves emerged out of nowhere and stared at her with eyes filled with rage at the scene of their companions lay dead on the ground. She lost all her hope to survive as her mana is dried empty and with no weapon in her hand, she's good as dead.

At that moment, someone darted out of the bush and launched himself into the air and spin three times. Before closing her eyes, last scene that caught her eyes was someone killing one of the wild wolf and darted towards the other, "am I....being saved?" That was the last thought that came to her before losing consciousness.

When void saw the scene of a young girl with a wand in her hand single handedly fight six level 6 silver wild wolves, he thought of going in to help her but as all the attacks she used were AOE type attacks, he hesitated and thought of going in if she can't take all of them and run out of mana. Just as he thought of that another AOE attack came at the wolves and four of then died. "Not bad, handling all those lvl 6 wolves with AOE attacks". "Wait! There is only four of them where is the remaining two? Did they run away?" When he was thinking about the other two wounded wolves, suddenly two wolves with some wounds on their body came out of nowhere and stared at her with eyes filled with killing intent. "Not good, she seems out of mana and losing consciousness! I need to make a move" with that said he darted out towards the wolves and launched himself 6 feet onto the air and did three spin after unsheathing his daggers.

When he neared the first wolves, right after the third spin he performed 'slit' skill right at the back neck of the wolf. As the blade of the dagger in his right hand touched the wolves hide, it opened its neck and cut the spinal cord of the wolf as blood gushing out it fall on the ground and lay dead. The second he cut the first wolf he didn't waste time and spin while crouching and launched at the second wolf. When the second wolf sensed danger it as its companion died within second it jumped to avoid the attack at came at it, but alas its effort was in vain. When the moment the second wolf jumped, void smiled as he aimed for its throat, "ha! Showing your throat to a guy who was an assassin in his previous life? Do you want to die that bad? Don't worry I'll make your dream come true! Hahahahaha" as he neared the wolf he performed another 'slit' and cut opened its throat and killed it on spot.

After killing those two wolves he glanced at his status menu to see if there is any changes, he was shocked as he saw two notifications.

Level up : 2 - 3

"Hahahahahahaha" he laughed like a maniac inside and kept his calm outside with satisfaction with the result. He then looked at the girl who has exhausted her mana in the fight with wolves.

"Who is she anyway? What was she doing here, deep in the forest?" These questions kept piping up in his mind and he decided to wake her up and ask herself these question as it was a pain in the @$$ to think about them. He took out his water bag and poured some water on her face to see if she can wake up. After a while, she slowly woke up and when she saw him crouching in front of her she was startled at first and asked in a shaking voice, "who..... Who are you!? Wha-.... What do want!? What did you do to me when I was without consciousness!?" She kept thundering him with questions while looking at him like a pervert who did perverted things to a girl who lost her consciousness.

Void was helpless against these questions as he let out a 'sigh' and said, "calm down alright? I just saved you when you were to be eaten by two hungry wolves with rage. I thought about moving in earlier to help you, but you kept showering AOE attacks so I hesitated to be caught in the crossfire" as he finished saying this the suspicion in the girls eyes faded and filled with gratitude.

"I'm sorry!"

"No, never mind it. Everyone does that especially girls if they saw some unknown guy right after they wake up. Oh yea, by the way I'm Void. A rouge thief, And you?"

"I'm.... I'm Aisha. I'm a mage."

"Nice to meet you"

"Same here."
