1 Beginning

He opened the game and a notification appeared in his screen:

"At least I'm a normal person with normal life in this"he thought."Yes, only if I can be like this my life will be better"."My friends in this don't betray me, no one comes to me looking for problems, and I can be as free as I want"he thought as he brought his hands near the screen and clenched it and said with a firm tone "Only if I can be a person I want.....my life will be better"

He opened the character status menu and it showed:

"This is the real 'me'. The 'me' in this world is just an illusion I have to bear with." he said to himself and started playing the game alone by going to the field and killing mobs for exp and coins. After killing god-knows-how many mobs he then goes back to town.

After coming back to a nearby town where he usually goes he saw everything was the same and said to himself,"nothing changes here unless there's an update that is". He glanced around for a while when his eyes caught something very out of the blue thing, something that was never there before. "Huh? Was there an update or an event?" he frowned upon seeing it, "no, I'm sure there was no patch loading before but how.... ".

There is a dark cloaked figure with his hands folded In the front standing ten feet from him. Suddenly, that figure saw him with his red eyes and with a scar in his face which gave him goosebumps and let his forehead run in cold sweat. "Holy mother of ****! WTF is with this guys!?damn! That was crazy and scary at the same time"."sigh" he let out a sigh of relief and said "well, whoever the f*ck that guy is supposed to be I don't care! He's just an NPC! Why should I be scared?" he thought as he wiped off the sweat from his face. "Might as well see who he is." he decided to go to that NPC. But, at that movement he noticed something very odd, "this is odd" he thought and looked around to only notice that he was the only player in that town. "Ok, this is getting way more weirder and spooky than I thought " he said that in a firm tone and tried messaging his friends only to see that his friend list is totally empty.

"Maybe its a bug it should get back to normal after I restart I guess"he said.

But, when he tried to restart the game it didn't even flitch and stayed just like that. He tried restarting the computer but the mouse didn't work and he thought, "maybe lagged? Or is it a virus? Maybe I should do a system clean up after this I guess." he then thought of pulling the plug and start it again. Before he could do it a voice called out to him, "assassin". All the hair in his body got up and he freaked out upon seeing that,"NO WAY! Did that guy just called me "assassin"? There is no way a NPC can talk without clicking on "talk" and yet this guy just called out to me? Not to mention when I'm Ten feet away! This is weird! Totally weird! I gotta pull the plug before some weird sh*t happens!" With that he went on to pull the plug. But, the voice called him out again before he can pull it, "assassin"."I need to ask you something" that figure said to him as he stared at the screen in disbelief. "Wha.... " before he can say anything the figure continued, "I know you might not believe it. But I got no choice other than seek you for help." said the figure as he walked out of his post and stood in front of him with both hands folded in front of his chest.

Looking at him in a closer view he could see that his eyes weren't red, but with crimson pupils with a tinge of hope. He decided not to panic and hear him out, "Alright, I'll hear you out. What did u wanted to ask me?" he said to the figure not panicking anymore.

The figure nodded with satisfaction and said, "My name is Gasef, Leader of the Shadow Creed. I'm a shadow assassin like you and also a follower of the shadow and a servant of the shadow lord". Saito stared at him with a blank face and said, "wait a second! I agree with you being a shadow assassin and all. But a follower of shadow and a servant of the shadow lord? What the heck is that? There is nothing like that in the game! Are you making things up? Cause it seems like it there are other gods followers and sh*t, never a shadow follower or that shadow lord you just said!"

The figure named Gasef didn't say anything to his comment and only smiled and said, "This world is big and mysterious than we both know off. but I just want to ask you only one thing. Do you want to live the life you want and serve the shadow?" Gasef asked in a serious tone. he thought for ten seconds and let you a 'sigh' and said, "Yes, I want to. There is no life for me here anyway, so if this is my chance like those webnovels and anime I will take it. It always feels good to have a bit of strength to do the things I want and do things I like.". "Gasef, I'll accept your offer and become a follower of shadow." he said that in a firm manner and not knowing what the hell is going on. He believed that this could be his chance to have a life that he wants, a life that he yearns for, he believed that his life could be better and adventurous like those webnovels he read.

*That's what I would like to hear" Gasef said as he was satisfied with the answer he just got. He turned and started to walk away but stopped after ten steps and turned his head around and said, "Brother Saito, Welcome to the Shadow Creed". As he said that he disappeared without a trace and Saito blacked out after that.

When he woke up again holding his head as it hurts a bit he glanced at the screen and saw that everything was back to normal, "ah, so I slept at the desk" he thought back everything and let out a sigh, "so, that was all a dream huh? Well you can only hope that in a dream to happen anyway." he said as he went back to play the game again.

Time went on and he lost the track of time and fallen asleep on the desk again and he again saw Gasef in the dream again and told him, "your adventure is about to begin, Brother". He said that and vanished into the darkness. Then after who-knows-how-long he woke up again. But what he saw startled him. He watched the scene in front of him with mouth wide agap. Then, he remembered what Gasef said this time.
