4 Befriending

"So, what are you doing here this deep in the forest?" He asked her as he passed his water bag to her. "I'm here to collect some herbal fruits for the quest announced by the adventurers guild. When I was on my way back, I was enjoying the nature and let my guard down, that was when the silver wild wolves Suddenly attacked me. I'm only a level 4 mage and they are level 6 so it is hard to fight them which is why I had to use AOE attacks to inflict damage to them. I used up three high level spells I know and drained my mana power. But, it still doesn't change the fact that you saved me in the right moment. Thank you very much for saving my life, I'll do anything to repay you for this" only after saying that she understood what she said and was extremely embarrassed at the thought of what he might ask her but his reply shocked her even more, "nah, never mind it. I would save you or anyone else in that situation even without benefits. Its only human nature" he said that helplessly as thinking about what she was thinking after saying 'I'll do anything' and her face became beat red as she should be thinking some perverted stuff he might ask her to do. So he decided to play the gentleman part.

After chatting a bit he learned that she's from town of floris and came here for some quest business, so he relaxed a bit while chatting with her. "Oh yea, by the way why are you here in the forest? Did you also come here for a quest?" She suddenly asked him this question to him.

"Who? Me?"

"Yes you, cause I don't think there's anyone else beside us two here"

He was caught off guard when she asked him this question. He thought for a second and decided to go with the original story of the youth, "I was on my way to the town to get registered as an official adventurer and look for a place to stay for a while which is not expensive before taking a look at the quests."

She was surprised at his response as she thought that he was here for a quest, but she never expected that he was not even an official adventurer to begin with. "Wait! You are not an official adventurer? Your skills just now were amazing! How could you fight like that if you are not an official adventurer?" She asked him directly and only then she realized that she was rude to the guy who saved her just now. "Oh that, I'm only a level 3 thief not a professional or an expert, I just had a good teacher to teach me the way of a thief and how to fight and survive. Its not a big deal" he said it casually to her as he thought she won't do anything to him knowing this anyway.

"Oh, is that so. Then you teacher should be really an expect, for him to teach you this level of fighting technique that can match with skilled people at this level! He really is admirable" she then started to think about her experience with her mentor when she was only a mage apprentice. When he noticed something was off, he thought she must have remembered her past, I guess its good to leave her. The moment he got up to leave she noticed him and asked, "what are doing? Are you going to leave?" When he heard this he said with a straightforward face, "yea, I'm going to the town and I would like to get there before it gets dark if possible"

When she heard this she thought of something and said, "if you don't mind, can I join you? We both are going to the town anyway i can be your guide and also I'm out of mana, so..... " she felt a bit ashamed when she said that she was out of mana and she's not combat capable. She thought he might refuse her since she is not combat capable and won't be able to aid him in battle, his answer caught her by surprise again, "hmm, sure I don't mind either we are going to the town in the end anyway" he said that with a smile on his face and gave her his hand to help her stand up.

'Well, he's not a bad guy or a scum like those men in the bar, flirting with women all the time' she thought back the scene when her friend was flirting with a women in the pub. She got pissed at it once again, but regained her composure. When she stood up, only then did he glance at her delicate body and pretty face, "well she's not bad at looks but compared to Cecilia, I would give her 7/10 for her looks" he then returned to the reality and they both started their way to the town. On the way, they chatted a bit more and became friends and shared what they had experienced and what they had encountered and joked.

After three to four hours they arrived at the gate of the town.

"So.... We are here. Do you want me to help you around since you are new to the town?" She asked him when they were about to part ways. "Well, I wouldn't say no to that offer" he shrugged his shoulders and said that. she smiled at him with satisfaction on her face and asked, "so...... Where do you want to go first? The inn or the adventurers guild?". When she asked him this question he pondered for a while before coming to a decision, "well, let's go the inn first, we don't want the good rooms to be sold out and have the expensive rooms for renting" he said that helplessly as he only had 50 silver coins and no more. Hearing his reply, she thought for a bit and said, "well, I guess you are right about that. So, what type of room do you want? and how much do you got?"

"I got like 50 silver coins, so I would like a cheaper one instead of an expensive one" he said that without thinking and looked at her who had returned to thinking again. She spoke again after a while, "well, you can get more than a cheaper room with 50 silver in your hand. Don't you want those special services? I heard men prefer places with special services even if it costs high" there was a smirk on her face when she said that. "Special....... Services? No I'm good I'd like a good place to stay with cheaper price and peacefulness. I have no need of those ridiculous services you just said"

'Wow, such straightforwardness! Maybe he's lying so he could leave a good impression on me?" She thought as she asked him, "you know? You don't have to hold it like that just to leave a good impression on me". When she said that he was dumbfounded as why would she ask me such an idiotic thing?, "who said it was to leave a good impression on you? I'm merely caring for my health nothing else. I would go out in the forest to tune my dagger skills then wasting my time around in a inn and playing with a women" he said that with a distain in his tone as he was clearly annoyed by what she said.

Realizing what she said was rude from his tone she immediately apologized to him, "I'm so sorry! I just thought that..........men always like those sort of things, Infact you are the first one who didn't even try to flirt with me so I thought you were doing it on purpose to get close to me.........I'm really so sorry!" when he heard what she said he thought, 'ah, so that's the reason huh? Well in a world like this it is hard to find someone with morale, I can't blame you for that nor can I say I'm not from this world and a guy from a modern world who got dragged here into this guy's body, can i?" He let out a 'sigh' and said to her, "Nah, don't mind it, after all its not your mistake to be around men like that anyway. Its your situation that got you into this, I don't have the right to judge you for I don't even have a hint of what you bee through here" he said that with his hands folded. When she heard it, she had sparkles in her eyes. It clearly showed that this town of full of @$$holes and bastard's with some exceptions.

"'Sigh'...... Shall we go now? I don't wanna be late its already evening now, we gotta find a inn quickly for me to stay" she jolted back to reality the moment she heard that, "yea your right, I have an idea but I don't know if you will accept it or not?". "Hmm? What is it?" He asked as he was thinking about assigning tomorrow as an official adventurer at adventurers guild. "Well..........if you don't mind you can stay in the inn I stay, its cheap and no ridiculous services and has good food too. It only costs 5 copper coins for a night and 5 copper for food and the owner of the inn is also a good lady and her daughter is my friend, they will be happy to let you rent a room there" when she said that her eyes lit up and it was clear that she was planing something, but let it slide as he need an inn to stay with cheap price, so he accepted her offer, "yea sure, I would like to if its cheap as you say it is" he shrugged when replying to her. "Alright then! Let's go!" She was really enthused and he got no idea why she's like this nor did he want to pry so he just let her grab his wrist and both of them strode into the town.
