5 Chapter 5: Awakening Spirit

There it was it was in font of him A dragon a massive, he was paying so much attention that he didn't even notice that he changed locations. " Yes kid I am a dragon, an Ancient Dragon to be exact, my name is Houyan, okay brat now that I know our linage I'll answer one question of yours.""One questions." Sam began to ponder." Where am I." The Dragon looked surprised, he had expected the child to ask about his ancestor. " Well you're too weak to understand right now but think of this space like a second earth, we call this the Mirage World it his thousands of times bigger than Earth, this is where powerful magical creature like me reside. One day you will come here again, when you do just call my name and I will have a present for you. But, for now this is goodbye Wang Yong."

Sam didn't notice that the Dragon called his real name nor did he notice the Coiling Dragon symbol appear on his leg as he fell unconscious. Once again he fell in the water, this time he was pulled out by Fang'er onto the shore. Through the wet clothing he could see the brand and couldn't help but smirk. ' What a monster" he thought as he carried him out of he manor. " Hey gramps this guy has finished his Awakening."

"Hmm." Old Lin took a look at Sam's mark and smiled brightly, then frowned again.

After thinking for some time he said' Bring him over there until he wakes up, even though he can't know everything, I can tell him a little bit if info." He thought.

It didn't take long for Sam to wake up confused as he was. " Well brat looks like it went well." Sam was shocked as he turned around and looked at the Old Man. " What happened." Old Man Lin couldn't help but smile. " Well brat you awakened your martial spirit." He said only for same to give him a 'What in the hell is that' look. " Well to put it simply everyone is born with a martial spirit however some cannot awaken them. Sometimes the spirit is too powerful, or it may be too weak. That is the case for most normal humans on earth. For those that have a natural talent they awaken their martial spirit upon birth. You however have a surprising lineage. I haven't seen a brand like yours in a long time."

"What brand." He asked.

"The one on your leg." He said plainly.

" What the hell is this." He said as he begin to scratch at the skin.

" Kid that won't come off, it is permanently stuck on your skin. You can hide it though."

"If my parents see this they will kill me." He said nervously. " Here let me see." Old Lin grabbed his leg and covered him spirit mark for a second before removing his hand with the mark disappearing from his leg." Leaving Sam amazed. " Alright brat back on the topic. So in your case you because your spirit was too powerful I sent you to the mirage world to awaken you spirit." Old Lin could see he was confused so he continued. " The place you were at was called the underground spring, think of it was a door connecting the Mirage World to earth. They exists side by side like two room but the only way to enter is through the door. Now for people who awaken their spirit we call them cultivators. They cultivate mana to strengthen their body and spirit. Cultivators also have different levels of strenght."

Night time in Denver Sam was seated in front of Old Lin his legs were crossed and hands resting on his knees. Old Lin was seated while his hand was resting on Sam's back. "Alright kid this is now or never." he said as he injected a stream of pure spirit energy through Sam's meridians. " Ssss." Sam couldn't help but suck in air as he felt the pain of his meridians opening. Old Man Lin was controlling the spirit energy for a needle like shape as they broke through the the blockages in hi meridians in his hands, feets, and head. After making a full cycle he sighed in relief. " Alright brat it's your turn, feel all the energy around you and absorb it to continue the work I was doing. You have only opened up your main meridians. You should make them wider so you can adsorb more energy. After that you can start working on your smaller meridians."

" Okay." He responded with his eyes closed focusing on widening his meridians." Here brat now that you have started on your path you will need a cultivation method. I have a few of them but you can only choose one."

If you can reach that level I may tell you about your parents." Before he could say anything Sam appeared inside his house. " Damn that Old Man." He thought he obviously knew about his parents but didn't tell him. He knew the reason deep inside was that he was too weak fine Old Man I train hard and make you cough up about my parents. " For now lets take a look at this technique."

Sam could tell that this technique was powerful and began to create the swords in him self, with every sword he make he felt his soul become more powerful as he changed the shape and look of his swords. The books said that when he reached Sword and Mind in one he would be able to give his swords different affinities like thunder of fire. He couldn't wait to get strong and avenge his parents.
