1 Chapter 1 – Reincarnation

The sky above was full of tumultuous, dark, ragged clouds. Rain blasted from above, the seas raged to the left and the ground was torn to an unrecognizable state to the bottom. A bolt of lightning tore across the sky and a peal of thunder came close upon each other.

Below different sized rocks with pointed tips formed a terrain of danger, yet there in the sky a man floated blood dripping out of every orifice, however he still had frightening power. Truly a starving camel is still bigger than a horse.

"HAHAHAHAHA, YOU THIEVES MAY TAKE MY LIFE BUT YOU WILL NEVER TAKE MY FORBIDDEN TECHNIQUE" Bellowed the man, his mere voice shook the land and visible tears in space were produced.

The people surrounding him were also covered in blood yet they had a much weaker power than him, and they seemed visibly scared. Except for one man who was smiling with not a speck of dust on him or anything that showed signs of battle.

"Give up Chun Li, just give us the technique and we can all be on our way. You don't have to die and we get a new technique, what do you say?" said the smiling man with clear sarcasm in his voice.

"Stop talking rubbish thief, I would rather die than let you take possession of my technique." The man called Chun Li sneered.

He then smiled coldly and closed his eyes, he was incredibly handsome even with blood staining his body. His body swelled momentarily going up an additional size, then he did it again yet now it was two. Then three, when it reached four he opened his eyes and laughed before exploding his body into a bloody mist.

A Hundred years later, a young man with deep ink black hair and a mesmerizing face was in his room crying, wet, dark corner. He wore ragged plain shorts that were dotted with blood stains of several sizes.

His shirt obviously too big for him and in the same condition as his shorts. He was covered in bruises and scars, his ink black hair had been spat on and only his face had been spared. It appeared that he was being bullied yet they for some reason still found his face attractive enough to not harm it.

His current appearance was pitiful, the lowest of the low, his eyes were that of a dead fish. They had no hope or emotion and sadly no more will to live.

He withdrew a knife from his drawer next to him, it looked handmade and worn, on closer inspection his wrists had multiple cuts and as did his neck. This wasn't his first time trying to end it all. About to end his pitiful, lonely existence, when suddenly his eyes jolted open and he was knocked unconscious.

His body shined a dark purple colour and a voice echoed in his head.

"A shame you have extraordinary talent but among scum you cannot grow, don't worry I will take over your body and with me here your body will be given a better chance. Pursue the Dao in the next life child, that will be the answer, but to honour your life I will take on the same name you had, so from now on I will be known as Bai Feng" The voice was both aged and young, at the same time it was far away yet nearby.

It was a demonic presence yet it did not seem as if it was necessarily a bad thing. The boy's body was awoken again, yet this time a smile appeared on the face of the boy, a very ruthless and cold smile. His eyes also contained a fiery killing intent, enough to paralyze ordinary people

"Never would I have imagined I would be reborn and in this body nonetheless, it actually has more talent for cultivation than my previous body. I might even surpass [Martial King] in this form. Nothing is impossible after all" the man thought to himself, he was very pleased with.

"But first I need to fix up this body and consolidate my base" The man laid out his strategy, got up inspected himself and went to take a bath in a grim tub which was right at the corner of the room.

The Dao is endless. The Dao is what earns true respect. This is what the man believed in and he always had, in his past life he had many friends and blood brothers yet for the sake of power they all betrayed him.

He saved their lives and even their entire families yet all he got was a kick in the teeth, in this life he made a firm decision he would make no true friends only acquaintances.

The Dao he believed in was martial cultivation, absolute power to rule this power was separated into many stages. The only ones he knew were:

Mortal (1-5 ranks) - The weakest stage of cultivation where people have just started cultivation. This is the preparation stage before one starts absorbing martial energy in the next stage by strengthening their inner and outer body. They use martial pills to nourish their bones, muscles, organs and skin.

Earthen (1-7 ranks) – This is the stage where a martial artist can begin absorbing mana into their body. And because they have no way of storing or containing the energy it is scattered throughout their body, until later stages when they get more organised and forms a dantian.

Demi Lord (1 -7) - At this stage the body solidifies the dantian which makes it like a gaseous ball of gas. As the cultivator increases in rank the ball get larger

Martial Lord (1-7) At this stage the dantian is filled to the brim and has to evolve into a bigger dantian so it can store much more martial energy. The dantian solidifies and gains a firm structure

Martial King (1-7 ranks)– At this stage a mere flick of his hands could kill anyone below the martial lord rank and allow one's life to be prolonged by a 100 years, it was an incredibly powerful stage and was the stage he was at before he died. At this stage the dantian would be full of energy and because of this create a mini orb that would orbit it, the orb was essentially a mini dantian, and a peak martial king would have 7 of those orbs circling their dantian

The martial skills that the cultivators learnt were separated into either heavenly skills or demonic skills. The cultivators had affinity for either nature and if they practiced a skill that matched their nature the power they could output would be greater .

However, as Bai Feng knew he had a demonic natured body and the body of the boy he was resurrected into had a heavenly natured body, they fused together to form a twin natured body which was never seen before transformation, with the twin natured body his potential was limitless.

A quick review of his memories told Bai Feng that the child whose body he was in was an orphan and he was currently in the Lao province on the Northern continent, this place wasn't the weakest province but it was in the weakest continent. The Northern continent was made up of seven other provinces including the Lao province.

Suddenly a furious expression covered Bai Feng's face, while recovering the memories of the child he discovered that the child wasn't actually bullied by the other children in the orphanage it was in fact the adults because they hated his black hair even though he had a heavenly natured dantian. This particular province was controlled by a Rank 6 Demi Lord expert with a heavenly natured body and he believed that martial artist who practiced demonic skills were a bad omen, as such all demonic things related were discriminated, particularly black hair.

The man decided for revenge that he would first steal all the resources from this place then burn it to the ground before escaping and starting his martial journey. Thus the legend of Bai Feng began.

Bai Feng needed to first focus on his scars, one must know that to others scars were proof of bravery however to Bai Feng it was of foolishness and disgrace. He was once one of the most powerful existences the mighty Martial King Chu, but now he was a bullied orphan. This was enough to trigger the flames of hatred in his stomach.

"You dare to bully a child for merely his hair! Now that I'm here I will make you suffer for your sins!"

He went to his bed, which was a thin mattress that had holes and fluff coming out, it smelt horrible and yet the child had slept here for 13 years. He tore the sheets and washed them using water and a grass he found outside, strangely his sheets were black even though the colour was hated.

Maybe this was a form of ridicule but it only helped Bai Feng. Using the ripped sheets, he created a cloak with a facial protector and a small bag, His skills as a craftsman were truly legendary. Night finally struck and the entire orphanage was turned a light grey colour, then to pitch black, there were no external lights around his room.

He snuck out of his room wearing the cloak and carrying the bag, using the boy's memory he found out that the treasury was located at the room at the back of the orphanage. His first goal was to see if he could find a PD ring (personal dimension ring).

These rings were incredibly useful not only could they create a mini room in a ring, the user could store items at huge sizes and when one had reached a certain realm they could even will themselves within the ring to train or practice skills. This of course depended on the strength of the user, not to mention that only very high quality rings that contained mana could allow one to do this as one required mana to train.

However this all depended on whether or not he could find a PD ring or not. If he couldn't he could always obtain one later. That was why he carried the handmade black bag.

He needed to find something that contained mana or else he couldn't start cultivating

Using his body's lightness to his advantage he quietly sneaked around the orphanage, went through the dorms and arrived at a huge red curtain. He moved the curtain as silently as possible and what appeared was a brown broken door with a rusty handle. He pulled down the handle and opened the door. What appeared before him was an array of treasures all laid down on a blanket

What he found was...

200 High rank Mortal Pills

100 Low rank Earthen Pills

20 Medium rank Earthen Pills

3 High rank Earthen Pills

And 1 High rank Heavenly Pill

100,000 Dragon coins and a dozen martial skills (that were in the form of worn out books) and other items

The pills he had discovered were essential cultivation resources one needed if they wished to start on the path of cultivation, the low ranked pills contained diluted mana which wouldn't harm people's bodies but had a strengthening effect on them. Newbies to the road of martial arts required these pills so that they could strengthen their body and pass through the mortal realm and enter the earthen realm where they could start absorbing pure mana. The pills were also a form of replenishment.

The pills were ranked in specific orders based on their purity and quantity of martial energy contained within them, they were ranked from,

Low rank Mortal Pills

Medium rank Mortal Pills

High rank Mortal Pills

Low rank Earthen Pills to High rank Earthen Pills

and Low Rank Heavenly Pills to High rank Heavenly Pills

But the biggest haul in Bai Feng's eyes was a PD ring full of 100,000 Dragon coins and 12 martial skills which was located right in the centre of the blanket. The Dragon coins and martial skills were useful but he could trade them for medicinal items and pills which were more useful to him, but the PD ring was the most precious out of them as it had so many uses as besides it's storage, it was a potential private training space and a` locator of treasure'. He put the PD ring on his right hand and bent down.

He picked up the heavenly pill and inspected it.

"This was probably for the head of the orphanage; it seems this isn't an ordinary orphanage as they could afford this pill. It's a pity that they only have one heavenly pill" Bai Feng considered whether he should use the pill immediately or not.

Without any hesitation Bai Feng picked up the 100,000 dragon coins, the dozen martial skills and the other items that were on the blanket and placed them within his PD ring, he then rushed back to his room.

He then instantly sent the newly acquired heavenly pill into his mouth and sat down into a meditating position. He moved the mana through all his all body which created a refreshing feeling then he absorbed it into his bones and organs. As he rotated the energy, Bai Feng felt as if his whole body was on fire, he could feel his bones being reformed, his muscles being refined and he could feel that his strength had tripled.

As he had no current cultivation, his body was like an empty well with no mana, however after absorbing the former [High rank Heavenly Pill] his body was being reformed and nourished. After 10 minutes had passed he had fully absorbed the power from the pill, but a change happened to him. He had now gained a cultivation stage and ranked up not once, not twice but 3 times, he now had the cultivation of a [Rank 3 Mortal].

However even though he was a Rank 3 Mortal, with his current strength he could still defeat cultivators that were two ranks ahead of him, this was because of his fighting experience and knowledge he gained from his previous life thus he would have no problem challenging those above his rank, he was the true definition of defeating the strong as the weak.

He continued absorbing the energy from the mortal pills he had obtained. Another day passed and he had absorbed all of the pills leaving only 123 [Earthen pills], he placed them within his PD ring along with the dragon coins and martial skills.

However, compared to the previous Heavenly pill, he had only ranked up once and now had the cultivation of a Rank 4 Mortal, which was expected as the heavenly pill had 100 times the energy a Mortal pill had as it was of a higher rank.

It was now time for him to leave and begin his journey, but before that he had to wreak vengeance on the orphanage and burn the dreaded place down…But even before that, even warriors required sleep.
